  1. I may be dreaming that I read this, but does the loss of high ranking HQs lower the global morale, thus making surrender/ceasefire more likely?
  2. You could just cut the portion of the screenshot you want to retain using Paint....
  3. Thanks for the kind words folks! Reason to do another one soon, I reckon! BTW, the link that Micheal Dorosh refers to is here
  4. I'd be happy with 1 of 2 things: 1. CMx2 engine can cope with any theatre and so you have 'add-on' packs for whatever time/theatre you want. 2. It redoes WWII but so freakingly well that it feels liek a new genre!! Anyway...I'm happy playing BB/AK as it stands!
  5. Thanks! It was a lot of fun to make! I was also impressed how well I did. The couple of times I've played it before I've lost at least 2-3 Sherms. It was incredibly fortunate that Oakley plugged the first Tiger on contact. Things would have been messy otherwise. The StuG I wasn't concerned about, and when the Tiger got surrounded I pretty much knew it was in the bag. I'll start looking for another wee scenario to do volume 2 after xmas! Preferably one I haven't played before.
  6. After a short hiatus for christmas shopping, etc...it's complete. The entire LAR...well I guess it's an AAR now...can be read from start to end! Enjoy. Look out for the next Raw Recruit Comic!
  7. Your wish is my command! And anyone care to check the German (Leopard_2)? The words were pretty simple so I took a chance on the translator!
  8. Wow! Right...errrmmm...that's quite exhaustive! I might revisit the pages to fix some of that (prob. not all) but I think I'll bash on with the rest first. Thanks for taking the time to read the LAR, though, John! PS As for the recon photos, I just wanted a way to convey the positions at certain points. Keep y'all updated. Never mind night photos...taking pictures over the battle, getting them developed and to Div. HQ in seconds is hardly realistic! But then...it is a comic...!
  9. If you point me to the typos then I'll get them corrected. As for the brightness, I don't see any problem with it. It's a dusk scenario, but on my rig the images are perfectly clear!
  10. (Sound of footsteps returning down teh corridor) ...pages updated! I'll be sure to get a proper translation next time!
  11. Ahem...pesky online English to German translators! The first one was meant to be "We have been hit!" Thanks for the corrections! It's not much effort to update the pages... (sound of footsteps disappearing up the corridor)
  12. And there are still quite a few ways to derive fun and pleasure from either CMBB or CMAK. Use RobO's system for playing the AI. Join a meta-campaign like CMMC or the Onion Wars. Write up some fun and different AARs. To name but some...!
  13. I'm at the next orders phase and will probably have the next minute 'in the can' tonight. The most time taken is finding the right camera angles and deciding how many/what shots are needed to tell the story over the minute. That last minute took a while because I wanted the appearance of the Tiger to have an impact and the first exchange to be as exciting and frenetic feeling as possible, hence a few more frames than previous turns.
  14. Try using mail client software (such as Outlook or Mozilla) to connect to your IMAP account. Using web-based mail for PBEMs is a royal pain otherwise.
  15. And there's CMMC for a more detailed approach to a meta-campaign. On a larger scale and with some roleplaying elements there's the Onion Wars and at divisional scale there's my own little fictional operation that I'm working on called the Battle of Syroj Novichok here. For single player campaign fun, ROQC is an excellent spreadsheet based system.
  16. It's connected maps of 1.2 sqkm each. I did the operational map first and then started designing the CM:BB maps from it. There's a mountain of work to get this sort of thing up and running so I'm glad to say Sgt_Kelly is doing some maps and co-GM'ing. I like your Excel idea for coming up with the 'strat map'.
  17. I've been working on this very idea myself for a small while. The system is entirely web-based. The site is still under construction, and the rules have not been ironed out or tested yet, but anyone is welcome to take a look and let me know what they think. Unfortunately the bookkeeping pages won't be readily available as they're protected for the players only. This game is divisional level and so will only have 4 players per side, but if it works and the players enjoy it I'll certainly consider expanding the size. You can find it here.
  18. Also, pulling his leg might make the bells sound, thus radically increasing his likelihood og being spotted!
  19. I'll tell you what I *will* be playing...Rome: Total War! Just read a preview of this game and it looks like it has a lot of the bells and whistles we want from the next CM engine. I played Shogun a lot, but the feature I'm most excited about in Rome is the 3D strategic map, which apparently just zooms in when a battle is imminent  If the developers make this work well, then goodbye whatever social life I had left after I found CMBB!!!
  20. Hidden and Dangerous 2 and Call of Duty. Just discovered the delights of online multiplayer modes, so I'm busy getting capped...!
  21. I believe the experience level of the FO counts for both reducing delays and the accuracy of the bombardment.
