  1. i am not sure if i read this correctly, but in the misc. section of the new update list it state scenario time limit is increased to 4 hours.

thanks BFC for finally increasing the time. I appreciate all your other changes and tweaks but i think the longer scenarios will give our designers different options to create larger maps.

i am not going to dl the demo but am very happy about the idea that the brits are coming hopefully next week. also i hope we can purchase a bundle pack of all three titles.

  2. Heh, your view is wrong. Which it often is from the outside :)

We signed a deal with Paradox because they made us an offer we could not refuse. :D We decided to do it knowing full well what the implications were, including the inevitable retail budget sell-offs that occur anytime between 1-3 months after the game is out. It's part of the whole plan. At first it was a good plan to make money quickly, now it's what retail has to do because people are expecting it.

Since our Modular approach to the series was already fully developed and coded at the time we knew that biting the bullet on $5 budget bin sell-offs for the main game will be balanced out by increasing our customer base for the Modules. This is precisely what we've seen happen with above-expectiation Marines sales, and I would not be surprised if we'll see just the same thing happen again with the Brits :)

does this mean that we are not going to see a bundle offered by paradox?

  3. I don't know about you guys/gals but i am looking forward to play what if scenarios when all the cmsf modules come out. especially, US vs NATO forces.

CM:N will be awesome, but i don't think i will ever uninstall my CMSF for a long while.

so, even if BF does create another forum for Normandy, i will still perform my obligatory daily troll of this forum once or twice a day.

you guys thought the refreash monkey was bad, you have not met the troll monkey.

  4. Yes, the video is based on old graphics. That should be fixed within the next day or two. The problem was a glitch in how they exported models and how CM read them. The models came out looking fantastic... but with random textures, which didn't look so good :D

We are playing a bit of catchup here on the PR materials because the article that started this thread was not supposed to be released yet. Obviously we weren't quite ready for such an announcement!

    Steve

I cant wait to see more screenshot or another video with the new textures. again, where can i prepay for this title.

BFC can you please outsource a CM:Vietnam title.

  5. Battlefront will release an English version. I'm not sure if the timing of the release will be exactly the same as the Russian version, but it should be close to it. We only have to translate the scenario briefings and the manual sections specific to the Afghanistan theater. Not a small amount of work, of course, but considering how much work has gone into the game itself... it's pretty small potatoes :D

As stated, this is a stand-alone game. There is no relationship to CM:SF other than *nearly* the same game engine being used for both. Which of course means you can't do things like have current British forces fighting 1970s/80s Soviet or Afghan forces, no more than you'll be able to put Shermans against T-72s once the Normandy game comes out.

    Thanks!

    Steve

this is very exciting news Steve. I am ready to purchase the module when it come out. I love the SQB title soviet afghan war. I always hoped someone would create that came on the Shock Force engine.

  6. if your really want to enjoy the game, i suggest bumping up your vid. card to 500mg or 750 if your mobo can take it. also, upgrade to 64 vista so yo can add more than 4 gigs of ram. if you do upgrade dont forget a higher watt power supply so you dont burn our your video card.

  7. this sort of talk is helping me appreciate how CC was such a gem of its time. If only they'd upgrade it with TOW2 graphics. Buy it in a heart beat.

Does Matrix games still own the licensing?

I just played a demo of men of war. if only we had the money to purchase the license for tow2, cmsf, cc and mow.

i love the fact that you can see the action spot when you place your movements. there is a silhouette of the men.

  8. I also loved (!) playing this game, but I have the crashes and freezing up of my pc. So, I want a patch asap!!

sorry to hear about your troubles. i am doing ok so far, no issues. unfortunately, cmsf is not doing well on my new rig.
