  1. I mourn the loss of the old anthology, but it was suggested a new one be created. I'll update links regularly and really appreciate links that may be posted, so if you have a good thread for strategy then post it below. 2. Thanks a ton, I had the extracting into the BMP folder thing wrong. I love my new sky mod, yea, I'll get others too but no rush. Thanks a ton.
  3. I installed CMBO and CMMOS on my new hard drive. I figured it would be fun to give it a try so I'm trying to start by installing some sky mods for the game. I installed CMMOS, the lasted one from CMHQ, then I got the terrain ruleset, then I downloaded the different sky mods and put them in the CMBO/MODS folder of the CMMOS directory. I have tried and tried but cannot figure out how to add the zip files to CMMOS. I tried configure, mods, and then to add the zip. I tried selecting the specific ruleset and selecting the corresponding mod file (it gives me an installation error and refers me to the log where it eventually says ruleset not found). Help a person out, I have tried for a bit, I read the manual and it says how, but it's not seeming to work. What could I have done wrong?
  4. What do you mean it was? It still is. The game is still just fine and gets better all the time. 1.10 is coming soon with Light Machine Guns, Cargo ships, the M43A Stuart, the sdkfz 251 halftrack, dust clouds for moving vehicles, a new damage model to make planes react better to damage, etc...
  5. They convinced me to buy this game too. I was even warned once to run for it. I couldn't resist. The game is great, people friendly, on the other hand...I'm 16 and I'm not a potential grog. I'm a full blown numskull. You name it, I've forgotten it. Some people learn vocabulary and new things. I forget things instead of learning them.
  6. Okay then, I got what I figured. I wanted it out of stores heck yea. I never owned CM:BO and I didn't want to pay 7 dollars shipping while having to download tons of stuff on top of that. I have cable...but who wants to go downloading all that stuff? Now I own both games and can be happy! Who's up for a game? Manual..pft!
  7. Okay, so I bought CM:BB first...I liked it. I played it, I will continue to play it. So I decided what the heck when I saw CM:BO in the stores as a special edition I'd heard about. But I'm told by something that because its the CDV version its buggy? Whats buggy? It works fine, I didn't know there were two versions. Help explain this to me please?
  8. Nippy, WWII Online is doing just fine thankyou. Small bump at first *understatement* but now its rolling. Try once 1.9 comes out, you'll change your mind.
  9. Thanks for the very interesting information. Maybe they will have that in CMX2, Just make the tank a heavy projectile!
  10. I'm playing this scenario now. I'll tell you whether it means Combat Recon where Russian wins or Combat Recon where Germans win. Great map... Its a Russian victory. Hurrah! [ May 27, 2003, 07:40 PM: Message edited by: PoppinHobbit ]
  11. Correct, frame rates were atrocious for me as I played Barbarossa to Berlin with the 43.45's and I was worried about that. But now, what luck! My game arrived about 2 days ago and I could play. I was happy, but not the frame rates are actually smooth and I can set up at more than 2 frames a second and enjoy large glorious battles. I'm absolutely elated!
  12. Thankyou kindly. A nice convienent read. Good way to pass the time as I wait to head over to a LAN party. Thanks again!
  13. I don't have my game yet, it just shipped today. By itself, with no comparison, the tank looks wonderful. I can't wait to try it!
  14. Okay, sorry for posting so much. This should be the last. I'll just index the post and hold Krazy Canuck to that game! I load up my computer, download the Frontline demo(which completely blows). Combat Mission Beyond Overlord too. I turn off my anti-aliasing...install Beyond Overlord. I load it up and it works perfectly, no black screen, no slow frames...wow. I turn anti-aliasing back on...no problem still. I install CM:BB Demo, load it up and it works perfectly! I have no idea what happened but I'll accept it. Now I shall commence weedling a credit card number from my parents. I have a whole slew of begging, bribes, and good behavior to sway them over. Cya on the battlefield!
  15. My video card happens to be 4X AGP. I'm going to download Beyond Overlord now. I'm going to see if I can get either demo to work now that I have antialiasing off by default. If that doesn't work, off to new drivers I go! Gotta at least give this game a chance, new drivers never do anything for my anyways. Edit: I forgot to mention. I really appreciate how nice everyone is being. Is there something I'm missing. I've never met forums as nice as this before. Theres no one fighting or acting like a moron...whats up with that? 16. For the knowledge of when this problem occured. I had a computer that I rebuilt a while ago. Combat Mission worked on this computer. But I upgraded this computer from my Geforce 2 to a Geforce 4 ti4200P and rebuilt the system during the process. So the problem is my graphics card, what specifically? Maybe I'll try the 30.82 drivers? I don't know for sure. I have DirectX 9 and all windows updates.
  17. One last thing. After reading the newbie thread. It is correct that I may only purchase this thing off this website? No stores at all legally carry copies? Theres almost no way my parents will let me order off the internet after all the stupid troubles other companys like electronic arts have given me. Or things like World War II online billing me for a free trial. Just making sure, are any future releases of the game planned to show up in stores? Edit: I don't think I will purchase this game. As the forums have not carried a solution to my problems. Updating drivers and using windows update helped. I got into Combat Mission after freezing my computer several times at Black loading screens and alt tabbing in and out to get the menus to display. The one time I did get in the game was going so slow, something like 5 fps that it was hard just to watch. I don't think its going to run on my computer. Shucks... 18. Okay, I downloaded the CM:BB Single player demo and it installed fine. The problem is when I load it up the screen is just...black. I hit ctrl+alt+delete to close it and I see the main menu flash. So its working to an extent. But I can't get the thing to work normally, even when I maximize it again. Total and complete black. I have Windows XP Professional. Suggestions?
  19. Hi everyone, I'm a 16 year old kid who got into simulations about a year ago with IL-2 Sturmovik and recently Forgotten Battles. I've watched the Battlefront games for a while and I can't decide if I should buy one or not. I don't have a lot of money, but I should be getting a job this summer (3 weeks) . I really feel as if I buy too many computer games though, so I'm not sure if I should splurge again...like always. The main questions: When does Special Edition come out in stores? Would anyone be willing to chat about the game and play multiplayer with me? Is it worth getting, or would getting Barbarossa to Berlin be better? What should I do about my problem of buying too many games (off topic). [ May 05, 2003, 10:33 PM: Message edited by: PoppinHobbit ]
