the stummel are really great to have in a pinch, but they are no substitue for real armor.
if you try to use them like tanks, they will die.
instead of 2 (or 3? or 4?) 75mm armed hts I'd rather take a STuH
-
I only seem to take abnormally high losses when I would expect them in reality ( storming a 1919 position over 40m of open ground with a platoon, 1919 routed my platoon )
-
Of course, that would make my favorite vehicle, the STuH-42, that much rarer
-
Of course my system would have several factors
example, you could be restricted to buying high, low or medium quality tanks ( tiger = high, panther = high, mkIV = med, pzII = low ) etc.
-
I think there could be another way of buying things, instead of using points, it would allow you to buy a number of formations.
example
1 infantry company, 4 support teams one FO and a platoon of tanks
instead of 2000pts

@Kingfish
AFAIK those SMG squads are in CMBB and CMAK

HEAT rounds do not melt through armor in any way. HEAT is really a misnomer, most people see it as HEAT = high temperature
HEAT, shaped charge, hollow charge, it's all the same. It's basically a HE round with a cone in one end of the round. The explosion collapses the cone into a fast moving ( but solid ) slug ( 11km/s ) that drills through armor.

I've had 88mm L/56 bounce of the vanilla shermans (NON-JUMBOS) in the Knifefight at Cecnia or whatever it's called
luckiest shot ever, my sherman had presented itself to the tiger, I thought it was a goner. The Tiger fired and hit the front hull which was about 10 degrees visible or something
but it bounced
and the Sherman fired, and the Tiger brewed up

The german remotes have periscopes. I also believe it is possible to rotate it 360, but I don't think you'd be able to aim it all the way around ( obstructions inside the crew compartment etc. )
high-tech modern versions use cameras and video screens.

Pak40, MG42 and flamethrower team
heh

Will it be in the finished product?
shouldn't it make the T-72 much more resistant towards KE projectiles?

I believe Sealion would have been a very good way to destroy the Royal Navy, if the Fritz X and the Henschel anti-shipping missile ( which sunk Roma ) were ready in 1940
A huge aerial fleet of He-111 or FW-200 which launch 200+ missles and bombs.... no way AA is going to get them all.
{EDIT} I did it in Hearts of Iron before
I scraped together a huge fleet of all my ships and destroyers with my transport boats so I could send 6 panzer divisions across the channel into Plymouth
I had recently destroyed the RAF, and had built 7 squadrons of naval bombers, the royal navy never had a chance

when you have 6 million enlisted men, it's hard to give them all motorcars to ride around in.

sanok realize that if the russians have longer reaction times so will your troops

@Gpig
thanks!
@noone in particular
I think the movement should stay the same, but the squad would use an AI to put the elements in the squad in what it thinks is the most favorable situation.

From a marketing standpoint, I would guess aOriginally posted by Flammenwerfer:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by Battlefront.com:
Winter 2005/2006 is still our target. One thing that I will say that CMx2's first release will NOT be is CMAK's theater. That just doesn't make any sense from a marketing standpoint

Wouldn't one issue be repetition of the visual?Originally posted by Le Tondu:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by Battlefront.com:
1:1 representation sure does open up a big can of worms.............
.............Obviously, if you are smart you'll see that we're not going to implement 1:1 control, but are going to do 1:1 visual and 1:1 modeling. The results should make the game more fun to play and also far more realistic. There will be issues we need to work through to make sure it all works happily together, but that's the sort of thing you guys pay us for when you buy the game
Steve
I'm thinking of the arrangement of the individual men while on the map. Say you look at a squad from overhead. Might not the arrangement of the individuals look the same as another squad a short distance away? Is it possible to have enough variety? Lastly will it be scalable like the current representation of a squad with 3 men or 2? If we like the current 3 man squad, can we still have it?
I wish you all the very best. I know that you'll kick ass. </font>

I'd actually like the team to not release any screenshots or concrete evidence
suprise us with a demo when you think you're ready

with 1:1 this can happen
random squad member is selected and that member goes and get the HHL, PWM1, Faust, Satchel etc whatever and runs up to the tank and blows it up
there would be a small chance that that man could be gunned down on the way, right now it's abstracted as a 30m range and a long delay to "fire" the HHL, satchel etc.
or
a squad advancing, you'd be able to see the individual fireteams leapfrogging each other

Redwolf
Nvidia says that the 6x00 series ( GT and above ) REQUIRE a independent large 12v molex for each connection on the card
the only other thing those 12v lines can be used for is fans.
{EDIT} they are putting a stop on it, by migrating to PCI-Express

yeah come to think about it the only time I've attacked with Italians and won ( the only game with Italians that I've won ) is when I bought a 149mm FO
