  1. @sburke @Kinophile Bagaev was with the 37th Separate Guards Motor Rifle Brigade.
  2. If you are wondering where DefMon's new twitter banner comes from:
  3. Crazy UKR mounted counter-attack near Pisky:
  4. @sburke @Kinophile Maj. Igor Kaipov, Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications, 252nd Guards MRR, 3rd MRD: Maj. Chermen Bagaev, unit unknown: Lt. Col. Georgiy Khudik, unknown unit:
  5. If this leaked document is real (prime candidate for fakery), it indicates that, as of two weeks ago, 48,759 personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (not including L/DPR, Wagner, etc.) have been killed in the Special Military Operation.
  6. @sburke A Lt. Col. for the list, but can’t read the name tape:
  7. @sburke @Kinophile A few more officers… Maj. Vladimir Kholin, unit unknown: Maj. Alexander Starchkov, unit unknown (patch might be recognizable if a larger version of the VK post photo can be accessed): Maj. German Yudin, deputy battalion commander, unknown unit (Yaroslavl is home to 34th Railway Brigade?):
  8. Dariivsky bridge pontoon replacement and nearby warehouse were hit.
  9. A regiment, which will probably end up being a single BTG in reality.
  10. Now they are hanging that soft bagged ERA on T-90M turrets, presumably salvaged from T-72B3Ms or T-80BVMs (no such “official” installation has been seen previously). These tanks seem to have had some rough use based on the slat armor and signs that they might once have sported Nakikda thermal camo. Oddly they have no unit markings, just rail transport markings I think. Maybe delivered direct to front from factory or whatever facility holds them for Moscow parades, or just no point if you are going to cover the tank in Nakidka. EDIT: Clip is from Biriuch, Belgorod Obl., just over the border. Same YouTube account has a clip of a T-72B3M with a bunch of Kontakt-1 ERA added on top of the factory ERA: https://youtu.be/i0AKqHiy-rU
  11. Another T-90M (I think) on the Kherson front. This one total loss:
  12. When they say this, they mean little brothers. And if little brother doesn’t do what big brother says, little brother should expect a beating. Big brother still loves him, though…well…as long as he respects the correct order of things.
  13. @sburke @Kinophile Lt. Col. Aleksey Afonin, a deputy commander in 234th Guards Air-Assault Regiment, 76th Guards Air-Assault Division: Maj. Alexander Ananichev, unit unknown:
  14. More sober Russian assessment posted to The Grey Zone:
  15. Said to be Ukrainians close-assaulting Russians dug-in on north side of Bakmuts’ke (Geolocated to here: 48.67638° N, 38.10503° E):
  16. No, a corporal. It was mentioned earlier based on Russian telegram posts (I think) that 45th Spetsnaz Brigade had been thrown in to stabilize the Kherson situation along with other Airborne units. This just provides confirmation.
  17. Confirmation that 45th Spetsnaz Brigade is operating in the Kherson bridgehead / pocket:
  18. Yes, but there were additional sets (I think company-sized) that left the factory after 27 MRB had received their set of 30. We just know that 19th and 20th MRD from the SMD were among the units planned to be re-equipped, and so could have been recipients of small numbers of subsequent deliveries. Also, a single T-90M was seen in a Russian journalist’s report from the Zaporizhzhia front about a month or so ago. EDIT: here it is. From July 10:
  19. Most likely some element of the 20th Guards MRD. Both 19th and 20th MRDs were slated to receive T-90Ms as of summer 2021. https://iz.ru/1173026/anton-lavrov-anna-cherepanova/zabronirovali-proryv-iug-rossii-usiliat-noveishimi-tankami-t-90m EDIT: one T-90M was also seen in Russian journalist’s report from the Zaporhizhia front about a month ago or so.
  20. Looks like that YPR-765 was towed off by a T-90M. Not sure who is operating these in the Kherson bridgehead.
  21. He just says they need more bodies, and if they are conscripted bodies from Russian proper, the military will be motivated to adopt proper tactics, which is an amazing bit of magical thinking.
  22. Yup, look up video of strike on Russian “Zoopark” radar and you will see bursts at optimal height over empty field, higher burst directly over equipment and even higher bursts over trees. Presumed to be Excalibur. EDIT: here it is: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=636548444321688&extid=CL-UNK-UNK-UNK-AN_GK0T-GK1C&ref=sharing
