  1. Unless I'm missing something the .bmp numbering for CMBB seems off in your 2 mods? I compared your numbers to the default .bmps and the images don't line up. Thanks for the mods though! Jordan "AstroCat"
  2. Any chance of getting them in English, I'd love to take a look at them. What are using for your mods? Photoshop, PSP? Keep on modding ! I'd still love for some to "dust/dirty" up all of MikeyD's great T34 mods. I've got a few done, but there are like 4 or 5 left to do. Jordan "AstroCat"
  3. Ok, Thanks for the help. I'll keep working at it. Jordan "AstroCat"
  4. Yeah, it is quite a chore at the moment. It just seems so much easier in PSP to get the desired weathering effects. In PS if you don't turn the opacity way down on the brush it will still overpower the base image even with the mask. ugh...It just seems like a lot more work in PS One thing that would help...Can you tell me what the PS equivalent to PSP density is in regards to the brush? Any other pointers? Thanks so much for the help! Jordan "AstroCat"
  5. Hi all! I'm resurrecting this thread back to the top! I am in the same situation as Gurra right now. I have followed all the instructions and tutorials I can find but PS does not seem to treat masks the same as PSP. I have photoshop CS and Paintshop Pro 8. I used the same mask image for both and have gotten totally different results from both programs. PSP acts like you want it to and PS does not. Please help? Because overall I like PS better and would like to keep using it for all my modding needs. I could send someone 2 files, 1 PSP and 1 PS both set up the same to demonstrate the problem. Any takers? Thanks! ...and if this doesn't work out I guess I'll just have to use PSP when I need to do masking, but I bet I'm just doing something wrong. Jordan "AstroCat"
  6. Thanks, I understand. A PS tutorial would be great if someone would do it. You know, maybe I have to get a copy of PSP? :)That would make things a lot easier for weathering, then I could just follow the tutorial. So, if I just follow the tutorial with PSP I can get the same effect as you did for me? That would be great. Jordan "AstroCat"
  7. Hi, I've been trying to copy Gautrek's weathering technique that he was nice enough to do for me on MikeyD's T34 mods. I am using Photoshop CS, and have read the tutorials on his site. I am pretty comfortable with Photoshop and have no problem doing terrain mods and small other mods. I also understand the technique of blending layers. In the tutorials they referred to layer masks which I do not have much experience with, especially since the tutorial is geared towards PSP and I have PS. I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice or help so that I could apply a "dirtying" technique to the remaining green MikeyD T34 mods. Thank you very much for your help, Jordan "AstroCat"
  8. Yeah they are there. If you can't find them I can get them to you no problem. Thanks so much for checking them out!!! Jordan "AstroCat"
  9. Hi! There are 4 awesome MikeyD T-34 tank mods that I have that are desperately in need of the dusty/mud treatment. They are: T34 41 76 early T34 43 76 T34 43 76 late T34 44 85 All the others match up pretty good, especially the earlier ones MikeyD dusted up himself. Gautrek was kind enough to do a couple for me as well. Is there any modder out there willing take up my plea and dirty these suckers up?! Thanks!!! Jordan "AstroCat"
  10. It sounds like you just want to play a game on a grid with only numbers...boring! I have hex paper and a calculator for that. I love great gameplay but also love good graphics and sound. I can not understand what the attraction for some wargamers to crappy audio and visual experiences is? It is like somehow the worse the a/v experience is the more "hardcore" they feel? Please, give it up already...take it all if you can. Why not amazing 3d graphics with all the bells and whistles, fully realized audio production, AND great gameplay. For me, all the extras add so much to the overall feel and experience of the game. Cool little unit graphics with weather dependent uniforms is totally fun, give me more! Just don't sacrifice or dumb down the gameplay. Jordan "AstroCat"
  11. Glad to help! Jordan "AstroCat" Thank you AstroCat , you just uploaded the best ambient sound mod ever created. </font>
  12. Check cmmods. Jordan "AstroCat" ...I ended up modding them a little myself but I'm uploading the mods in the original form to cmmods. [ March 26, 2004, 10:30 PM: Message edited by: AstroCat ]
