  1. Hi Soddball Little Pete answered your post already some posts above. Don't think I should comment it any further. Feldtrompeter
  2. Hi Little Pete I would also have liked it if they had included the Maus. As for historical accuracy: It was build during WW II and thus could have been included in CM. There must be a line drawn to define which vehicles to include and which not, true, but I don't see a reason why that has to exclude the Maus when other vehicles like the Stalin III are included that most likely never seen combat in WW II as well. Doing the graphics and making the research neccessary won't be that big deal either. It would have been nice to see how the Maus would have worked in some fictional scenarios. Thatis also why I hate that BF did not include the Königstiger and the better American tanks in CMAK. They might have never seen action during the Italian campain but yet it would have been possible if the decisions would have been made. Feldtrompeter
  3. Hi Pzgndr You are correct, the supply will be the same for German and Italian units if near a German HQ. I had readiness in mind ... sorry Feldtrompeter
  4. I tried it out: German HQ do supply Italian Units.
  5. HI KDG You can give it the ultimate try: Invade the african part of Vichy with only one Italian unit. Don't attack the Corps in Algier. Then in the next turn your supply will be 0. Now do the same sending one German HQ along with the Italian unit. If the Italian unit will have a supply greater than 0 in the second turn, you'll have the answer. Personally I think the German HQ will supply the Italian unit, but not as much as it will supply a German unit, because the class of the HQ will not be considered in the supply calculation. Try it out Feldtrompeter
  6. Hi FriendlyFire You misunderstood Bill. Of cause, if you move into a russian city with an italian unit the city will belong to Italy and hence the MPPs. But if you OPERATE (that's what Bill said) then it is different. If Germany captures a city in Russia and later an italian unit is OPERATED into that city, the city still belongs to Germany despite the italian unit on top of it. And besides: The question of building units in Russia was not discussed with regards to the possession of russian cities but with regards to a DIRECT HEX-CONNECTION from capital to the city in question. It is possible that Germany possesses ALL the western russian cities and still will not be able to build units on them even if the cities are 5 MPP cities. If there is no connection to Berlin, building of units in occupied cities won't work. Feldtrompeter
  7. Hi Oak Yes, that is correct. For instance if Germany gets Yugoslavia, the Albanian city and port go up from 5 MPPs to 10 MPPs but Italy cannot build units in that city since there is no direct connection to Rom. Likewise it can happen that Germany cannot build units in Russia if there is no direct connection from Berlin to that particular city. Feldtrompeter
  8. Pzgndr posted: "Plunder obviously goes to whoever captures a capital city, but after that MPP sharing can occur simply by changing hex control." I don't think that is correct. Of cause the plunder goes to whoever captures a capital. But after the surrender the color of the cities and recources of that defeated country won't change unless the enemy reconqueres it. So if Youguslavia i.e. is taken by German forces and Germany gets the plunder, Italy will never be able to get MPPs from Belgrad no matter how much they march into Belgrad and how long they place an italian unit on top of Belgrad. Feldtrompeter
  9. I think the MPPs of a city/recource go to that country to whose color it belongs to. So if a german unit captures Kiev for instance and later an italien corps is operated to Kiev to protect it, the MPPs still go to Germany (color won't change). Only if the italian unit marches into the city, the color changes and the MPPs will then go to Italy. That's basically what Pzgndr said . Building of units, however, requires a direct connection to the capital. So if Italy should control Kiev it cannot build units there unless there is a direct hex connection from Rom to Kiev consisting exclusively of italian controlled hexes. Feldtrompeter
