  1. There is a secret to the Soviet Winter attack. Not sure if anyone has figured it out yet. Its to simple ATTACK and ATTACK and ATTACK. You might take 1-0 or 2-1 but eventually it wears the Germans down to where they can't do a summer 42 offensive early. There were a couple games, of the 20 I play tested, where I tried this strategy and 1942 came out fairly historical. The Germans had to prepare for a summer offensive. Their moral was so low they had to wait till June to attack. But I could not attack them much in the summer/spring. I had to attack in winter with the effects. So winter time for Soviets? Yes I conduct pretty much across the board offensives. Counterattacking is a problem. I do have some scripts in there for it very specifically but the Soviets really start hammering in 1943. I just don't feel they have enough umpf, as the A.I., to do anything in 1942. I know what a human should do in 1941/42 as the Soviets and I can't replicate that with the A.I. because it is far too complex.
  2. We have some things straightened out for the winter effects. But I would like to know from everyone if the amount of damage Germany takes is reasonable, too much, or too little. Current damage averages to 2.5. Each German unit can take between 2 and 3 points in all 3 effects. Comment on the following. A) Too little damage Just right C) Too much damage D) Too much damage exchange for extra moral hit.
  3. naval is the same system. But CVLs are included in it. BF 1939 for AoD should be out this week. I need to update one set of scripts and that's it. There will be some play test issues with the shifting of the units, new units, and A.I. routines but its the same game.
  4. dont see how thats done or I would. strength.txt only affects 1 side not a specific country. You specify who owns event axis or allied then it hits other side. Cant see a way around it.
  5. I fixed the top one. But the one affecting Helsinki I cant find.
  6. I saw one that was in range and corrected it. Hubert is putting together a patch.
  7. BF has 16 different strategies for the A.I. So it isn't Barb 41 everytime or Invade Normandy in 1944 every time. I was surprised that no wargame in history has ever done this. It really shows you the power of the SC engine and what can be done.
  8. Hmmm. I wonder if the conversion messed it up there when I expanded the map.
  9. Due to enthusiasm from some members I am converting Brute Force for AoD. I will keep posted here a list of changes and addons. - Extra decision events (but won't be a lot like Global War 1939) - Minefields - Appropriate force sizing for each country Force pool change.... OLD: 1/3 army, 2/3 corp (corp 1 attack/defense) NEW: 8/10 corp, 2/10 division (corps now 2 attack/defense) Germany - no more armies, only corps and few divisions Italy - armies, divisions, and 2 alpine corps Japan - armies, divisions USA - corps, divisions UK - corps, divisions France - corps, divisions USSR - starts with corps, converts to armies in 1941 and has divisions China - armies, corps (divisions were too weak to make any significant formation) Axis Minors - armies, divisions Some nations will still have armies Soviets start with unbuildable 1939 corps and light tanks can build armies and normal tanks in 1941 minors can be corp or army depending on unit size and composition - Improved historical at start forces names - Minor map changes (towns, roads, rail, terrain) - Clean up of rails - Clean up of text - Adding in level bombers - Adding in CVL - Adding in Cavalry - Adding in armored train for Germany and USSR - Adding in rail gun for Germany Any other ideas you might want post it here. I will consider them.
  10. I've been researching information on permanent or large naval minefields for "Brute Force AoD". If anyone has any resources post here please. So far I have the Swedish, Finnish, Soviet, and German one for the area around the Baltic. I need any information on the pacific or other fields.
  11. Which scenario and where is the X,Y of the unit affected? I checked my areas and they are correct. if your Finns are too low they will be affected (below Leningrad)
  12. No it doesn't affect Soviets. The hits affect Axis units in certain areas NOT in finland. If it is hitting the finns I might have mis-aligned an area.
  13. Hmm they shouldn't be. I will have to check this. Winter effects are an area hit not a country hit. I tried to limit where it did damage
  14. You should be able to rail it. I put Italy in just for feel so the players can see the Italian Front.
