You get more points for a man captured than for one killed or wounded.

I would say that although there are some general guidelines to successful mine placement, how often you use them, how many you purchase, and where you put them vary greatly from player to player. It's mainly a matter of testing to see what works best for you.Originally posted by dog of war:what are the best places for laying minefields anti tank/ anti personnel in this game

Jolly good thread. Pity about its wrongness though.

Can you load other battles to the editor, or are you just having problems with the ones you yourself made?
-
I want to make sure I understand what your problem is. You save a scenario, then when you enter "scenario editor" and hit "load," you can't access the files or you can find the one you're looking for but it won't load?

60's have a minimum range and a maximum range. You'll get an out-of-range message and be unable to fire if you are targetting too long or too short. The exact ranges can be found in the unit info table. Highlight a mortar and hit enter to view these stats.
When using an HQ spotter, the HQ itself must have LOS to the target area, even though the mortars do not. Search the CMx1 forums for "mortar spotting HQ" and you should find some informative threads.
I hope this helps.

Have you decided to give up in our game when your troops were about, oh, two meters from my forward positions?Originally posted by NG cavscout:hmm, talk about soft balls, they must go with his soft head...

What do you think he meant by "blasting one out of the park?" It's all he has to look forward to these days.Originally posted by stikkypixie:I bet that's not the only reason why your wrist hurt.

He'll get it to you shortly, but then again, he does everything shortly. I wouldn't expect it until your eldest daughter enters college.Originally posted by NG cavscout:Seanachai you turnip, too busy kayaking to get the turn back to me?

I've been bogged down lately with work and school. Turns out shortly.

Is that an endgame shot or an in-game shot?

A just question, Peterkin.

I think that it is representative of the research and development France put into their armored forces rather than an actual armored concentration. Most of the time French armored units were dispersed amongst the infantry units, but when massed they were equally effective as teh Germans, and at times more so. Look up the battle of Gembleaux (sp?), Belgium, as an example.

One notable difference being that German Panzer and Panzergrenadier divisions had at least one HT-equipped battalion in its TO&E. US and CW infantry divisions were for the most part truck-mounted. </font>Originally posted by Kingfish:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by coe:
so in effect were all the British and U.S. infantry divisions Panzergrenadier divisions so to speak

US infantry divisions were fully motorized from the start of the war. US infantry divisions would likely have an independent tank battalion attatched to them temporarily, and would have towed TDs to counter enemy armor.

I have an old black lab that could destroy rleete in a battle of wits, and is probably better housebroken.Originally posted by Joe Shaw:Regrettably dalem's Sten and OGSF's Maggie the wee spaniel have both left us, but perhaps V42below has a pet King Brown snake with whom you can trade barbs.

Watch what you believe when you read Burgett. Some okay combat narrative, some inaccuracies in there as well.

Did this have a point or was it just the random firing of a couple of neurons? </font>Originally posted by Boo Radley:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by stoat:

I want to know why we let parents come to their children's sporting events. Ditto coaches. Maybe an IQ minimum to keep the hillbillies and inbreeders out would work.

Those are just the kind of rules I'd expect from a non-turn-sending fuppy.

I just spent the last hour wading through piles of crap for pre-calc, trig, chem II, and spanish. It doesn't stop me from sending turns.Originally posted by Boo Radley:C+. Don't you have homework to do?

It really depends on the day. During the week, school work and a job severely bite into CMAK time, so I'm lucky to get two turns off per day, though I try to always get at least one sent per day. However, on the weekends the turn rate can be up well over 10, depending on the time difference with an opponent.