  10. Hi Zapp You are right indeed that the topic „Punktevergabe bei SC” is a very recent thread. But the subject dealt with relates back to the thread “Aktionsbonus” opened on 11.11.2003. If you would go back to that thread and read starting from Terif’s second post onward you will see that we discussed the role of SC in the PL already back then. The problem is basically this: Player PG plays only the traditional game Panzer General 3D Player SC plays only SC. 1) Both win the two games within a PL match. Player PG gets max. 10 points at the most (which is unlikely). Player SC gets 22 points. 2) Both loose the two games within a PL match. Player PG gets min 1 point. Player SC gets min 4 points. Now look at this: a) Player SC plays against an opponent and their usual games lasts in general till 1946 or about 100 turns in PBEM. Player SC plays 10 matches and looses all the time badly. He collects 40 points in the PL. Player PG plays 10 matches against an opponent and looses badly as well. He collects 10 points in the PL. So both players have played 10 games but player SC gets more points for his losses than player PG. But that is no problem: Since a SC game of player SC lasts about four times longer than the games of player PG, player PG is able, if he likes to, to play 40 matches in the time player SC plays his 10 matches an thus to collect as many points as player SC. Player SC plays against an opponent and their usual games last till fall of 1940 or about 20 turns in PBEM. Player SC plays 10 matches and wins them all. He collects 220 points. Player PG plays 10 matches and wins them all collecting 7 points average per match. He collects 70 points. Both players have played 10 games in the same time. But player SC gets about thrice the points player PG receives. That is what we call discrimination. And this is the problem currently discussed in the PL. It is true that I brought that topic up again in the thread you referred to because of the AAR you and Rambo posted here at Battlefront. And it is also true that the quote you posted was about you and Rambo. But the problem that I described above needs to be fixed even if it weren’t you but others who play mini matches. It is NOT to diswelcome you in the PL. The opposite is true. We simply need to find some regulations that guarantee a fair treatment of all players in the PL. You are NOT cheating. The rules in the PL cannot handle at this time that in SC mini games and maxi games are possible. And that is surely NOT your fault. Feldtrompeter
  11. Hi Zapp Who is that? I follow the PL forum quit regularly and I sure haven't come across that guy. The things discussed in the PL forum relate more to the problems arising in the PL from the integration of SC in general into the PL. It's not about you, Rambo or anybody else. There are other games that are traditionally played in the PL and the league was designed for them. Now that SC is integrated problems arise that may lead to a discrimination of those players in the PL that still play those other games exclusively. That discussion in the PL forum arose for the first time before you and Rambo even enterred the league. It was brought to attention after Terif crushed his first opponents in record time. What happened now is that that same subject was brought again to notice and some solutions got to be found. Feldtrompeter
  12. Hi all I don't know if this has been mentioned or asked before but I sure like to have this included in SC2: A considderably improved report window. Things I would like to see: 1) Losses listed seperately for GB / USA / USSR / FR / allied minors / GER / Italy / axis minors plus a general loss report listing axis and allied losses as it is now. 2) Losses not stated in the catagories ground / air / sea, but in the actual types of units: corps, armies, tanks, rockets, HQs (with the mames), airfleets, bombers, cruisers, battleships, carriers, subs. I'm often finding myself sitting infront of the computer, having paper and pencil ready to put down, what specific unit I kill. I think a better report would be a great help. What do you think? Feldtrompeter
  13. I have to correct what I said about carriers in the PL. It is allowed to attack units at a coast hex but not units on inland hexes. Except the opponents agree to allow both.
  14. Hi Rambo No, no. There is but one rule in the PL and that is RRI. In my last game I simply mentioned to my opponent that I don't mind allowing the other "features" and since he did not complain, only RRI is forbidden in our game. It's thus simple. I have not played a game yet in the PL where any of 2) - 6) wasn't allowed. Concerning: 2) AA-Bug is not banned. It is up to the players. But before you haven't talked to your opponent and made sure that it's ok with him, you are not allowed to cause interception while benefiting from AA. Of cause you can research AA and use it for defense only. 3) I don't know myself. They have worded it kind of loose and I can't tell you for now. But I have asked them in the PL forum, so no need to worry about RACK for know. 4) No, that's in general. But remember it's up to the players wheather they allow it or not. 5) You can't send your troops located at a port into sea-transporters and unload them in the same port at the same turn just to increase their attack value. But you may unload units send in from other ports and attack imediatelly. 6) It's up to the players to allow it or forbid it. Feldtrompeter PS: Sorry, I don't know the movie.
