The sad thing is...after F & R is released we are still 10+ additional releases short of being able to play the whole (or better part of) the eastern campaign...

I will probably be an old, drewling man...wetting myself before that happens...😖

Perhaps that's what worries me most, the slow rate of release. After all Fire and Rubble is just a MODULE, and not even very different from the base game.

Of course, this being a F&R thread, back to business.  Please oh please oh please let this ready for the rainy season (starts in earnest usually mid to late October).  Western Oregon can go weeks of endless cloudy/overcast and wet every day.

The waiting for this module has been ridiculously long. The delays countless and endless. The priority seems to have been low, although we are led to believe otherwise. My confidence in what we are told is nil. I'm too lazy to make a list of all promises and announcements concerning the expected time of release through the past few years, but I'm sure it's quite a list by now. Reminding BF about those promises often resulted in reactions of ridicule, irritation and hostility, but I'm past caring about that. The release dates of BF have become the laughingstock of wargaming sites like Wargamer.

Even now we've arrived in the autumn of 2020 we still know nothing about the period of release, apart from that it can go 'extremely fast' when all the work has been done. Which is basically the same story as we've been told in the beginning of the year. To me all this makes an impression of utter unreliability. Harsh words, but I have no others left for this company.

I'm truly amazed I'm one of the few people who's getting angry about all this. Perhaps it's just me and caring too much. I'm sure this will get me the usual Flak and I just don't care. Just finish the damn module!

Despite being decidedly mediocre for decades Bromley Dave and the Self-Publicists did hit the nail on the head with Rebel Rebel, the guitar riff still sounds great. And the lyrics, wow.

"Hot titties and worn out shoes. Barry Obama always sang the blues. Ribble valley, I kinda like your style. Ribble valley won't yer put it on trial?"

Please, can you continue this in another, appropriate thread? I would like to read about the game here.

Oh, actually I no longer need F&R.  I have plenty right here in Oregon.  My wife's manager's house burned down.  She volunteered at local evacuation center, one shaking family came in had barely escaped as they were chased down the road by fire.  Air is horrific, especially last week, though today air is only "unhealthy" which is better than previous "hazardous".  I think I have had enough fire & rubble for now.

I can imagine. Horrible situation. Poor people who lose all their belongings. Puts the endless delay of fire and rubble indeed in perspective.

that was a fender amp??  I'll be darned.  I thought sure it was a Vox.  My Vox sounds just like it I thought.  I have an AC15 (modern) and guitar w P90s instead of humbuckers but sure sounds similar.

Of course, this being a F&R thread, back to business.  Please oh please oh please let this ready for the rainy season (starts in earnest usually mid to late October).  Western Oregon can go weeks of endless cloudy/overcast and wet every day.

That would only be possible if BF drops the strange habbit of pre-ordering, which is highly unlikely.

It's been a coupla/few weeks since an update was made and that's too long. I have good news and I have bad news........

The bad news. As some may have guessed (and if you don't know what I'm referring to I invite you to explore the whole forum and you'll see what I mean....yes...I am being purposely obtuse) our special project has taken away assets that would otherwise be devoted to getting this module to you guys. That will end (for a while) in the next few weeks allowing full focus to be on this module.

The good news is that it hasn't taken all of the assets and things have not stopped moving forward.  The number of stand alone battles continues to grow. The campaigns are very far along and waiting for final TO&E to be finished. The only major formations that haven't been added are the Partisans. If they were in you'd see them in the screenshots below. There are a couple of other nice surprises that I will post as soon as I can get them displayed the way that I want to present them (one thing in particular).

I'm not going to venture a guess on the release but "very soon" and "very very soon" are not where we're at. But we are at "soon". In the meantime, here are a few things that you haven't seen before. Anyone know what they are?

but the october is Russian october(means november)

    😉

Who cares. Nothing to celebrate anyway. Whatever happens in Russia, there's never reason to celebrate in the West. They seem determined to make our lives miserable.

I don't blame you for thinking that. I know the feeling myself. I think it is more a case of Fire and Rubble being the main priority, its just a bunch of "pop up threats" keep appearing that have to be dealt with. Work on Fire and Rubble hasn't stopped or anything, it just can't get 100% of the attention all the time because other pressing things keep coming up.

I'm as happy as everyone else that things are going well for BF and I hope they will be able to expand  their business and make lots of money, a reward long overdue, since it's the best wargame around. But it sure is a frustrating wait for an old Eastfronter like myself. I appreciate your understanding though.

Still hoping for a release this (late) autumn. Hope springs eternal.

Can't speak to the rest of the stuff BFC has going on, but I do know that getting the game patches out took time away from the development of Fire and Rubble. Steve said himself that the time taken away was close to two months in an interview he gave recently.

Believe me, I would like to see Fire and Rubble out the door just as badly as you want it to be released and on your hard drive.

Of that I have no doubt. But everything seems to have priority over Fire and Rubble.

Poor BFC has been afflicted with an excess of good fortune lately. Worse, its been good fortune on a deadline! Their original plans & schedules didn't factor in the British Ministry of Defense popping up out of nowhere. They certainly didn't anticipate CMSF2 being sold on Steam! Yes, there's solid progress being made on finishing-up Fire and Rubble, but its progress punctuated by unexpected absences as one person or another disappears for a bit to answer another emergency fire alarm. The latest fire alarm is the unexpected format change to the discussion forum (note the new emojis). 😱

Not sure what you're trying to say, but I guess it comes down to more delay. As usual. 🤨

Just give us an update on the progress of the module.
