  1. Kuniworth, I went back and looked at it and didn't find it unbalanced. Please let me know what you feel is unbalanced so that I may either defend myself or rectify the matter or both! The other two definitely do look unbalanced, but they aren't. They are more like puzzles (not too hard, mind you) where the underdog Allied side has to overcome a very hard enemy. Cheers, Narayan
  2. Thanks Hubert... All of them are BETA campaigns. I would like to get more user feedback on play-balance, etc. In both cases, the Allies are the underdogs in production points and units, but have superior technology. (It is alternate history...) Thank you, Narayan
  3. "I would really love a historical accurate scenario in this theme." Also I believe that there is already a historically accurate scenario with that theme, isn't there? Thanks, Narayan
  4. Please let me know why you feel it is unbalanced so that I can fix it. I didn't get that feeling at all after playtesting it from both sides and after playing PBEM twice. Thanks, Narayan
  5. Hi Guys, I have added two new campaigns. Also some more feedback/ideas to which I have added since posting above: Hubert: Is it possible to add destroyers that would destroy subs? Forts would be another interesting unit class. Do naval AA values increase when AA research improves? U.S. battleships, for example, should be far less vulnerable to air units than their other counterparts. Is it possible to have more minor ports? Is it possible for carriers not to take so much damage when attacking distant (or any) objectives? Can strategic bomber naval attack values be weakened? No one gets minor country points after England surrenders! Also I would like it if spotting had some kind of random element, though that's probably not worth the programming time. But right now, if I am playing the Allies, for example, I always know where all of the U-boats in the Atlantic are. Also the German AI never seems to build U-boats... Allied submarines are useless, though they could have interfered with German commerce (such as if/when Germany captures the USA or Canada or England, etc.) Thanks, Narayan [ September 19, 2002, 06:34 PM: Message edited by: Narayan Sengupta ]
  6. "right now you can haul the entire French army to England and they will all survive the surrender. " This is true. However, they can't improve along with the other British units, and are thus handicapped. Narayan
  7. ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** 1943 American Arsenal for Strategic Command by Narayan Sengupta ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** COPYWRITE © 2002 September, 2002 BETA version OVERVIEW American Arsenal is a hypothetical campaign based on a plausible situation. In this world gone mad, Germany's Operation Sealion invasion of England has defied all odds and actually worked. And then, even more stunning, Germany has just finished conquering off Russia, though at great cost. German units at the eastern cusp of the Ostfront are licking their wounds in the Urals around Sverdlovsk. And in the Pacific, the U.S., China, Australia and friends have managed to back the Japanese back to the mainland and settled up with them at the peace table. So now it is a war mainly of two large superpowers, a harbinger of things to come a decade later in real life, albeit between two different superpowers. The American Arsenal is growing by leaps and bounds. Already her Industrial Might is producing at full clip. The new B-17s, B-24s, B-25s are coming off of the production lines in record numbers. Her fighter squadrons are well equipped and fleshed out with long range P-38s, P-51s and P-47s. Five new Essex class carriers including the Essex, Intrepid and Ticonderoga, have been redeployed from the Pacific Theater. The Iowa, Wisconsin, Missouri and New Jersey have joined the four South Dakota class battleships to make a fast, hard punching, fearsome fleet. It will be up to America to liberate Europe. It will be up to you to decide how. As the Germans, it is up to you to figure out how to defeat the small American armies that are guarded by a great force of naval and air power.
  8. ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** 1942 The Bite of the Bulldog for Strategic Command by Narayan Sengupta ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** COPYWRITE © 2002 September, 2002 BETA version OVERVIEW The Bite of the Bulldog is a hypothetical campaign based on a plausible situation. In this world gone mad, Germany's Operation Amerika invasion of the USA has defied all odds and actually worked. And previously, just as stunning, Germany has just finished conquering off Russia, though at great cost. German units at the eastern cusp of the Ostfront have already mostly been redeployed to Germany, though a few have been left behind in occupation duties. So now it is a war between England, Canada, Greece, Iraq, Egypt, and North African and Middle Eastern parts of Vichy France. Vichy has joined England after the German tanks massed on its borders and started rolling south toward the great naval base of Toulon. Most of the French fleet was successfully scuttled, but the Strasbourg and the partially completed carrier Joffre were captured. The Germans have also captured the semi-useless 23,000 ton Marat from the Soviets. And while the Graf Spee and the Bismarck both rest in watery graves of the Atlantic, the German Kriegsmarine is at an all-time high in strength. Various Wolf Packs of Type VII submarines are complemented on the surface by the mighty Tirpitz, Scharnhorst, Gneisenau, Strasbourg as well as the lesser vessels such as the Prinz Eugen, Admiral Scheer, Admiral Hipper and the Lutzow. The Graf Zeppelin is being refitted in the captured American port of Norfolk and should be ready to sail at any moment. While all looks lost for England, this is not necessarily so. The German Waffen SS units have all been destroyed or depleted to the point of being disbanded on the bitter fighting on the Ostfront. OKH and Adolf Hitler have ensured that all of the great German victories have been attained through a short-term war with almost no emphasis placed on research. In contrast, England has fared well, placing most of its resources into research, and has emerged with a well oiled industry capable of turning out Spitfires, Gloster Meteors, Mosquitos and Lancasters in the air, heavy Comet and Challenger tanks on the ground, and the greatest aircraft carriers to rule the seas. I almost named this one "A War of Attrition", because that is what it is. Both sides are the underdog in one way or the other. Both sides can only win by overcoming that weakness. For England, it is a paucity of units and of production points. For Germany it is research. Germany must build up its navy to invade England. England must build up its army to invade Germany. It will be up to England to stem the tide of the German onslaught, then to reverse it and to liberate Europe and America. From the German perspective, winning the war should be simple. Defeat England, and ultimate victory is yours. In either case, it will be up to you to decide how.
  9. NS 1939 Total War Campaign for Strategic Command Designer Narayan Sengupta E-Mail newfrontiers@mindspring.com Released 08/15/2002 Web http://www.peachmountain.com/5star/SC **************************************************************************** NOTE All folder references are to your STRATEGIC COMMAND game folder. VERSIONS SUPPORTED Please order the game from http://www.battlefront.com if you don't already have it. It is a terrific game and only costs $25. INSTALLATION Extract all files from this zip file to your STRATEGIC COMMAND\CAMPAIGNS folder. BACKGROUND This is an alternative history campaign. In this alternative history, the war has already been going strong for a year or two. Germany has done well, already extending its grip over Austria and Czechoslovakia. Poland, Denmark, Norway and Yugoslavia have all been conquered, and the conquest of both the Low Countries and mighty France may be just moments away with German troops in outskirts of Paris already in sight of the Eiffel Tower. Sweden has sucumbed to Germany diplomatic pressure and reluctantly joined the Third Reich. Finland has done so voluntarily. Germany has finally arranged for the Bismarck, Scharnhorst and Gneisenau to be together hiding in the fiords of Norway, and the Tirpitz is in its final states of construction, ready to join them if possible. German wolf packs are in the Atlantic and the Baltic, and are ready to inflict as much damage as possible. Finally German troops have crossed the frontier into Russia jumping off with utter violence and making excellent headway. While this is alternative history, the Orders of Battle (Unit Names) are as accurate as can be and is based on several excellent references.
  10. Hubert, I concur!! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!1 Narayan

