  1. Self preservation by infantry must be modeled if tow2 is to be considered a tactical game like close combat and CMSF.

    If i wanted to play a RTS game i would buy Men of war.

    1c had over 4 years to develop this behavior. If this is the case, i rather wait for the CM:Normandy release sometime later this year.

    Give a thought to people like me who can't play tow2 because the videocard isn't good enough. Geforce 6200. Simply don't run. Already tried with the demo. Sigh.:(

    i am in the same boat. my 4600 dell is finally of 5 years ago can not handle the demo let alone the actual game. I guess its time for me to invest in a rig.

    I am thinking about a Nvidia 1 gig video card, with quad core mobo and 8 gigs of ram. I think that should last to tow4.

    oh and let me know forget the 27" monitor.

    i dont know how i will sell this idea to my old lady, may a bit about helping the economy.

  3. welcome, I've often told my friends this, once you go cmx2 you will never go back to anything else. you will see what i mean once you play shock force for a while and then try to play other game. in your mind you will think, how would this look in shock force or i can a better map on the editor.

  4. Why would you want a 4x4 map anyway? To utilize it fully you'd need several battalions. As it is, with CM:SF's interface and gameplay it's already quite a challenge to coordinate anything more than two or three companies.

    IMHO the size of CM:SF scenarios is clearly limited by the nature of its gameplay.

    the only way you can really utilized bigger maps is when BFC allows for long game times. currently, the most you can go is 2 hours and 15 minutes. I just they allow the scenario designers the option for longer battles. personally, i would love this feature. I like to take nice and slow when fight my battles. I hate rushing. I like to bring home all my soldiers and this can only happen when you take it slow and cover all he bases.

    that's why i change the battle times to max when i play user created scenarios, no offense to the designers.

  5. I am waiting for my new computer in the next week or two to purchase marines module and will purchase the other releases.

    I hope other modules include other nations.

    I would like to see north Koreans, afghans, soviets, Vietnamese, south Americans and central and south Africans.

    also, improve the editor to include all those nations buildings and add water and weather.

    one other thing on my wishlist is to have the ability to issue two order at the same time. example and i really want for this reason, be able to issue a fast or quick order and also include a hunt along with it. so when a team runs in the building they are also in a hunt mode as well.

    right now you have to order a quick to the front door and then hunt in the building, it takes too long for the squad to assemble for the hunt. hopefully this can be added on future modules or updates.

  6. Mikeyd: i have really enjoyed all your battles. please keep them coming. they get better and better.

    this is game is alive because of players like you who created all the awesome maps.

    i rarely play a QB map or the original campaigns.

    I also love playing maps that have long stretches of fields and villages with lots of ditches for maneuver.

  7. I've tried the demo several times, and i guess i just don't understand what i should be doing. Is there someone who can post some sort of walk through?

    I can't even get my tanks close enough to the town before they are all destroyed.

    read the manual to figure out what you need to do. the link is located at the top of this forum page.