  13. The mod looks great...please keep going...there are lot's of CMBB vehicles that need a good dirty winter/whitewash. Thanks for the work! Jordan "AstroCat"
  14. Update: I switched back to the 53.03 and for sure my FPS went up a lot like, 20-30 more fps than with the newer ones. I think I'll be sticking with the 53.03 set for now. Remember, a few drivers back we had the performance hit too, but this is not quite as bad as then, but still too much for me. Well, they definitely fix the alt-tab AA problem but performance in Combat Mission is noticeably down from where it was with the 53.03 drivers. I used to have no problem with FPS at 4xs - 8 aniso. Now I have to use just 4x - 8 aniso for the same FPS but at that setting the "shimmering" effect is very noticeable... I might go back to the 53.03 and deal with the alt-tabbing, which is less annoying than the very distracting "shimmering" effect. Oh well...so close! 15. Wow! I checked it out "in game" and it looks great! Please feel free to do more!!! Thanks for the great work. Jordan "AstroCat"
  16. Looks great! There are a few other vehicles in CMBB that could use a good dirty snow or whitewash treatment. Here is a "small" list of a few that I think really need it: SOVIET: ISU-122,ISU-122S,ISU-152 (These share bmps so do 1 and get them all!) SU-85M, SU-100 (same as above) BT-7 37 BT-7A BT-7M 39 BT-5A GERMAN: PIVG (late) There are othes too, on the Russian side like the small T series (26,37,38, etc...) and BA vehicles. Having any of these done with a proper winter setup would be awesome. Just throwing it out there in case any modders were in to it. Jordan "AstroCat"
  17. Hey...cool on the mod but I got a problem. When I go to un-zip the archive several files are not found. I've tried downloading it from cmmods 4 times and all times in completes the download with no problems. These are the missing files #: 166300.bmp 166301.bmp 166302.bmp 166303.bmp 166304.bmp 166305.bmp 166306.bmp 166307.bmp 166308.bmp 166309.bmp 166310.bmp 166311.bmp 166312.bmp 166312.bmp Thanks for the hard work! Maybe you could re-upload the .zip? Thanks! Jordan "AstroCat"
  18. I could try Winamp2 but Foobar 0.8 has low CPU usage and it has "gapless" playback so I think I'll be cool for my CM sessions. Thanks! Jordan "AstroCat" Come to think of it, Winamp 2 and 5 are two completely different programs: you could simply install the older version beside Winamp 5, and try whether it functions better with CM. </font>
  19. You know...I only have AF_PARTISAN1.ZIP which is for the early set. I don't know of an AF_PARTISAN2.ZIP covering the late set. Does this exist? I don't see it at cmmods. If you have AF_PARTISAN2.ZIP can I get it? Jordan "AstroCat"
  20. Thanks for the reply...I have no problems using Windows Media Player 9 or Foobar 0.8 to play music while running combat mission. I only get the stuttering and crackling when using winamp. I have an Audigy 2 with the latest drivers and everything else runs fine. Any ideas what is up with Winamp specifically? I am very familiar with the configuration of Winamp and still can not make it work simultaneously with CM. Jordan "AstroCat"
  21. Hmmm...well I'm kind of attached to the features of version 5. I checked my CPU and MEM utilization when combat mission is running and winamp is taking up very, very little resources. It must be something else. hmmm...well using foobar while I play games is no big deal really. Thanks for the help! Jordan "AstroCat" Oy! Winamp 5 is not kosher. You could try downgrading to Winamp 2. If that is not the problem, then I have but two other probable causes for your mischief: 1) Extremely stressed processor (you should be experiencing choppy animations as well in this case) 2) Some mystic graphics card issue. Anyhow, the only reasonable explanation that I can figure is that the Winamp somehow causes strain unlike the WMP. Try Winamp 2.91 . </font>
  22. I'm using the latest, 5.02 and I have everything closed and Winamp minimized down to the systray. Any ideas? Jordan "AstroCat"
  23. Got a problem here. I like to play MP3’s while I play the game. The problem is when I use Winamp in the background I get stuttered and choppy sound in the game. When I use Windows Media Player 9 or Foobar 0.8 everything plays fine. I would like to use Winamp because it is my main player. I have tried playing with all the settings in Winamp I could think to try but nothing seems to make a difference. Does anyone have any ideas why WMP9 and Foobar work but Winamp doesn’t? Thanks for the help! Jordan “AstroCat”
