  1. Kingof the hill:- they are specially created mods by Eichenbaum to reflect the Crimean terrain present in the campaign he is developing..and rather great they are too !
  2. Just like to add a disclaimer before anyone tears my literature to pieces, i posted this AAR on the Storfang website for the design team, to encourage through some 'atmosphere'...i would have tidied it up a little if i had known it would go global !...so go easy on me ! ps the image of the pioneers assaulting the fort is superb !
  3. Cross of Iron is a great film and you can get it cheaply on DVD or video these days, sets the mood for some good CMBB battling! There are some great battle scenes in it. Got anymore info on the winter war film?..whats the proper title and is it in English or sub-titled ? Thanks.
  4. Top work Mikey D...first class as always Keep it up!
  5. If you thought the (so far) available Op battles are good, you wait till you get your hands on the Kuibeshevo battle part of Storfang that i and a few others have been priviliged to test....awesome, is a word that readily springs to mind !...the graphics and topography of the terrain are stunning and the challenge of the battle itself is inspiring. Kudos indeed.
  6. those winter mods look great ! Like the missing schurtzen. Thanks a lot.
  7. Spassibo...err, not! You speaking Russian these days Nils? Or did you take my advice on the vodka
  8. Looking great, superb running-gear (and i dont mean your trainers!) Some winterised versions would definitely be appreciated to go along with the great summer schemes...oh, and some dirt is a must ! Thanks.
  9. Definetely prefer the 'worn' battle tried Panthers !...some hasty whitewash sounds good too, as the only winter ones i have seen in various footage always look like that! Add some dirt, zimmerit and battle scars and it will be perfect! The factory fresh mods always look out of place when your viewing your battle files.
  10. Thanks Andreas for the information, any chance of posting a pdf of that chapter on Sevastopol op ? And Sven...do you not sleep at night !?...unit commanders as well !
  11. Does anybody have access to information on the dispositions of the 54 Armee Korps under Manstein during the June/July push on Sevastopol? Particularly time-scaled maps, articles on when such-&-such division took certain towns or crossed rivers like the Belbek ? All information would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
  12. Wow....nice looking castles & forts !....i do believe if there were 'Oscar' type awards for this game, your breathtaking terrain graphics would sweep the board ! BFC should be hiring you for terrain mod-packs ! Top work !!
  13. And just how am i supposed to get my panzers over that impassable terrain..heh ? Looks pretty daunting !...(unless your a mountain goat ! )...very impressive stuff.
  14. great work...heading for CMMods right now ! Thanks !
  15. Great AAR Trommelfeur !...you really went into detail and character...good job !
  16. Hmmm, i am still having major troubles with Cmbb & bo graphically freezing or crashing even with a system re-build and a Gainward 5200fx installed. All of my other 3d intense (1st person shooters, flight & racing sims) work fine. The problem seems to be when the ambient temperature of the room is higher than 'cold'. Surely these cards are built to work in all temps? and strange that its only with the CM games. Are there any known issues with an Nvidia/SBlive conflict with CM?..or is it purely graphics related? Its very frustrating as i have been playing these games since their first release.
  17. thanks for the responses guys, one pre-order heading BFC's way !..i too was less than impressed with CDV last time.
  18. Do/can i pre-order from BFC for the European release of CMAK or do i have to wait for it to get to British shops in CDV guise? and if the latter, when is the expected release date? thanks in advance. edit D'oh !..just read the pre-order bumpf so my next question is which is going to be the quicker? 19. My battle hardened Ost-front veterans will not be getting transferred to the Med front, though we may send a cadre of personnel to form a unit there ! We have our sights on Sevastopol !!
  20. I am after some 'high velocity' main gun sounds. After watching a load of actual combat footage of WW2 tanks in action, most of the guns had a kind of 'pis-ch-uuw' sound which really sounded, well ,'high velocity' ! rather than the 'krump' sound of CMBO & CMBB. I think there used to be a gun sound like that in East Front2. Any ideas if someone has produced a soundmod like that yet? I presume the sound would only apply to guns of 75mm (long barrel) upwards. The footage on various programmes showed the tanks of various nations having this sound when firing.

  22. Excellent work, the buildings look very realistic. Will they be CMMOS for fighting different localities ie Russia/Prussia ?
  23. Just to add my pennies worth, i too have had major problems with scrambled graphics in CMBB & BO using a Gainward Ti4200. I could never update the drivers as they made the game un-playable, i had to stick to 40.5.3 (i think..forgotten exactly) to play. I have just rebuilt and now have FX5200 card. I have still had a few random graphic lockups, only in CMBB, other graphic intense games like IL2 flight sim work fine. Elsewhere on this forum, people mention a Microsoft update for Nvidia drivers...anyone know this to be true?
  24. Great work Trommelfleur, thanks for the other links, looks like between us we found some great sources of information/inspiration for CM batttles both in the west & east!
  25. Some people may find this site an interesting one to visit and it may prove useful to scenario/operation creators as it has maps and useful descriptions. Enjoy ! http://www.army.mil/cmh-pg/books/wwii/20234/20234.html
