You guys are so weird...

Shameless self-promotion, from the modern perspective with Sgt. Squarehead's 'The Hornet's Nest'.

CMFI Module, and CMSF2.
Welp, that's two things I'm going to buy instantly. -

Oh man, this is your hell month! Good luck, SLIM Kringle.
Mord.
Reports of my death were greatly exaggerated.
I'm back.
Here's something to laugh at:

If anyone ever wonders why there aren't more bones, here is the reason.
No good deed goes unpunished, especially on the internet.

I see it has already been covered.

I think something worth noting, is how the conversion will affect the equipment quality settings.
I really wish we could have some type of dev blog, which elaborates on such things. -

@SLIM It's already on cmmodsiii. Link: http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/?p=2566
Nice. I had tried to search the site for it, without any luck.
Thanks for posting the link. -

Thanks to SLIM for the idea and BarbaricCo for making it known it was possible to mod the shader.
I'd almost forgotten about this.
I guess I need to bookmark this for CMSF2.
I don't suppose a version is floating around that could be uploaded to CMMODS? -

To whom it concerns: Peter Padfield's "Battleship" gives a very interesting overview of the development of battleships from the 1850's (ok, he even starts a little earlier with sailing ships in the 16th century, but touches the Age of Sail only briefly) to modern times.
I just nabbed this as an e-book, thanks for the recommendation.

I hand her the book and she looks at it, sets it down on the bar, opens it up and presses down on both sides really hard and cracks the spine so it won't shut.
I have physically assaulted someone for doing exactly that. I won't go into details.
QuoteAnd like me, when you see that book sitting on your shelf you smile and are comforted knowing you finally added to your collection.
Absolutely. Even with some books I haven't had time to read yet, just being able to turn my head and see them on my shelf gives me a sense of satisfaction.

That's why I started buying e-books.
I have books under my bed, in my laundry basket, in my bureau, stacked in the corner of my room, on the floor of my closet, on two shelves in my closet, on my computer desk, and also filling a large steamer trunk and two large plastic tote containers.Mind you, I don't even own the house I live in, I'm just renting a room. I've been told that if I buy more books, I'll be charged for storage.
They're only half-kidding.
I'll be off for a while, work is work after all. Have a Merry Christmas everyone.

I am such a stingy b****** I won't even lend mine out! Two reasons. One is that I've learned that I will either never get them back, or get them back in worse shape than they left.
If I ever intend to loan out a book, I purchase a second copy and give it as a gift.

It's even better when they do it from a jeep...

As others have said, stop the truck first, then you can dismount.
If it's an extreme emergency, click the circle X button to order a halt, and command both the truck, and it's passengers to dismount. That will guarantee the truck stops moving, unless he's completely panicked.

You will also see this behavior when soldiers are running, then slow down to stop. They will appear to "slide" into position.
There is only three animations for movement, Walk, Hunt, and Run.
When soldiers are "in between" the movement speeds specified for each movement type, you will see some irregularities as the engine compensates.
This is all normal. Do not adjust your television. -
I'm on the third episode now, it's pretty damn great.

Looks like they farmed a bunch of kit and actors from Generation Kill.
I'll check it out. -

There was an old Amiga500 game where each of your little dead soldiers would get a little cross on a hill on the opening screen.
As you kept playing, the number of crosses would grow.Old games often have an artistry not seen anymore.
Pity, because that is some heavy sh*t. -

Agreed. It just seems the right thing to do. Maybe in CM3 that could make a difference. Hopefully. BF makes notes on all ideas and will implement what is practical.
If I know these guys at all, they have a thousand page document with every single idea ever posited on the forums floating around somewhere.

Buddy Aid makes me feel better, so the fact it doesn't actually make a difference to the game score is irrelevant.
At least, in my opinion... -

How does Men of War compare to CM?

My abiding memory from Men of War was running out of ammo, and spending more time scrounging ammo and gear from dead bodies than actually playing the game.