  15. Hi Dragonheart Yes, I do know Rambos skills. Terif lost 4 games in total so far IIRC and Rambo got 50% of those games on his account. Especially if he is on vacation, has had enough sleep and listens to Nena's 99 Luftballons. Rambo never looses under those conditions and Terif is toast if Rambo is preparred. Feldtrompeter
  16. And there is one thing to be aware of in the PL: The league was made to have fun and enjoy the games and not to annoy others by using gamey tactics. That's why several "features" of SC are forbidden except the players agree to allow them. 1) Rom-Gambit (strickly forbidden). 2) Benefiting from the AA-Bug. 3) Attack coastal ground forces with Carriers. 4) Transport and unload in one turn. (London, Kiel, Manchester, etc.) 5) Using ports to attack with maximum attack values. 6) Air attacks on HQs. Before you start a game in the PL you should first contact your opponent and agree on how you deal with number 2) - 6). Feldtrompeter
  17. Hi Rambo The possible outcomes (in points) in a PL-SC-mirrorgame are as follows: 22:4 if you win both games (one as Axis and one with the Allies). 15:6 If you win one game and play a draw in the other. 13:9 If you win one game and loose the other but accomplish your victory faster. 10:10 if both win their game in the same turn. 9:9 if both games end up as a draw. Bids are optional and scenarios up to the players. But still it has to be played in a mirrored mode. Feldtrompeter
  18. Hi Haplo The CDV Version has a TCP problem that isn't fixed yet. So that's a plus for your version from Battlefront. But I also wondered why the CDV version is so much cheaper than the Battlefront copy. But nontheless: CMAK is great! Feldtrompeter
  19. Hi Dragontiger When you declare war on a country it is asumed that the attacked country is not prepared to meet your aggression strait away. That's why swedish and russian air forces don't intercept on turn one. You need some air recon and warning systems that alarm your air and send them up on the spot. A country that is still neutral won't do that intensivly enough to be able to intercept. Feldtrompeter [ December 16, 2003, 06:49 AM: Message edited by: Feldtrompeter ]
Feldtrompeter
  22. It is possible that you have different versions installed. In some recent games my opponents had a different version and when I put his file into the PBEM folder and started the game I couldn't find the file listed in the PBEM directory of SC. When he updated his version it worked. You should also make sure that the file's ending is .sav Once I renamed an oponent's filename and tried to load it in the PBEM directory when I found out that I couldn't see it . Then I checked the filename and added .sav to it and magically it appeared in SC thereafter. Feldtrompeter
  23. Other historical alternatives: 1) If GB falls and the US hasn't declared war yet, the US war readiness is set to 0% and she stayes out of war except for a German DOW. 2) If Norway is taken by the Axis and UK surrenders there's an 75% chance of Sweden joining the Axis. 3) If the Axis places 5 Units at the Yuguslavian border during 1941 the Pro Allied Coup won't happen. 4) When Greece is taken by the Axis and there are no allied forces in the Med then there is an 30% chance of Turkey joining the Axis and a 50% chance of Yugoslavia joining the Axis. 5) When the Axis takes Riga there is a 50% chance of the baltic states being liberated by Germany and joining the Axis. 6) When the USA joins the allied union a pop-up window apears and the Axis player chooses wheather Japan invades the USSR. If so, the Siberians won't come. 7) If Turkey joins the Axis or surrenders to Germany then there is a 70% chance of Iraq becoming a Axis fellow state. 8) Feldtrompeter
  24. Hi Kinky "feldtrompeter can you please do that ? cause i don't speak german. i hope we can play soon i'll download the patches right now" The problem was your version of SC. The German version is compatible - but only with the latest english version. Your last file worked . Feldtrompeter
  25. Hi all Kinky and I have the problem with PBEM. I have the updated German version v1.07g of SC. Has anybody ever had a problem playing PBEM against somebody having my version? I heard that the German version is compatible with the english one. Comments are appreciated. Feldtrompeter [ October 17, 2003, 12:55 PM: Message edited by: Feldtrompeter ]
