  1. Well, you know, I don't personally care about public postings on SC at the moment. Most of the good stuff has been posted and read already. It's only killing the community not to have Rambo here. The fact is he probably ran into a new or a very anal moderator and that's life sometimes. No stress, water under the bridge. I had some karmic concerns about some stuff I did to battlefront now I feel karmafree They peed on a bud, now I'll just leave my negativity unchecked. Plus new opportunity and money out of my decisionmaking on a particular subject! was going to give BF Free advertising in exchange for something on a thousand or two proggies don't think they need it or they'd accept it too anal
  2. Terif, agreed 100% the London Protection is vital to the survival of England. However how many Allies use the feature in that particular fashion? I don't know very many. If you played very poorly and England falls it's because you overdedicated in France. Then use of London is a pure Bug. 99% of the time it's used to get the +1 and place 2 UK Fighters in London and Hex South of it early and prevent a Fall of France or to hopefully along with a 2 star Carrier by late France to knock out a Luftlotte or two<or at least to damage them and delay till Oct. And force a Axis loss early>. Sounds to me as if it's a gamey plus1. I'd personally rather see that Germans recieved a Plus1 as well to prevent this sort of Air Exchange which is both ahistorical and would help Germans from giving Allies SuperCarriers too early on when they're powerless to counter them. Making the game more pure strategy and less Gameyness<early French Campaign Gambit> In the Rome Gambit we outlawed Majors Landings, this mainly applied to Riga and sense most of us didn't land a corps near Leningrad it really is sort of an appeasement. I See the same thing with the AA Bug over London. You could argue that Germany has access to many more Cities but truly the Germans rarely get Longe Range so they wouldn't really benefit. The UK stands to benefit with US as well in as many ways, plus the game now would become a Pure Russian War and less a French one Paris and LC<outlawing use of the French mine as a fighter base which wouldn't be impossible> is about the Max you'll get as Axis
  3. should be +1 AA for Germany, they had the 88 gun, they also had some intricate AA Defense grids in comparison with the Allies they were formidable IMO Not only that but now that AA is outlawed, the UK/USA still always has the bonus 1 it gets from it's cities. I miss having AA defense for my ports and resources too. They help when defending, I personally feel that it would be nice to have no stationing Fighters in city/resources/etc.. to be a kewl move as well..Not for offensive operations anyways. That way a UK Carrier can't come in and kill a LW Fighter on a AA4 City or Resource as easy.. and that fighter can use it as a defenive weapon<I liked the defensive feature personally and didn't know about the bug till ages after it first discovered> make for a funner game at least
  4. To add to the heroes of WW2, although my ole Grandpa Jack is now passed I will tell some of the stories I heard second hand. I didn't go to see him before his death due to the fact I didn't want to see him like that. Didn't feel it right. He was diving off a ship banged the back of his head up, busted it open was floating around the ocean for hours and hours. Lucky to come out alive, a guy pulled him out of the sea unconscious became his friend. Later he saw that same guy shredded up like in a cheesegreddar in by a Japanese Fighter on a AA gun. From what I know my Granpa spent the entire length of the war fighting<no tours like some nations got> Served in Burma and with Nepalese and Indian troops. He brought back an Indian Knife used for boomeranging Japenese Heads off. Life was tough in the Royal Navy, I know he served on a MineTrauler I'm sure that was suicide job! I bet the entry of America saved him so I'm around today or most of the UK troops over that region would've been toast after Australia-New Zealand and India was conquored. I have a large group of Family that Served in WW1 Trenches most of them didn't come home or died of Cancer very young. All Brit.. A Great Uncle at Dunkqurkue... Father served in the Gulf, talks about his stories avidly. He sat in front a Artillery Implacement<15-25 miles pointed directly at him> that was acknowledged despite what foreign and American press will tell you to have had Chem weapons. I'm not sure I remeber 100% for certian but I recall he told me they had a greenlight to fire them also. Something you Civilians don't know! He was a medic and a NCO but served doing higher junk all the time due to the fact he was competent. Mostly treated guys torn up by accidents and friendly fire. They really expected a **** storm. Never came... US Army is like Alexander's Greeks at this time and Age
