  1. Hi Gcoat, a few tanks you also can find in Luxemburg and Belgium, but often they are not connected to a museum and just part of the "landscape". http://www.pegww2.net/Pages/Museum_museums.htm Along the route of the "Battle of the Bulge" you can find quite a lot. From different types of Sherman`s and american Tank Hunters to a few Panther`s, german Tank Hunters and a very well conserved King Tiger in La Gleize. A small collection is availabe at the Bastogne Historical centre (can be found on the link above), and, if I recall it right, a Pershing and an M10 in La Roche en Ardennes. An SU-122 (among others) can be found at the Poteau museum, which is located where the actual ambush happened. And a very fine museum regarding the "Battle of the Bulge" you can find in Diekirch/ Luxemburg ("National Museum of Military History" also avaivable on the page above). But, unfortunately they aren`t located at one place, you have to fight your way through the Ardennes. ...which can also be an impression. If you use the road which was used by Kampfgruppe Peiper and at that time probably was more like a path or trail, you get an idea of how weird the thought of sending King Tigers through that area really was.
  2. Coincidentally I just have seen that the contest had been extended to the 1st Sept. ?????? Why there wasn`t a real announcement of that? Or have I missed something? My last video took around 100 hours to finish and as I said before I only had 8 days assuming that the 1st August would be the deadline as written in the contest channel. With that amount of hours spending on the video and yet a few days of regular work it`s easy to imagine how many hours I slept during the making. Of course (if possible at all) I wanted to keep that deadline and added a few extra hours just to finish and upload it in time. And now I have to realize that all the hurry and overtime was in vain? I really could have needed a little extra time, not just for some decent voice recordings. I could have understood, if the time was extended on people`s demand, because they still needed one or two days to polish their video. But then please with an appropriate announcement, not just changing three words in the contest channel (here, in the forum, it`s still the 7th August). This way it`s not very satisfying.
  3. Thank you guys for your comments! Destraex, getting the unrealistic A-Team Hollywood look is actually harder than the other way. I think you can imagine how often the Motorcycle crew died... Poor fellows.
  4. I submitted it yesterday directly after uploading. Don`t know why it`s not in the channel yet. Maybe no one at the BFC HQ. All playing Shock Force at home.
  5. The voices is actually only one. ...and in the video it shouldn`t have a serious taste. The problem I had to face was just the limit of time. After I "realized" that this video doesn`t "require" sequences from IL-2 I thought it could be a nice entry for the contest. Since I didn`t know until which date I could upload it to the contest channel (forum says 7th, youtube channel says 1st August) I wanted to prepare it for the 1st and that left me only 1 week. And though I only had to work on 3 days it was still too less time. :-( Therefore I focused more on the set-up and realization of the scenes than doing a studio recording with a decent actor. And I can tell you doing the set-up and scenes consumes so much time... Wouldn`t it just be so tricky to "control" the units... A short example: All the important characters had values of 100 in every class, so they should be able of doing everything (from what I understand). The main characters had both the "infantry" class, so no one should be "better" than the other one. Yet they behaved in a different way. When they entered the King Tiger the guy in the officers uniform always went to the commanders place although he had no different class values than the other one. But in the film he should be the driver. So, letting him taking over the drivers seat needed some patience. On the motorcycle it was the same. When it was not moving they both changed places at once. How do you want to get any kind of continuity with that? So, it was much material for just one week, even without the dubbing. Working with subtitles would have been much faster, but I decided against that, because with these no mimics in-game soldiers I felt no life with just subtitles. But a little ToW story requires a little dialogue when it should be more than showing a unit moving from A to B destroying everything in its way. Of course this shouldn`t mean that I`m not open for critics. In the future I will pay attention to the dubbing, too. And without time pressure this shouldn`t be a problem.
  6. Hi all, somehow the upload worked, enabling you to watch the new part. Of course only, if you want. It includes the sniper from "The third front" (because of public demand ). Unfortunately it`s like watching it through a milk glass, I guess it`s because of the rain. Many fast moving "objects" bring youtube close to its limits. Anyway, again I hope you all have a little entertainment from the video. This time you have to be tough, because I had to divide it in 2 parts. Actually I wanted to put all in one time 10 minutes, but that idea was rather unrealistic... Hahaha. Part 1: Part 2: Or you can choose it in my "channel".
  7. ...here in the forum it`s the 7th August. Could be interesting for me as I have finished a new one, but still have problems to convert it. ...or better :-(.
  8. Flintlock, I posted it to prove that it`s not a post-applied effect, but an actual process of transforming. Enabling me to win the battle without any further casualties.
  9. Thank you to all recent posters in this thread! I`m really happy to get these responses, because I wasn`t sure at first, if this kind of video can be interesting for ToW fans at all. So, thanks again and best regards!
  10. Oh, you still want to put in so many things... I see. Then I wish you strong nerves. The music fits well indeed. This piece always reminds me of the William Tell overture, from it`s changing in speed or pace. As for the end... maybe a german unit could hit a russian coincidentally?
