  1. i'm your man dude. e-mail me at coolwally@msn.com, or shoot me a PM here. I have a few PBEM games in the works, and am very active in it, so, you won't have to beg me for turn responses. I'm an average player, just looking for some fun. I enjoy it win, lose or draw. played about 10 PBEM games to conclusion, but a ba-zillion hours agaisnt the AI. (make sure you put an obvious CMBB reference in your e-mail message header so it stands out. also, in case it gets junked by my e-mail program.
  2. George Nipe does a great job in this area in his book Decision in the Ukraine - Summer 1943 (IISS and III Panzerkorps). He did a nice job of slaying some of the sacred cows.
  3. add one more to the pre-orders. can't wait.
  4. just went to pre-order, but it only accepts VISA/MC. I was going to use AMEX. Seems silly to limit the way a customer can pay for something.
  5. A Bridge Too Far is always worth a look. SO many famous actors in one movie. It was truly an epic film for its time. AND they made a genuine effort ot make the German AFVs look historical, instead of just slapping some crosses on some modern armor.
  6. Well, whoever he is/was he had some valid points IMO. especially about the rudeness and hostility to new people, and the lock-step mentality of the older members here. it's not a pleasant place to be, and is a dis-service to those interested in ToW, like I was when I came by here (especially when contrasted with, say, the Total War Center forums, where I recently stopped by to ask some questions and get my Rome Total Realism up to date. They were helpful, courteous, and welcoming to newcomers). I don't think I'll return here. best of luck to the ToW team and I wish the game great success.
  7. I think I fall into this catagory. been a serious student of WWII for probably approaching 30 years. my personal collection of WWII books numbers in the 100s, with many primary being source materials. Started wargaming with the Avalon Hill games in the 1970s (board games), miniatures, and progressed to today's computer games. I don't see much justification in attacking people here because they are "new" and are here recently to check on the status of ToW. FWIW, I own both CMBB and CMAK, and have enjoyed many hours playing them both. IMO, the forum moderators should be even more aggressive in dealing with the people who are nasty just for the sake of being nasty.
  8. that's just ridiculous. as if I have conducted myself poorly here. sheesh. who the heck are you anyways? a very lonely person I imagine.
  9. Misplaced hero worship of nazis? Hmm, maybe? Why did you pick Heinie? Why not Eichmann, Bormann, Hitler, Himmler, Goering, Eicke or any of the other nazi "greats?" Hmm? What's your beef against them? </font>
  10. man, you guys have so much wit and verve here! who would have thought!
  11. Oh dear! you got me. you are just too clever for me! especially that silly sig of yours. you must be a brilliant person. (PS. a blue tank completely overstates the analogy as well!)
  12. Skorzeny pulled off some amazing raids & spec ops in WWII. what's the beef with him? And Max Wuensche was an aggressive, tactically excellent armor commander with the 1SS and later 12SS. what's the beef?
  13. lol, talk about overstating your case, jeebus. you spotted a technical mistake, that possibly 1 in 1500 players would notice. congratulations.
  14. thought this was worthy of a *bump*. Some MP games while the game is relatively new might really sort out the cream from the milk here, as it were. *cough*.
  15. talk about extraneous, statistically minimal stuff! who cares?
  16. ah, what's in a number? I thought bigger was better anyways!
  17. the lack of general civility in today's world is astonishing, frankly. you see it on every gaming forum there is. no wonder the world is a mess.
  18. well, at least we're only limited by the strength of our rigs. unfortunately, I think I need a new one!
  19. jeebus, Price Ekmuhl's post, the best post in the thread goes ignored. wonder why? probably because he was correct, and his accuracy is not convenient to the america haters, that are here (and many other forums) and are as common as dog crap. and about as relevent too.
