  1. few facts bout those figures..... idd many german pow´s fell victime to instant acts of revenge after their capture. shot, beaten etc that was nothing realy special. the two main reasons for this low number of returned prisioners where the already bad shape of the germans in the kessel when 6th army surrendered, and the general bad suppliesitiuation in whole of russia during those month. a average german pow wouldnt receive more food than the average soviet peasant.
  2. exactly the same bothers me too. if im doin my advance propperly, eg infantry leaps from pos to pos with breaks to exchange fire and/or to give the guys some time to catch some breath, i never get close to completet the objectives. i hate scenarios with a tight timescedule takes away alot from the tactical depth imho...
  3. how about sum illegal "original cm:bb available europewide though online ordering" oooooooooops
  4. and this guy is ment to know ffs!!! look at his nick...
  5. i had the same at jägermeister as my js-2´2 refused to take any shot at teh panthers amd tigers. i had multiple sitiuations where i outmanouvered the german panzers and instead of takin a sure 300 m sideshot at a sitting panther the backed up etc. funny enuff that my first killed panther came due to a misidetification. a js-2 idetified it as a p4 and brewed him up with the first shot, at around 700 meters.
  6. i feel with you l4. 2 days ago i started testing a homemade scenario. two platoons of regular soviet infantry got routed by a single hmg firing at them at a distance of around 300 meters. the whole manouver collapsed, with almost every squad being paniced, routet or broken. they made their way back into the cover they started from, and i discovered that they had only 2 casualties. i already increased the fanatism by 25% for both sides in that scenario...
  7. hehe what a suprise....doom1/2, jagged alliance1/2, x-com1 are also some of my all time favs.cmbb easily manages to get into this group tho
  8. i played a qb last evening, and i heard the sound of the MG42 the first time.i love it. it sounds simply great...
  9. well....i know that a 250 kilo bomb can do alot of damage, specialy to soft tagets like russian soldiers, but the thing that i just experienced was just beyond believ. i played the operation 21st army counter attack.i used the first turns to spread my squads a bit and to get the whole thing going.no contacts made, and i was kinda on my way towards the hill 201.in turn 6 i heard this dreaded *brrrrrrumm*, and i went like "ohh ohh".he dived in the next turn and dropped the nerd right infront of a advancing platoon(10 meters), and behind a advancing t26 platoon(30 meters).3 full 10 man squads, a mortar and the hq unit eliminated. 3 t26 tanks lost a man each and one took a gundamage.other squads lost a man here and there, and almost every squad within a 100 meter range showed moral effects.the next thing looked well out of proportion to me.a squad, located around 130 meters away in a swamp field lost 8 out of 9 mens(!?!?).no neighbouring units showed any effcts, and all of this was topped by a full 10 man squad eliminated 265 meters away(!!!!!), located in a light woods field.any1 else had experienced stuff like this? BTS, do it or fix somefink!!thisone ruined my day ....
  10. a gun who´s reloadtime is longer than the average cm game is kinda of no use imho. tactical carpet bombing isnt modeled in cm either, altho it was used on the easternfront...
  11. ooo guys how about operations? are they redone in any way? specialy the setting of the frontline after each phase.
  12. any1 in germany bought it already in a shop? or did all of you received it by mail? teh saturn markt in hamburg says they have no clue about when they will get it.
  13. on my first attempt i had 2 bogers(one pIII and one pIV) before they even reached the first roadline.i was like.. hmm well .. dunno... but after i thought about it it seemed pretty obvious to me why they bogged.twas becouse i drove fast over steppe terain.after this incident i only used move/conntact/hunt commands while on steppe or rocky terrain, and voilá not one bogger in 2 complete scenarios played. cm getting closer and closer to reality...scary
  14. i read that stalin held the final thrust towards berlin back, to pile up more forces. he assumed that the war would be over as soon as berlin falls, and he wanted to control as much territory as possible before the armistic e.g. before the fall of berlin.
  15. there are maybe ppl who are not surfing this forum 24/7, so there is idd some kind of a news aspect many ppl reading that now.if u dont want the casual cmbb fan in here, i suggest to make this a passworded private forum, so you guys dont have to bother with ppl like us anymore. i live in germany, and i simply dont want a "mutilated" version of one of the best computergames ever made.crappy package with pics from cmbo on it, a handbook that is translated from someone who dosnt know **** about a serious ww2 sim.the game has even a different name over here... atm i feel sold
  16. is this realy a whining thread about the deathclock? lol its one of the fines new features in armored combat in cmbb, and its perfectly realistic. '....flames, wrecks and russian like figuers everywhere...hit after hit.suddenly we recived a strong blow somwhere.should we change the course?how should i find the headquaters in this mess?....no orientation possible....we are radioing for help.we need renforcement and firesupport..none noticed that we got no answer.the antena must have been shot away long ago...suddenly the paniced order:"t34 at 2.00 o`clock !! - antitank round fire at will!!" - "turret is blocked", says the gunner.now its getting serious."driver, aim with the vehicle, turn right"...all of a sudden a big blow, then silence.motor is stopped.restart!motor runs again.im asking:"what should i do? - the radio operator screams: "the gunner is dead, the intercom is gone!".im screaming: "ask the loader, what should i do?". answer: "the commander is dead - gunner, now its up to you"...i see russians assaulting the tank, and suddenly i see the t34 at around 100m...im faster..we are driving back to our own lines now...the radio operator cares for our wounded loader....later on someone counts the hits in our tank.my glassblock goes from hand to hand.17 hits from infantry projectiles and 3 hits from antitank rounds...' (panzerkampf im bild page 60-61) report from rolf erhard, driver in 7./pz. rgt. "lsah"
  17. there is so much new, amazing stuff in it that its almost impossible to tell all of it. one special thing wich always "bothered" me in cmbo was the crew survivability of knocked out tanks.in real pictures u can see alot of tankcrews being taken out as they where about to leave, or just left their vehicle, while in cmbo it was rarely possible to get em. i played the yalina scenario as the germans, where one of my tankhunter tems took out a t34 with a satchel, and all 4 bailing crew members got mowed down instantly from a half rifleteam from around 40 meters. also it looks like as if there is some kind of a fatal penetration wich can take out the whole crew without brewing the tank up.maybe its a round riccocheing inside? 18. dont forget that ur unmanned at guns are often "physicly" damaged by enemy fire etc.u may have ur crew still intact but that dosnt say u can send em back to man some scrap heap..
  19. yep...i just played that too, and i was pretty amazed by the number of the various hit/damage msgs. *spoiler* as that first kv popped up with his turret over the ridge, my armor opened up on em and i got all sorts of hit msges...eeek was that impressive.the downside was that his first try made its way right trough the front turret of one of my pIV`s. i noticed a strange clang sound and a scream from inside the striken tank, and what happened?nothing.the tank didnt brewed up or saiin, but none of the crew bailed out.must have been a grim sight inside :/ eeevil new details.....
  20. yep! i just noticed that at jelena.i was wondering why they simply dropped out of sight, but after the szenario ended, i could see the floor littered with fallen groups... btw..i was well impressen how it is possible now to tackle tanks with inf close assault weps.i just "convinced" 2 conscript t34 crews to abandon their tanks with grenade/satchels... killer game
  21. watch out for my über "waffen grenadiere".they are going to take you down in no time.... cant wait for the "teilweiser durchschlag am front turm kein ernster schaden" either *sigh* typos [ August 28, 2002, 11:36 AM: Message edited by: dizee ]