  12. I put two more campaigns out there today...
  13. Russian Partisans: I have run into this problem too. I agree that there should be Russian partisans after Russia surrenders. For that matter, the partisans in Yugoslavia go away at a certain point if you keep units in the right place. Narayan
  14. Unit scale is just a word. It doesn't really matter what we call the scale. The islands could consist of two harbors outside of two hexes and would represent island groups as someone else just mentioned... There weren't too many battles over one mile islands other than Iwo Jima. But the island doesn't have to look graphically correct. The island can be a pinprick for all I care - it's the terrain type that counts. Also some terrain types may have to be combinations of port/airfield, etc. The rest of the map scale could stay the same. Narayan
  15. There should be more ports in general, however, so that islands such as Crete or Sardinia can be used and become interesting targets. Narayan
  16. Doug, I agree on both points. I would like to see the range of air units, however, increased. I can never hit Ploesti, for example, from England. Narayan
  17. Hi Guys, I have added more French ships to all three of my campaigns. The new one, "The Bite of the Bulldog" includes the Richelieu, Jean Bart, CV Joffre, Strasbourg, Dunkerque, etc. Narayan PS: You can get them from the links below.

  19. There was also a board game that HC took from: TSR's World War II, a terrific game that was far superior to Third Reich. But HC was a duffer. Thanks Hubert for making SC so cool! Narayan
  20. BTW, just e-mail them to me at newfrontiers@mindspring.com. Thanks, Narayan
  21. HickmanJ, I would be happy to post anyone's campaign here: http://www.peachmountain.com/5star/SC_Downloads.asp Narayan
  22. I'm looking forward to a new Pacific Command that is dedicated to that theater, with cheaper naval units and more powerful CVs... Narayan
  23. Hi Electrick, Sorry to not see your post for so long. You can get it by going here: http://www.peachmountain.com/5star/SC_Downloads.asp Please let me know what you think. Thanks, Narayan

  25. Hi Mike, I have posted it on the site which you can get to from the link below. Please let me know what you think, if it needs adjusting, etc. By the way, there was poor wording on my part that I have just now edited. The campaign is in beta mode (because I need to make sure that others are happy with it before I "release" it. It is for the full game only! Have a nice day! Narayan
