  1. I would say that there are differences. The Soviet flag, for example, was used before Joseph Stalin, and so was the Christian Cross before and after the Crusades (which, though mostly pursued under questionable motives, had absolutely nothing to do with an "attempt at genocide" at all by the way). I am conscious about the association of the confederate flag with slavery, though I think that it still is not comparable to the Nazi banner ...
  2. By the way, afaik it is not unconditionally forbidden to display swastikas in Germany. It is allowed in the context of art (e.g. movies), for instance, as well as in the context of historical documentation (history books, documentaries etc.) The thing is that games won´t count, even not if they (like e.g HOI) may have certain beneficial effects towards historical education.
  3. The fascination of evil ... I think it is only honest to admit that this indeed plays some part, though it should not be overrated. If a game sucks, even the fascination of evil will not save it. In WW2 games in the Europe theater, I´m actually more fascinated with the very different strategic challenges and options the two sides have to face. I therefore play both sides almost equally often.

Not using the swastika never destroyed a WW2 wargame experience for me, but on the other hand the problem with flag alternatives for Germany is that the one used most often (Black/White/Red) looks rather dull. That´s why I usually wait for mods making use of the imperial war flag, but with an Iron Cross instead of the Swastika.
  5. These ideas are indeed much more important than the question of whether taking Malta should be made easier. If the Malta guys are themselves isolated or suppressed, they should not be able to still wreck havoc on Axis supply - that is somewhat ridiculous.
  6. Before they enter the war, I let the Italians buy a tank and a HQ. I then transfer Italian HQ, tank, Airfleet and an Army to Lybia. Together with the navy, they can take Egypt. However, I often nevertheless need to transfer a German HQ, paratroopers and Airfleet (actually the forces I use to take Greece).
  7. I obviously think that they are too strong, too. BUT It would be ok for me if they at least could not hinder my supply in Africa during times where they are surrounded by my whole fleet and their port is down to 0.
  8. I would like to see AI vs AI too. Like someone in the other thread wrote, it would be a great option to test AI-scripts and balance issues.
  9. Does anyone remember that in the last version of "Clash of Steel" one could (if one wanted to) play the Western Allies or USSR separately (leaving the other to the computer)? It actually only really worked in the later "Future Edition", but there it was great because it is a much bigger challenge to win against the AI this way. (You really would hold your breath as Allies when Barbarossa started because you could not directly intervene!) Is there any chance that this option could be added in a patch? And if so, then I think an analogous option regarding the Axis (leave Italy or Germany to the computer) would be another step towards making SC2 immortal. Spinello
  10. I seem not to be able to damage that corps ... hmm, maybe it is really the best to just finish of the UK first. However, they should not be able to hinder my supply if in fact I blockade them and hold their port down ... PLUS I have Egypt btw ... Spinello

  12. Scenario looks really good!!! Some things about the map, though: 1) Vienna should be in the East of Austria, on the Danube. It is actually very close to Bratislava. 2) If Vienna is relocated, one northern mountain tile (next to Munich), should go back to Germany. 3) The outlay of Czechoslovakia is rather wrong. It´s difficult to describe it tile-wise, but it should go much further to the East along the South of Poland (actually it should border Russia). It seems that it should also incorporate some tiles (one "row" so to say) now making up a quite too big Silesia. Spinello
  13. I love it too. However, I´m also one of those guys who is only playing singleplayer mode, so I hope the AI will get better with the next patch. Spinello

Hi, I have two questions about the function of Malta in the game: 1) If I surround it with the Italian fleet, bombard the port down to 0 and reduce the moral of the corps to nil, I still get the message "Malta hinders Axis supply in Mediterranean" all the time. Doesn´t sound right to me somehow, given their pitiful condition. Bug maybe? 2) Even if the morale of the corps is 0 for a long time, I seem not to be able to damage it - does that mean Malta cannot be invaded in SC2 or am I doing something wrong? Spinello
