A shame you had to pull out ,you would ,no doubt, of been a formidable opponent! Out of interest, would there have been a standard drill for Commonwealth tank Troops and Squadrons upon spotting enemy ATG's on their flank? -

13-14 minutes 2 more Recce carriers destroyed, one by artillery and the other by a Panzerfaust. Poor bloody infantry 1st Platoon pinned down on the road with an barrage and mines for company! -

Thanks for the artillery clarification kohl and I like the way recce forces come on first. More realistic and hopefully less nasty surprises! Battle Hex 3,7 underway. No contact yet. -

And if Fizou had more ATG's in the NE sector facing South then getting holed in my left side would be a distinct possibility! -

Cool! Invite for Hex 3,7 accepted. Just need my opponent's email address to send invite to? And are there are planes on the Allied side? -

I have got them both under light 81mm mortar fire. I am sending the Coy sniper team to get a closer look. After losing 2 Shermans, I am being more cautious to say the least! At the same time, I want to concentrate my forces on the green objective zone and not get sidetracked off East. There are only 30 minutes left now and my opponent retreating off map after inflicting serious damage is more than likely...boo hoo ;( -

Sorry what I mean is have you got the 'Map contours' in the 'View' drop down menu toggled on or off? -

Fantastic work kk, thanks! One thing ; are there are topographic contours on the Panzer Campaign map or is it completely flat as it appears now? -
C2 & Information Sharing
Kuderian replied to MOS:96B2P's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Good analysis MOS! And your game must be on Iron setting if your having to spot friendlies as well. I use this technique esp. for the British who tend to have their amour in separate parent formations. An example from my recent battle ; I had a Coy of Panzer Grenadiers with a battery of on map Grilles both with separate off map higher HQ's. I put both their respective HQ's into Kubelwagons and kept them within visual contact of each other. Then when some of my infantry spotted an enemy the spotting location was passed after some minutes to the Grilles(vertically up to their HQ then horizontally to Grille's HQ then vertically down to battery HQ). Another thing I found was that infantry HQ's could remain in C2 even when moving in a vehicle but not on foot.- 111 replies

7th minute. Chappy, another good tip is to have two HQ's from different parent formations near each other. That way they will gradually share their respective C2. Especially useful for the Commonwealth forces as their armour is usually in a different formation. -

6th Minute. Double trouble. More ATG incoming and an artillery barrage! -
I have just started playing 'Dawn Patrol' as the Soviets and I notice all the trench systems are displayed at higher elevation without spotting them. Big FoW giveaway, methinks. 3 pics to illustrate.

Checking in. p.s. never realized how distinctive Canadian accents were until I smoked my way through several series of 'Trailer Park Boys'!
