  1. Darn it, I came by to stir some more ****, and it looks like Andreas and Dorosh beat me to it, well maybe next go around.
  2. Andreas, I haven't been around lately (been busy) to keep things stirred up, but, in response to rather being locked uo in a room with a spade and let the other guy have the G3. I was not trained on the G3, now I own a vintage WWII G43,maybe you were a little confused. I was trained with the M14, Mi6 rifle while in the service, and afterwords with various other weapons during my time with the tact team. And I think you have a good point as far as using a G3 in close quarters, but even then with a trained individual using it, I don't think you would stand much of a chance, but then agian if all you had was a spade, well you would have to use it. I'll keep tabs on this thread and stir the nest up as needed. It's a lot of fun to see the reactions.
  3. I would tell you a few stories, but you wouldn't be interested, they are not like the books you've been reading.
  4. Thanks for modding this one, I was playing a battle and seen this one the other day, and it looks real good in game, thanks
  5. Well, as far as prolonging the war if the MP44 had been introduced earlier in the war, and used properly and as the primary infantry weapon, you can't deny that it would have. Anyone that can say that it wouldn't have must be smoking something. The bolt action rifle is inferior to a fully automatic weapon,or semi for that matter.(with a possible exception if used in the sniping role). And common sense should answer that question. All the what if it was put into play this way or that way, leads you back in a loop, what if??. Earlier in the war the troops were better trained, and they had the upperhand, and could have used the MP44 to the fullest. Then it's said that they would have replaced the LMG, what IF they left the LMG? The time that it was introduced, germany was already losing the war, and troop quality was declining. Now back to the U.S. military statement that was made about the "troop quality" and all that crap. We have the finest and history should prove that, and the world knows it. You take away the politicians and let the soldier do the job, he or she will do it well, enough said about that. And when I type on this forum, I don't really care about "typos" and I don't see how that really matters anyhow, I'm not here to impress anyone, and I'm sure 99.9% of the people on this forum don't care to be impressed, even by some snot nosed armchair warrior who reads a few books, joins the military in whichever god forsaken country for a few years hitch, and goes through a few drills and thinks he's a know it all about military combat and tactics.
  6. AHH explians it your english, and I'm not smoking a thing. And it's not a option to go around sometimes, when your given a order you do what your told. It depends on the situation, but as you probably haven't realized america doesn't usually go around things we go through them. And there is a method on advancing on a MG,or "nest" if you want to call it that. And it's not rushing headlong into it without some planning being made before hand, but I think you know that all ready.
  7. Andreas, I think you need to reread my response, sure you would call in a tank, if you have a tank that can fit down a narrow street, so I guess your right you don't have any military experience. And there were no tanks in Samolia, and don't call me "sir" I worked for a living. And if some of you foriegn guys can't stand the fact that the U.S. is the best, well can't help that. And you would be surprised how much we learned from the german tactics, and still use a form of some of those tactics to this very day. So to answer your questions about german small arms tactics, well they had them down to a art, and if they would have had someone else besides a lunatic like Hitler leading them they probably would have won the war and we'd all be saying germany's number one insted of the U.S. being number one, god bless america and the troops who have defended her in the past and are still defending her to this day!!
  8. this is the best i have found http://ns9.super-hosts.com/~dragonlair.net/combatmission/
  9. Oh yeah one more thing, "rushing" at a MG isn't in the "tactics" as you say, but taking the postion is and believe it or not that generally means going toward that position, just in case you did'nt realize this.

  11. Well I'm not a gun nut, I'm a collector, and unlike you, I do have military combat experience, but don't go around sounding my trumpet. And yes, firing these weapons does give you a idea of how they were used a "feel" for the weapon, and anyone trying to say they don't, is well nevermind. Also if firing a weapon can't give a feel to haow the weapon is used, well I suggest that some one tell the U.S. military then, cause we are the best in the world, and no arguement can change that. And as far as having being able to qualify in combat tactics, I think I have that qualification seeing how I've been there and done that.
