The demo is version 1.30.
Actually, the modern era kind of scares me. What I saw in Chris Twitch-broadcast with Black Sea was the potential for utter and immediate carnage. Granted a small mistake in WWII-setting is the potential for disaster, but not on the scale of the modern era. I'm sure I will enjoy it a lot. After all, it is a CM-game. But my nerves will be on end, especially for what I anticipate to be a painful learning lesson to adapt to modern era tactics.

Kohlenklau, do you still need some playtesting? I can do some if you wish - preferably a short scenario. Can't do the entire campaign.

I did have problems with Avast when extracting the zip file of the demo and had to turn it off for a while. The demo runs fine though with Avast on.

No, they hadn't. The Croc also fired HE and MG, but no flame. However, I did notice a tell-tale hit decal from a faust or schreck that I didn't see, that had killed the radio operator. Does he man the flamethrower?

I have the demo and Avast, but no deletion so far.

This might be an occational thing, but I couldn't get a Croc to fire flame at bunkers (which would be ideal) from the front, about 75 m away. Tried no target, target and target light - but no flame. I checked, and the flamethrower was functioning.

Too bad there is a change of schedule, now streams will be on Sundays at the same time, for us in Europe who need to get up for work the next day - it will run past midnight. Guess I have to check it out after instead, but rather like to follow the chat live.
No chance that the stream can begin a couple of hours earlier Chris?

I downloaded the demo yesterday and took it for a spin in preparation for Black Sea. I like the setting as it differs from WWII-settings, but the game engine and graphics are dated. With an update, I would probably buy it.

Pffffh, age is a state of mind and by the looks of your mods you're still at a tender age. Unless making all those mods (thankyouthankyouthankyou) made you old prematurely

I asked Chris during his Twitch broadcast a couple of weeks ago, as I assumed a patch for CMFI at this stage would be pretty straight forward after RT and BN. But he said that it wasn't in the works - so let's hope your speculation is correct. This title needs some love.

I also saw, just yesterday, with patch 3.11 that crew fired through a bunker wall to the side (not the main MG though).

...Those of you looking forward to this that haven't dipped a toe in Shock Force waters, you're going to be shocked and awed by RPG's and ATGM's. They will be far and away the biggest culture shock if you're used to CMx1 and CMBN onwards.
You make a compelling argument ... downloading ... in preparation for the modern era ... slightly scared to be honest from what I have seen from CMBS. But in a good way

As far as I know it is going to be a stand alone game with a new game engine. Precious little info so far.

Came across my first AT bunker (vehicle pack) and by the look of it the gun blocks pretty much the entire opening. The only way to spot, I guess, is through the gun sights, which would limit spotting a lot. Especially to each side. Anyone with any experience how well/poor they spot?

I had dismounted the engineers and fired just one shot with the main gun.

If it takes that long to reload (main gun greyed out) that might explain why it didn't fire despite tageting order between 80 - 100 m. That why I thought the "Out of range" might be wrong.
But it seems like it's been more than 4 minutes now...
Good thing there is no incoming fire

The manual doesn't state how long it takes to reload the AVRE's "petard" main gun. It seems like forever. Does anyone know? The manual also states that the range is 80 m, but when targeting the "Out of range" indicator shows at 100 m. Which is correct?

Thanks for the scenario. However, the artillery asset is "denied" however I try to use it. Is there an HQ/FO unit missing at setup?
