Might be an error, but this says that 27-year-old Senior Lt. Igor Boychuk was commander of the Engineer-Sapper Battalion of the 138th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade when he was killed:
Hmm…release of Azovstal defenders, including dreaded Azov Ukro-nazi leaders, in conjunction with mobilizing 300,000 Russians. Maybe it was all just to try to keep the Nat-Zs reined in online?
But didn’t mobilize enough cannon meat to appease the Girkin:
The children of the powerful are completely unaffected so nothing will happen. The disadvantaged will try to avoid as much as possible, but then passively go to die in Ukraine when they run out of options.
It’s just a BMP-2 that has already had the cannon scavenged. No markings visible to identify unit, but could be 4 GTD. They’ve always operated BMP-2, and this is one that received a light “modernization.”
This is a really, really dumb sentence. Korea? Cuban Missile Crisis? Vietnam? Israel during several wars? Etc. All raised the prospect of warfare were nuclear weapons were an option, but rejected for a various reasons, some of the same that will likely lead to rejection of use during the current war.
