And for completeness the other 3 icons are:

- Battle Type: general setting depicting the type of battle and which side is the attacker or defender. Options include Assault,Attack, Probe and Meeting Engagement.

It's in mine - on page 22 under "Parameter Icons":Originally posted by Michael Dorosh:I don't see that icon on my mousepad. Or for that matter, in my manual.
Battle Size: indication for the battle size, i.e. the amount of units, size of map, and duration. Options range from Tiny all the way to Huge as shown the by number of soldiers depictedin the icon.

Do all requests have to be official now?

That's what a Hunt command combined with a target arc is supposed to do. From the manual:Originally posted by missinginreality:I moved a squad around a corner towards an Opfor squad. HUNT command, short arc. Yes they definitely spotted all the Opfor units outside of the arc, the small target arc kept them from engaging BUT the small target arc also kept them from responding as per HUNT so they just kept on walking, not engaging the enemy outside their target arc nor stopping so it all ended very ugly.
"Hunt - Infantry - this command maximizes the unit’s awareness for possible
enemy contact. Soldiers are advancing slowly, weapons
ready. Upon seeing any enemy units, the unit stops immediately.
This is a good command to use when enemy contact is
imminent. In combination with a Target Arc command, Hunt is
restricted to only the area within the arc, and ignores enemy
units from outside the arc."

You could also turn off unit icons and stick to level one view if that floats your boat. Your choice. Options are optional.Originally posted by gibsonm:Well personally I don’t see the point of making the trees “go away” either. To me it gives a false amount of control and observation.

Agreed - the smoke looks great. For ease of giving orders though it would be nice to turn it off for a short time.
-
No it's not the idea. There is a toggle for tree display in this game for a reason. For similar reasons it would be great if there was one for smoke.Originally posted by missinginreality:yes it made things a lot harder to see and order but as gibsonm said, isn't that the whole idea?

The previous games had such a toggle...for a reason.Originally posted by gibsonm:Um sorry not meaning to be smart but isn’t that the whole idea?

I tend to agree that roofs (and balconies) at the moment seem to be death traps. Maybe it's the lack of top cover that is being modelled?
-
Indeed - why not!Originally posted by c3k:Why can't we delete them using the saved game menu in the game?

Finished the Prologue last night - great stuff.

Neat! Thanks to you.

Have you tried the Delete button?

It seems recently every time I have an idea - you have written it down first :mad:Originally posted by thewood:I still wonder if there is some issue with early map builds. I seem to have more problems with maps that came with the game than ones I build myself.

I had big problems with 169.25 in a few games. Rolled back to 163.75 and all is well for me.

Looks great - I'll give this one a go at weekend - cheers!
-
I agree - want to get on with campaign now I'm happy with general play.
