  1. More bad news. After installing 1.02, my game now crashes whenever I give a move order to a vehicle. And my infantry have started shouting uncontrollably.
  2. 1: why cant tanks smash through walls and crush obstacles such as telephone poles/street lamps. Its silly to see an M1 move around trying to avoid one of these, exposing his sides. 2: I am of the opinion that dust clouds from vehicles (or the parts of them that are out of view) should be invisible if the vehicle is not spotted. Currently they give you a precise fix on where an enermy vehicle is wherever it is on the map, even if it is obscured by tall builings.
  3. exactly, and if you forget how many it had to start with... [ August 13, 2007, 12:29 PM: Message edited by: fireship4 ]
  4. Yes I know that works for entering vehicles anyway
  5. Just to be specific: LAPTOP 1. What version of CMSF are you running {Paradox or Battlefront] and what build number [1.0 or 1.01, etc] Battlefront 1.02 2. What Operating System are you running (XP, Media Center Edition, Vista, VIsta 64 etc...) XP Home 6. What EXACTLY is the problem. List out EXACTLY any error messages you and what is happening. The more detail you can provide the easier it is for us to help you. See above PC 1. 6. I just installed it on a computer im building (core 2 duo w/radeon 2900xt) and my units wont enter buildings and my cursor clicks are almost always wildly off where I point. Most likely to do with ATI compatibility, cant play at all on this computer.
  7. Just want to make sure this is known for 1.02 (I already posted about it in general) - sorry I can't really check around the forum to see if its posted already as im on holiday and am in an internet cafe Basically cant target any buildings - am using a laptop and have tried all suggestions on the forums so far. The aim point appears a good way from where I point it when I aim at a building, somewhere on the ground. Basically a show stopper as I cant put covering fire into buildings. Thanks
  8. A command that has the same bounding advance method as "assault" but doing it backwards. This would be a good way to disengage your men when out gunned and still keep some heads down. Think of the BMP attack scene in Bravo-Two-Zero (the film) where they are falling back.
  9. Well did you make sure that you picked up enough javelin missles? and arent you supposed to use air support, I cant remember... Anyway if you select the squad with the javelin and missles and target a fortification, they will fire on their own - no player input on selecting weapons is possible (except for using the "target light" button which limits the volume of fire and uses only medium/light weapons i think). EDIT to the poster above, I think i was able to do that mission, the javelins did fire at the bunkers.
  10. Final example. I think maybe the problem arises when trying to target buildings. Somehow reminds me of batman...
  11. Another example showing a unit with clear LOS not being able to target a building.... I did actually manage to get it to target the building but only by clicking randomly around. I have run in a few resolutions from 1024 to 1280 btw this happens at close range too, tried to target a building 100m away same thing. On this map they are all behind walls granted but shouldnt make a difference as LOS is clear.
  12. I dont think thats the problem - you should be able to lay down suppressive fire on suspect buildings, no question. Its essential. You dont need to have spotted anything to do that... Im thinking its not a feature but a bug.
  13. Here is an example: (where the cursor is where I clicked). Note this is QB not the mission mentioned in the title so the problem is not mission-caused i think.
  14. but it means I cant target a specific house etc! An d soldiers have radios over which basic targets can be given! And - what about a platoon which has spotted a target but does not want to hit it directly? [ July 27, 2007, 04:56 PM: Message edited by: fireship4 ]
  15. Im playing the tutorial (I had heard there wasnt one) but Im finding it hard to lay suppressing fire down in this mission as when i click "target", then on a building, etc. it marks it sometimes many metres infront of the intended target... I'm 99% the units have LOS too
  16. From what i've heard and what i've seen and from the example of previous CM games, the tracers will be there to aid the player visually and not necessarily look to realistic - how about being able to switch between full realism and player aiding ones?