  12. How the weapons were used?? Well I own a M1 Garand, and carbine, a 98K, Mosin Nagant rifle, SVT40, Jap type 99,french MAS36, italian Carcano, G43, and Have owned,(but sold or traded) Springfield 1903, Jap type 77, these are just the WWII vintage rifles. I also own a Sten 9mm. I have fired all and including the MP40, PPsh, and the MP44, and Thompson 45. And after firing all of them my guess is they were aimed at the enemy and the trigger was pulled. Common sense would tell you that the sub guns were used for close range. The rifles for long range. After being on the firing range many many times, and firing these vintage weapons I pretty much have figured this out. As far as the MG42 and the Bren and Browning 50 cal, I have fired these also and all I can say is those men on any side be it axis or allies had BALLS rushing a position with any of these MGs in them, it is a awesome feel and sound firing these weapons. One thing I like about CMBO and CMBB, is that in the games, the troops have a high tendency of being routed or panic when rushing MGs. But there are some people who play the game that whine and say this must be a bug because the troops are paniced and rout to quickly, I don't agree.
  13. The U.S. standard infantry rifle was the M1 Garand from 44 on dude, the U.S. still used the Springfield 03 but not in large quantitys. As far as the germans using the K98K rifle, well it's time was passing and the wermacht knew this, that is why they introduced the MP44 without Hitler knowing it, because he was so doped up he did'nt know any better. And actually from about 42 on the Garand started to be issued in larger numbers.
  14. why hell no it couldn't prolong it, not at the late stage it was introduced in the war, but like the V-2 rocket, and jet, if they would have been introduced earlier in the war, yes they could have prolonged it. But crap IF, is a big word, if Hitler would'nt have been a complete lunatic, millions of innocents would'nt have died either, or there would'nt have been a WWII for that matter.
  15. Yeah, got a buddy that I bought a G-43 sniper rifle off of, and he has a firing MP 44, sweet shooting little bugger. The G-43 shoots acurate as hell, compared to my SVT-40 russian auto rifle, I would take the G-43 auto rifle any day. But if the germs could've issued out more MP-44s thw allies would of had a real problem. I have fired the thompson sub, and sten 9mm (I own one) and the M1 garand. The Germans really had the better weapons the way I see it. The russians had some all right ones. I have fired the Mosin Nagant rifle and the PPsh sub gun, and they seem kinda short comming in the accuracy part, but if I were to rate the weapons I would put the germans first, the U.S. second, The rusians and U.K. about the equal. But some might disagree after firing them. As far as the french, italians, well I have a MAS 36 and a Carcano rifle, and I would put them below U.K. and russia, but above the japanese, because the type 99 rifle I have shoots alright but is a little clunky. And the Nambu pistol just plain out sucks, (I sold it).
  16. Great Job, and I have your mods from CMBO, and I'm glad to be seing them for CMBB, thanks, and now that I have T-1 connection, I'll be able to download this one fast.
  17. I would be in favor of it for sure.
  18. Thanks Gordon, and I was wondering if you have any plans for the Churchill III tank. I really liked the one you did for CMBO and I've been waiting for it for CMBB.
  19. Yes, I didn/t use the tracks, because I didn/t want to overwrite Gautrek tracks. And thanks for the winter version conversion MikeyD.
  20. Oh yeah, one more thing, I doubt some kid with a CD-burner could handle the load, but on the other hand, a company wanting to make even more profits would.
  21. Yes, like I said, it would be a hassle to say the least, myself, I wouldn't care about the mods I have done going on a disk. I do the mods for myself and then post them, if people want them ok, if not, don't get em, it ain't like I get paid for em or anything. Then I figure, heck I grab other peoples mods so I figure I can at least throw mine up for grabs sorta like trading baseball cards or something when you were a kid, really the mods are just eye candy anyway, you could play the game without them, but they do add a lot to make the game more realistic and fun.
  22. MikeyD, GREAT JOB!! you out did yourself on this mod. It looks really good in game thanks!!
