according to the manual only the AT-3 without SACLOS guidance has this problem

i think my Syrians are daft, they can't spot anything
a T-72 with the commander out will take almost five seconds to realize theres a M1A1 sitting 200m away with it's flank beautifully presented, and before it even spots it, it goes up in flames
mind you this is the demo scenario
like wise my BMP-1s can't seem to see anything at all, and there doesn't seem to be any tacAI
is the demo broken?

they all are shaped charge except the top-down variant (which would form even less blast towards the bottom of the T-72 and is still in practice shaped charge). i guess the bunker buster would have greater blast effect, but i am still skeptical (and why would a Bradley use it against a T-72?). </font>Originally posted by undead reindeer cavalry:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by rune:
Depends on the model of TOW.

^ depends on what kind of rifle grenade you're firing, from what rifle and what country it originated it, and what doctrine it was supplied with
German rifle grenades were fired directly at the target, much like the M203 is ( the Germans even had a really complicated sight for this, but also a simple ladder type sight )
I'm not sure on the US rifle grenades

when do pre-orders end? i get paid on the 6th

well they aren't IFVs and shouldn't be used as such

from what i've read the 25mm bushmaster with AP round can penetrate up to 90mm of armor in ideal conditions ( i think it was the steelbeasts forum )

oh really, sounds sweet

I recall reading an old field manual that contained diagrams for all sorts of weapon systems ( circa 1985 )
The manual did not recommend firing on a BMP from the front sector with a LAW for various reasons
- Extreme angle of the armor
- Turret usually oriented towards the front
-
Panzerfaust 150 was used in the field.
-
Holo the Abrams uses HEAT as a dual purpose anti-infantry/anti infantry
i do recall seeing two pictures of the fragmentation pattern of a german 75mm HE round and a 75mm HEAT round, there isn't much of a difference.
i.e. its not worth carrying three types of ammunition when you only have so much storage space.

back in my day there weren't demos, there was shareware!

Silent Storm was pretty fun, i felt so cool when i got my hands onto the ZB26 for some reason.

All those voices were taken ( stolen? ) from Call of Duty 2
COD2 was very interesting becuase the soldiers do give each other information

The French Char B1 bis could pivot turn with great accuracy, in order to aim the 75mm hull gun which was in a mount that could only elevate.

Calling the Aerosan "fancy" is like calling a bayou airboat "fancy"

I come from 5 years of WWIIOL, so the word "soon" has no meaning to me
could be a week, could be three years.

the marine in the tape isn't hit with an AK ( 7.62x39 ) he was hit with an SVD ( 7.62x54r ) which makes the armor that much more impressive
the plates are Level IV armor which is rated to take one (1) 30-06 AP round before failing

electrically fired meaning solenoid activated
it does have a trigger ( it was flex-mounted in some bombers ) , but in fixed aircraft mounts it must be fired via a solenoid because the pilot doesn't have access to the trigger.
Are units seeing things I'm not?
in Combat Mission Shock Force 1

in the demo i can have a T-72 with the commander out on the hill on the right, with a M1A1 barreling along with it's weak flank exposed
i just played the mission where the T-72 was in position for at least 15 seconds before it blew up , and it never saw the abrams, whilst the rest of my force was sending AT-4C , AT-4A ( my BMPs took a while to spot the abrams as well ) and RPGs at the tank
whats wrong with my demo, i really can't believe that a unbuttoned commander can't spot an M1A1 about 200m away in an open field!