  11. The ending is a pretty smooth defense. Is there no russian casualty?
  12. Thank you guys! I appreciate your comments. Yes, although it looks very simple it took the longest time to make, compared to the other videos. Because of the continuity (of dead bodies for example) I had to put all the vehicles inside the "game" right from the start. But as you all know from playing you can hear their engines even when you put them at the edge of the map, therefore I had to record all the sound again and put it over the video afterwards. :-( Thank you Slapaho, I uploaded it, but it hasn`t appeared in the channel yet. Scottie, the intro and the close up of the P47 I made with the IL-Sturmovik series. But you are all right, it`s the Flak from the good old B-17. The only game I know where Flak deserves its name. Mikoyan PT, thanks for being an audience from the first hour!
  13. Hi all, after several extra-shifts the new part is finished. No anonymous mass battles, this time it`s getting personal. I also prepared and uploaded a contest version of this video, without the IL-2 sequences, but it has a sound error in the last 20 seconds. Typical for this whole project... somehow. Anyway, this will follow tonight, as I have to go to work now. Thanks to Scriba who had to bear my lamenting because of the endless numbers of issues I had to face. Webwing, thank you for the Support Demo, otherwise the P-47 would have stayed in the hangar! Sorry theBrit that the british didn`t make it into this part. Actually I planned it different, but came out that way. Probably in the next one. So, hope you all can get a little fun out of it.
  14. The problem massimorocca talked about I also got. No green icons as in the pre-patch video. I think the unit doesn`t follow a path, but always moves to the position of where you put the first point, then it stays there. I have checked the keyboard commands, but couldn`t find something regarding this topic. Maybe I was just too impatient and hurried through but if the standard config is "Shift+RMB" it doesn`t work either. Also the Single and Dual Core thing changed worse. When I adjusted it to Dual Core and started a new game I had 2 FPS. This never happened before (without the patch). At least it still works with Single Core adjustment.
  15. WH-TRANSFORMERS: SdKfz into Armored Motorcycle
  16. Do you see the sexy blue icons in the back? I took over the dark side, the evil U.S. troops. Seemed the force was strong with me, because there was no single casualty. I didn`t want to believe it, but a M3 Grant can be a real nasty IS-2 killer. I have to admit that you began in a really imbalanced starting position. While my tanks could be hidden behind that hill yours were on the open field and easy prey for my M3. And don`t tell somebody: After Slapaho turned his Pz IV and Nashorn I thought my final hour has begun, but an M10 can do the miracle and knock out both at 1500m. Ha ha. Sweet is the taste of ... luck.
  17. Slapaho, seems it didn`t work again. :-( I wanted to return and at least say "goodbye" but seems you let the server rested in peace. Hope crazyman and nik haven`t returned either. If they did, hope you all were not too disappointed that I stayed away. Patience is a virtue. But not if the clock works against you. Maybe another time. (Yet I think I will dream about how the Nashorn and the Panther kept you both busy )
  18. Slapaho it`s very nice to see how much work you invest in bringing the MP part (back) to live. I played the same scenario, but in my opinion it was unbalanced. Too many Polish tanks with "Tank-killing" qualities and too less german counter-parts. But, I don`t want to put negative waves to this new thread of hope and I have to admit your words brought me back some motivation. If I wouldn`t have to use the time for the next video I WOULD be there again! ...Actually I`m always ready to get my b.tt...s kicked.
  19. This is the real magic, Oudy! Well done!
  20. Thanks scottie! My PC is an Intel E6600 (Dual Core 2,4 Ghz), 2 GB RAM, Nvidia 8800 GTX graphics card. But with massive scenes like at the end of the "Barbarossa" video the frame rate will go from 15-20 down to 5 after switching FRAPS on. :-(
  21. Not playing anything, but making a video?
  22. Hi Mike, I appreciate your comment. Thanks. Most times the tanks turned on foxholes but unfortunately they weren`t included in ToW. The AT Grenadiers even were connected with a thin rope or a thread, so, if one was completely buried in the snow he could give the next one a signal that he is still alive. ...hopefully the guy on the other end was alive, too. It took me around 2-3 weeks total including around 1 week of approximately 10 hours each day (when I was off ) and over 14 hours last sunday before the "release" on monday. But, as I said before, it could go faster, if I wasn`t such a technical stupid, wouldn`t have to encode the AVI files back and forth, the savegames wouldn`t crash forcing you to re-position all the troops again and again and finally the troops did what you want them to do. What do you think how often did the KV-2 miss the AT gun? When you play the game the AT gun will survive 2 seconds. Seems the game knows that you want to make a video...
  23. Thanks Brit! Next part will include Redcoats, too.
  24. Thank you rofl! Stuka42: You are right, without them it probably would be different. Especially here in Europe. It`s just sad that humans don`t learn from their mistakes.
  25. GunzAbeam: Thanks! It`s a nice idea actually and would be something different to have actors around which are not made of pixel steel and metal. ...scary somehow Russkly: No. Thank YOU, sir. Stuka42: I appreciate your comment and thank you for the rating! Emotions are always nice. So many people around me say it`s cheesy if an army storms a hill and put a flag up there (for example). But only thinking about this touches me. People were laughing in cinema at the Omaha Beach landing scene in James Ryan. So, from this you really can see that they either don`t want to show weakness, are cold-hearted or stupid. Maybe a combination of all. Oudy: Thank you. That also fits to you and your modding work!