  5. Axis are not unbeatable if the Allies do well in France and with tech. The Reds will merely sink all their chits into tech themselves and Fighters and hope for Level4 before it's too late. If you do not kill Reds then before a certian time you're dead cause their tech outweighs you so it's all a balancing game. The better French defenses you might get from another player aside could be very costly.. If you're delayed till October or even November<worst case the eve of '41> You've Zero chance of winning as Axis unless you're very lucky with the CookieCutter-Readiness Levels-Techs. Actually you'd have to have almost the ideal of conditions granted tactics were fairly evenly matched. Meanwhile I've always heard that Allies have flexible strategies because they can afford errors. If that means Axis cannot then why the extra cash? I think it's to make up for skill rather for actual balance
  6. From what I hear USA Armor was pretty fine. The figures also show you the factory power of the USA and Soviet Union. Compared to Germany who really never produced anywhere near the numbers either nation did once mobilized. The Germans as you can see obviously in their designs and numbers that they relied heavily on making a SuperWeapon rather than making a lot of a very fine weapon to destroy the enemy. SuperWeapons are great, but I feel if you have 10-15 tanks to counter that guy that are fairly competent it's power is balanced out. Russian Theory that persisted throughout the Cold War Era was a bit too much. Quantity vs Quality was such a huge deal with them that I feel they often shortchanged some neccessity items, which can be viewed in the 1st Gulf War. Anyone that knows anything sees where a lot of Russian Armor got Roasted like Marshmellows out in the Desert meanwhile our UberTech Tanks didn't really get scratched too much. Even though we definitely would be short then and today to fight in too many Theatres. Good question as to an intermediate piece of Armor balancing the best of Quality and Quantity? In WW2 I feel Americans did have that in the Sherman. Not a specialist on the Sherman, only thing it required was the gun.
  7. Alright new Power Rankings in #1 Terif the Jedi Master Yoda 900s years of experience, can't beat this man #2 DragonHeart, this solid Austrian is so cool you couldn't cut him if he was butter on a hot Austrian Day! #3 Rambo, His A-Game has been around lately. Hard to beat this guy if you make an error. You better not be fooling around with him. #4 Sombra, I'm in Game 2 vs him, he's pretty good. I think I'm going to take him though now after he delivered me in a rather bad French Campaign. #5 Liam & Cosmin. Cosmin is one diehard Romanian Fellow. I managed to knock out most of his German Fighters as Allies<I never manage to do this sort of thing except when I'm way too overconfidant, then he launches a counterstrike with Level 3 subs and levels the playing field> he's beaten me once, and we drawed the second time #6 Dalmatian, people need to teach him the tricks of the trade. He's good and noone has been telling him all the nasty little secrets we know he doesn't! This Croat, can kill if they're shown the light Sabre! Zapp is retired
  8. I found this set of facts to be very interesting! I definitely think a conquored people will serve their new Leaders, no matter what. Also that 1930s and 1940s average Man or Woman were not as highly educated as we are today. More illiterate, less Press, less overall awareness. I'm not trying ot use this as some sort of excuse. Although I highly doubt many of you could truly describe the difference between Socialist, Communist and Democratic Governments. Today!!! Let alone 60-70 years ago. These people were offered what in place of Hitler? You didn't get very far in Germany or Austria without swearing an Oath. If you protested I know what happened to you. So who of us would protest? We're Americans, we have a strong will, but I'm guessing that a majority of us wouldn't protest to strongly something that didn't seem all that bad at the time. Look at the persecutions and exceptions made for progress in our own Government. Often we question the morality and such of what happens here or there. What is the Average American truly aware of? How much inconvienence will he take in place of Freedom and individual rights. We settled a Utopia with some of the wisest minds in the World. Not to say that is all it takes to be a SuperPower. We are now in the process of proving ourselves. Not just to the world but to ourselves, in helping making the world a better place. Though we too, could destroy the world. As could some other nations. Wrong or Right, we in the end could be in the History books. And if we pressed the button we'd be seen as the craftsmen for an evil Design. I Think the basic figures, regardless of what is said about Americans.. Along with the USSR meant we had a Larger Army to deliver if we had the time to mobilize it. Noone could match us without stressing their manpower to make it appear that way on paper. Then it was missing elsewhere
  9. Oddly enough I'll bet as in SC1...SC2 will have Kamikaze as a strategy for that last ditch attempt to win. Don't you think there should be a penalty for a Unit that attacks and has a 100% chance of Dying to the General in Command? I mean come on.. Basic common sense Like the reduction of all Experience for that General
