The thing I like about PCs is that you can build them yourself easily. Installing a new video card etc is also simple and most importantly the parts are available. In the past Macs had a place but times have changed at least in my mind. Macs used to be what the professionals used. But this is no longer rally true in fact I feel that nowadays a lot of the appeal of Macs is style and the fact that hey are anti-windows. Frankly I think Linux etc is a better To up-grade my PC all I need to do is buy the following parts. Motherboard 100$ TWINX1024-3200XL ddr-400 Corsair ram 1024MB Latency 2-2-2-5 250$ CPU AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 263$ Radeon X800 XL 256MB 300$ That is 913$ for a top of the line system. Price me a Mac with similar specs. May of the parts will be the same but the price will not be.

I think 1:1 etc all sound great I think you have to understand that a lot of posters here are out of touch grogs running Macs from 1996. I would even like the ability to click on individual soldiers if I so chose to tweak their positions. Although the AI should be good enough most of the time in those key fire fights it would be helpful. Especially in smaller games.

Alright I challenge you to a duel kar 98 vs. m16a4. In Stalingrad at 100 to 200 meters no cover, run and gun. Unless you hit with your first shoot you’re going to die. At least on the tactical level small arms are a factor. Strategically less so but if your losing all the tactical encounters. Consistently it can’t be helpful. CM seems like it should be mostly tactical level. In the end assaulting dug infantry is going to be hurt no matter the weapon.

If every German had night vision and where armed with xm-8 with the new M320 40mm grenade launcher plus 4x power scopes etc yes it would have changed the war. All the allies would have died in the night

Yep that was what I was suggesting maybe even with elevation numbers above sea level. While they are at it they may as well make projectiles of all kinds (tank rounds etc) have realistic performance at different elevations right

One thing I have found in CM is that only at the lower level zooms (the lower the better only the first two are really any good). Is it possible to get a good lay of the land. I feel that an elevation overlay would help greatly or if that is too much at least an adjustment of the viewing angles would help.
