SPOILERS********************
Having rececently read a book on Pegasus Bridge, I took on this campaign with great delight, but I'm struggling with the first mission (albeit having fun doing so). The first time I moved too slowly. But the second time around I covered ground quickly used a lot of smoke to get me across the bridge, didn't suffer many casualties, got many squads over to the other side, but still the time limit prevents me from gaining a victory. Not even close to the T-junction. The major problem are the units in the two houses on the right side of the west side of the bridge. 12 minutes in total. Any pointers?

war is an awful thing - we all too often forget while we enjoy our games
Actually, that is one of the reasons why I "enjoy" games like CMBN, that when things go FUBAR and pixeltruppen fall left and right - it is a reminder, and a stark one too, that war is a dreadful thing. The more I play (immersed in battles), the more convinced I become - a pacifist that enjoy war games (is that a contradiction of terms?).

Dpabrams, can you recall if the buildings had taken any significant damage (creating abstracted holes) other than small arms fire?
-
This bug reminds me of another one concerning odd "behaviour" of roofs that I discovered a while ago, but was artillery shells that bounced rediculously high after hitting a roof:

Shouldn't the rocket have exploded on first contact with even the thinnest of roof structures?

Stunning, simply stunning. Can't wait...

Author Samuel Beckett also wrote: "Time passes / That is all / Make sense who may."
So, I'm doing my best trying to make sense of the time that passes until the next patch/module/announcement etc.

Man, I would dread that set-up phase

The book HBO based parts of "The Pacific" on. Great series. Would like to read the book too.

And whats that sir?
Well, it's about your brothers...all three of them actually, they are all, hmmmm....well, dead, KIA. Sorry, son - but we're here to get you the heck out of here.
-
Ryan present!
I got some bad news for you son...

Good to come across a fellow soldier (and Swede

IRL, did the tank commander always give orders to fire the main gun (and choice of target) while the MGs could be used by the crew at will (unlike the main gun)?
If the commander is killed, maybe the crew only use MG unless the player "becomes the commander" and gives a direct TARGET order, in which case HE is used.
Maybe the instances I remember are from tanks with its commander KIA.
-
MG more effective than a shell for area fire. There is only so much HE so why waste it.
I find it is rather useful against groups of men. If no target order is given it should fire HE at groups of bunched up infantry and MG against ones on their own.
-
In the example above, when I manually give order to fire I use target, but when not actively giving order the tank uses the light version. Why?
-
I have a hunch, that I can't prove, but something I've noticed over the most recent scenarios I've played. Most of the time I give my units target orders. If I do that with tanks, they usually fire HE at infantry units. But it seems to me, that if I don't give the target order, it fires MG only at infantry, even though it still has HE shells. Is there some reason behind this? Is it more than a hunch? Unfortunately I have no saves to prove my point, but it is something I have noticed frequently.

Please do. Or, why not put it in the repository - I'm sure more people than me would like it (like all your work
).

Fuser - which is the wall mod behind the Stuart? Looks darn good.
-
I tried it briefly last night but was getting a ridiculously low frame rate of like 1 every 2 seconds. I will turn down my graphics settings and give it another go because it would be a shame to give up on it when others are saying it is so much fun.
Try to turn shadows off, it might help quite a bit.

The beach landing scenario in the SPR-campaign is a blast.
-
GAJ has them but they are only version C - he has released a version E which I have but I've no idea where it is now.
Can you release it to the repository or put it on GAJ? Unsure if you have publishing rights but maybe.

Sometimes you have a victory condition that gives you points for getting less than, for example, 25% casualties. But how does tanks, half-tracks, trucks, and so on count against it. If the entire crew survives is the vehicle counted as one casualty, like one man? Or a four crew tank taken out completely - 5 casualties?
Wait, no 8th Army?
