  1. My problem is the same as the one listed in the other similar thread, but, I indeed do have version 1.01 installed. Despite this, the Panzer Rgt 130 battle and the Devils Descent campaign fail to show up on the game selections screen. I have the battle loaded with the others in the Scenario file. I have the campaign loaded in the Campaign file. Both files were extracted to .btt and .cam files with rar. This is a very strange problem. These are the first two downloaded battles/campaigns that I have tried, so, I don't have any other user created battles working on my computer. Thanks for any help.
  2. Infantry in buildings gets shot up very quickly, it seems to me. It's worth being part of the on-going review process of the game.
  3. Very helpful thoughts and suggestions, especially concerning use of Hunt for recon/scouts.
  4. I need help with my tactics in this area. Even my two-man scouting teams get spotted and killed . . . even at night or dawn! I set them to short covered arc, I have them crawl/Slow towards to point needing recon . . . it doesn't matter, they still get spotted first and killed. One specific scenario/campaign that gets me is the German campaign where Panzer Lehr must conduct recon in the first scenario. My poor scouting gets me defeated fairly handily. Helpful comments, suggestions and tips are most appreciated ! Thanks!
  5. Thanks so much. Final follow-up question from me: I gather from this thread that my men entering the building must use a Door, rather than a Window. Units cannot enter a building through a Window, but, must use a Door or a Breach of some sort. Is this correct?
  6. I'm having difficulty with my squads entering buildings. I can't figure out whether they will enter into the nearest side or run around to another (more exposed) side of the building and enter from there. They usually get chopped up when they do that! I've looked at the windows and doors on the buildings, and sometimes the door seems to be the way in, but, not always. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
  7. BoB is a tightly run ship. The club will identify and deal with members who bail on games without permission from the opponent.
  8. The BFC folks have now made SO much money and become SO rich that they don't want us to know, for fear that we demand price reductions and freebies ! Don't they know that we WANT them to be rich?
  9. The Pzkw IV does look proportionally accurate, I admit. The Panther looks OK, too. Here's a link to a youtube film clip that indicates that CM:BN got the scaling of the human figure in the Panther correct. So, I must retract my statement about the game perhaps not having got it right. Thanks for posting. Very interesting stuff indeed.
  10. I don't understand the need for secrecy on this issue. However, if secrecy is necessary, I accept that.
  11. Is the SteelBox bulletproof for real bullets? What about CM:BN bullets?
  12. The tanks themselves are modeled beautifully. But, I spent some time on YouTube, and I think that the human figure's head is too big for the tanks. YouTube has Panthers driving about with a crewmember's head sticking out of the top. It's fairly clear that the human figure in the game is too big for the tank. This is not a big deal to me, but, it is interesting.
  13. 501. That's exciting ! Could you clarify your statement about 501 possibly not being the actual number of existing Steelboxes? They sold out the lot of them. I suppose that there could be a few dozen there were not sold, but, given away to playtesters and developers. Is this what you mean?
  14. I noticed that the computer graphical representation of the tank commander opened up in his Panther tank seems too big. The Panther was a physically huge tank compared to a person. I think that the tank commander is too large sitting in his Panther. He looks like a giant in there. Thoughts? Am I mistaken here? PS I have same-scale models of a Panther and a Tiger I from the same company. The Panther is the larger of the two. Is this correct? Maybe the model company got it wrong. Thanks. PSS Great game, by the way.
  15. Just curious. Now that I am the proud owner of the sold out Steelbox edition, I'd like to ask how many of these units were there for sale?
  16. Awesome. Thanks for posting. I could not help but notice that the SPWs in the training film are being used as panzer assault vehicles! They drive right up to the enemy and then the PzGdrs dismount. That seems very dangerous given the fact that any Russian AntiTank rifle would have a great chance to penetrate the SPW and cause crew casualties. I thought that SPW usage would be much more conservative, given the lightness of the armor protection.
  17. I agree with those who contend that CMBN would be improved by addition of a Tool Tip of some kind that would name the terrain in the tile.
  18. I think I've figured it out. You have to de-select by right clicking before entering the next Stacked Command.
  19. I've read and re-read the Tutorial on manual page 28. I'm trying to learn how to Stack Commands. I can't seem to get the hang of it. It's the part about "left clicking on the colored line", I think, that's confusing. When I do that, the waypoint path is altered to reflect a new waypoint where I just clicked on the colored line. After that, things get all messed up, as the entire sequence of stacked commands gets changed to "Slow Crawl" which is supposed to be the last move command that the mortar crew takes before they Deploy the mortar in the tutorial. Is there a better step by step explanation of command stacking somewhere?
  20. Nothing you can do about bad luck. I was luckier. Barkmann's tank took many hits, but none caused any system damage on the tank. This is s good little scenario.
  21. Just completed on Veteran setting vs. AI. Total Victory. Barkmann finishes with 73 enemy casualties and 20 AFVs to his credit as kills. He ends the game out of AP ammo. This is really a wonderful game.
  22. Thanks! That worked! In CMx1, you could simply drag a waypoint to a precise spot in the square.
  23. This is my sixth solo game. I'm enjoying the game immensely. Last game of the Tutorial, I placed the Weapons Plt Leader on Level 2 of the Building on the Left. He had a very nice LOS into the German positions near the Crossroads. THIS next game, however, I'm having GREAT difficulty in placing this unit in precisely the same place. For some reason, the Plt Ldr wants to stand in the BACK of the room instead of near the window facing the Germans. I'm currently trying to move him back and forth, out of the building, etc., in the hopes of him finding the window facing the German positions. I don't know what the problem is. There is nobody else in that building but the Weapons Plt Lder. I do believe that the game needs something done to improve the precise placement of units. Thanks.
