  1. I posted this in the general forum, too, but as I don´t know whether it will be officially addressed: 1) If France is liberated, then Free French units (including ships) should become French units. 2) If France is liberated and then Vichy is defeated, Vichy should be annexed by France via event. (Should also work the other way around, though, i.e. if Vichy is defeated first.)
  2. This does not work out yet: 1) If France is liberated, then Free French units (including ships) should become French units. 2) If France is liberated and then Vichy is defeated, Vichy should be annexed by France via event. (Should also work the other way around, though, i.e. if Vichy is defeated first.)
  3. Frankly, I do not think that the missing of a Mulberry harbour (or supply to beachheads) is a big deal. Just plan your invasion so that you get a harbour quick and everything´s fine and dandy. It is also a bit more of a challenge like this. But maybe you guys think of the poor AI? Well, that´s a different thing indeed. I wouldn´t mind if we could have an option where the AI get´s like a free full turn of supply after unloading (or something like that).
  4. Actually, I deliberately wanted to avoid getting answers to the effect that distinguishing resources with respect to what they do would complicate the game. But as we are already there anyway, I will hint at an even bolder suggestion: if we would have two types of mines that would account for ore and coal BOTH being needed in a certain ratio to be able to produce certain things, then we at least wouldn´t have a problem of how to make invasion of Norway attractive to the Axis, would we? Again, this would not mean additional micromanagement, but just give certain targets their due strategic value ...
  5. I myself am not fond of micromanagement at all, but I do not see why making oil more important would inevitably lead down the "HOI-road". It´s not that I want a "world market" or "synthetic oil". OF COURSE, if oil would have an effect on movement, then certain resource-centers would be important strategic targets, but I don´t see what would be wrong with that, quite on the contrary.
  6. Actually, one of the few things I´m dissapointed with in SC2 is that all resources do the same, namely getting your mpps up. I think at least oil should have played somewhat of a "double role" in that you gotta have a certain level of oil resources/troops ratio to get all your troops going beyond a certain amount of action points. And I wonder whether something like this could not be implemented still.
  7. If you like games in that genre (Clash of Steel, Third Reich, High Command), then look no further. Yes, I too found the demo unconvincing, and once I bought the game itself I needed about three tries to really get into it. But since then I´m having a blast. The AI has to improve still, but it is already much better than it was in 1.0 and the scripters are doing great work. The endless possibility of mods is what will keep SC2 alive and fresh for a loooooong time to come.
  8. It would be cool if the incredible scripting done by Normal Dude could eventually be used for mods like yours, too (instead of just for the standard campaign). If I´m right, then the major problem seems to consist in scripts refering to specific tiles, which of course can represent different locations and properties on a custom map. But if a custom map is, like yours, a straightforward expansion of the standard map, couldn´t those scripts be adapted?
  9. Hi guys, is there something like a tutorial for learning how to mod SC2? Especially scripting and how to solve certain standard problems going with it? Or is the section of the manual covering the editor enough?
  10. It seems that one way to avoid Italian early surrender after Rome is taken by amphib-invasion would be to define some substitute capital city. I suggest that they relocate their capital to Venice in such a case. However, they probably shouldn´t do this anymore if the time is past mid-July 1943 (for, else, a possible historical surrender would be botched).
  11. The best weekends are those that start with a brandnew patch! Thanks!
  12. ... O well, and of course Bulgaria also got what is today Macedonia from the corpse of Yugoslavia ...
  13. Vienna Conference Tiles Exchange: To Hungary: 99,19; 100,20; 99,20; 100, 21 To Bulgaria: 103,21; 102,22 Note: Ploesti oilfields must stay with Romania! Fall of Greece: To Bulgaria: 102,24; 101,24
  14. I eventually found a really nice map showing all the political annexations during the time of fascist Europe:
  15. Romania in 1942 after the annexation of Transnistria:
  16. I forgot two other things (but then we should be regarding change of political borders in Europe during the war): - When Greece went down, Bulgaria got leave to annex part of it to get access to the Mediterranean (for game purposes just the tile South of Bulgaria). - Romania not only got Bessarabia back, but also received Transnistria, an extension of Bessarabia up to the river Bug, INCLUDING Odessa. For game purposes we should just use a diagonal stretch of tiles North-East of Bessarabia just including Odessa.
  17. didn´t find very good maps, but it should suffice. The first one shows the result of the Vienna Conference (light grey). The second one shows the borders of Slovakia.
  18. First of all, thanks Dave for your efforts. The list for the next update looks impressive! - Vienna Conference was on August 30, 1940. Romania ceded Transsylvania to Hungary. Actually, Bulgaria got Southern Dobrudja only somewhat later, 8 September 1940 (treaty of Craiova). However, these two things should nevertheless be handled like one event I think because Bulgaria got promised Southern Dobrudja already at Vienna. Instead of naming tiles, I will try to dig up a map. - Annexation of Alsace should include annexation of Luxemburg - When Barbarossa leads to occupation of the Bessarabia tiles, this stretch of country should go back to Romania. - When Italy surrenders, but Germany is still in control of Northern Italy, Southern Tyrolia should be annexed (as was historically indeed the case). - Actually, can you do something about Italy surrendering when it just loses Rome? I just had a game where I invaded with the UK in 41, took Naples and Rome, and even though they had a tank, a HQ and and army just North, they surrendered. This in turn severly hampered Barbarossa because lots of Italian troops in Russia just faded away. - I´m still hoping for a way to get Slovakia. Maybe Vichy Marocco and Vichy Western Africa could be merged?
  19. I wouldn´t be very surprised if it would be revealed soon that the Americans brought down the Roman Empire, too.
  20. Hmmm ... I would like to hear an official comment on this issue, though.
  21. ... actually, Sachalin in the North is more important to have than Kamtschatka.
  22. ... and please, don´t give up scripting!
  23. Normal Dude, all valid points regarding weaknesses of the general AI. I hope your voice is heard and Hubert will continue work on the vanilla default AI! Obviously, there is only so much one can do through scripting.
  24. That map looks great!!! However, any chance that it could be expanded a bit into some directions? I miss North: Kuriles, Kamtschatka, Alaska South: A bit more of Australia, New Caledonia West: Ceylon, a bit of India East: Well, ok!
