The 'bad window' was between early July 2009 (when the 1.04 patch/game was first available) and the end of July 2009, when the patch was updated (but no 'version' difference). Any downloads after that time should be fine.
Thank you.

Seeing as you purchased it on April Fools day, it couldn't hurt!
Regards
KR
Lol, I was just hoping my post would be taken seriously with that date posted.

Um... Just curious, I have not tried the PBEM feature with my most recent purchase of CMx1 (bundle pack), download version. Prior to getting this bundle pack, I had the CDV disc version, which worked fine PBEM.
I purchased the CMx1 bundle pack on April 1st / 2012, should I down load the file again from the link provided with my purchase e-mail and reinstall the games? This is based off what is being mentioned of a "bad window".

Wargamers Digest!! Talk about a blast from the past...buying minatures, primer, then paint....ayi, caramba. Never again...
LOL no doubt.

From a post I had in the CMBN forum previously: Wargamer's Digest, circa late 1970's - late 1980;s):

Windows Vista seems to have killed that feature. Back in an earlier OS I used to be able to take game screenshots with the F13 key. But I was compelled to download and install Fraps when I upgraded to a new computer.
F13 (Prt Scr) is the print screen key for some.
Then paste it in Photoshop or whatever to view it.

I just get this feeling that "Early war" modules will be made. It would make $ense no?
I am hoping that CMFI will have a module (and let it cover the whole time period) for the North African campaign... Rommel is waiting.
As for the Eastern Front... wouldn't it be sweet if that game engine / modules covered the same time period as CMBB eventually?? Yes, yes it would!

FYI for others, for some reason Streety's "Author" name is listed twice at GaJ CMMods under CMAK.
Upon further reconnoiter one is listed as "Streety" the other "streety". Upper and lower case in the author name. Just an FYI for others looking for these mods.

You are correct, it did fold. GreenAsJade took it upon himself to start up CMMW and is doing a fine job of it I might add.

A man decided to play CMBN for an entire weekend nonstop. Being the weekend, his wife/girlfriend wanted to go spend an entire day shopping, then dinner, then a nice romantic movie. He told her his turn rate had been dropping recently and he needed to make up for time between turns so instead of going out, he stayed glued to his monitor with the sounds of battle throughout. When he finally emerged from his mancave Sunday night, he was confronted by a very angry wife/girlfriend and was barraged for nearly two hours with a tirade befitting his actions.
Finally, his wife/girlfriend stopped the nagging and simply said to him, "How would you like it if you didn't see me for two or three days?"
To which he replied, "That would be fine with me."
Monday went by and he didn't see her. Tuesday and Wednesday came and went with the same results.
Thursday, the swelling went down just enough where he could see her a little out of the corner of his left eye.
LMAO. ...

76mm, I assume you have seen RobO's quick campaign generator for CMAK and CMBB...
Pretty much an automated Excel spreedsheet that takes care of the bookkeeping for you and your core force.

You may have to be logged in at CMMODS for the links, within the above link, to work.
Just passing this along.

As long as it runs on every new rig I get through the years, CMAK and CMBB will always be on the HD, this includes CMx2.
-
Would Dropbox be useful?:

Any plan to maybe jump from Italy to NA with one of those CMFI module disks? Rommel would like to know.

I enjoy playing CM2, but it is more demanding and tiring than CM1.
CM2 is also more "unstable" in the way that a modern fighter jet needs a computer to fly cos things are so sensitive and can wrong so quickly vs older piston aircraft (CM1) that you can handle more easily.
CMBN is designed more for infantry battles rather than the combined arms style of CM1 and CMSF.
But, they are all excellent games especially since no one else is producing anything comparable. CM1 is just more of a fun game and "feels right", while CM2 attempts to be more of an accurate simulation -and hence the glitches are far more glaring.
Very good post and totally agree.
For me as well, I am not a very big fan of 44-45 period as well. Early war 40-43 for me is what I enjoy the most, as well as armor / combined arms... and lots of it. Mind you I don't mind CMAK modded to CMETO for some reason.
-
Oh yeah, forgot about the sound mods... Good response Streety.
-
I just extract the files into the 'BMP' folder that is in the CMAK install folder. I have a HD backup of my HD, I do not worry about backing up the files in the 'BMP' folder. You may want to. Also, I do not use a mod installer.

Good stuff.

Yeah Schrullenhaft I think you are correct, 640x480 res is not an option.
Itchy, I assume you have deleted your CMBB and CMAK prefs files prior to starting them again?? Sounds like you have done that though, since the games are requesting a resolution. Even if you have, do it again and select the proper setting again. See if that helps, you never know.
What prompted the resolution request in the first place? A re-install?... I only get that request when I delete the pref file from the CMBB or CMAK (CMETO) install folder.

I started playing CMSF some time ago and thought it was great. But like a fool I thought there must be something better. Off I went and spent many months and much money, looking for a "better" tactical wargame. OK, I discovered the John Tiller "Squad Battles" series, which I like, but generally speaking I hit a wall of frustration. When I saw that CM "Normandy" was available I waited and waited but eventually caved in and bought. Wow! blown away! If only I'd not wasted so much time and money on other games! Now I'm back playing Combat Mission.
If you haven't previously checked out the first incarnations of CM (CMBB, CMAK) and if you like the theatre's that they provide (Africa, Russia etc) I would scoop those up as well. The game engine, as others I am sure will let you know, is dated. However the theatre's are right up my alley and I still enjoy what they provide.
There is a campaign layer for a core force that you can try out using RobO's quick campaign generator (and automated Excell spreadsheet for CMAK and CMBB). Links for these can be found on the other forums CMAK and CMBB.

How's the gown, 88's? The one that does up down the back? Have they let you take the corks off your forks yet?
Ouch, my first typo (mind you, 218 posts only) after years and years on these forums and I hear about it... This place rocks. Gotta watch those grammar Nazi's, they will shoot you right between the eyes if you are not careful.

Give it time my friend...patience. BF will get there. By the way, my favorite time period of WW2 as well.-Never meant they could put a fork in things and call 'em done! I'm looking very forward to seeing that stuff myself. I spent more time with early war equipment in CMBB than the later gear. I'd love for them to do a Battle of France module, too (but I know that's probably not going to happen).
Ah yes patients... Hence my reasoning for still plugging away with CMx1 for my earlier war period battles, Ex. Gazala, Tobruk, the drive for Moscow, Kursk etc... Until CMx2 goes that route, I may be an old man before I switch completely.
multi-core support.

I have Cyberpower 3.60 GHz workstation, with 16GB RAM, 8 core's and GTS 550 Ti card... Of course it's a PC.
I work with Mac's, being a graphic artist, at work. Didn't stop me from buying that beauty of a PC I mentioned above... Just saying.
