  1. Hi Guys, I have created a campaign that still needs testing (beta). The campaign is for the great new full game. Please let me know if you are interested in testing it for me. Thanks, Narayan [ August 08, 2002, 07:10 PM: Message edited by: Narayan Sengupta ]
  2. Hi All, I have found that it is impossible to justify the cost of Strategic Bombing, especially when bomber losses are taken into consideration. Narayan
  3. "An issue that should be reconsidered eventually is HQ control of minor allies." Bill, This is a good idea. I would also like to see more HQs, such as for Free France or for France itself. Of course, I haven't seen the full game yet, so maybe they are in there. Narayan
  4. Husky, The US definitely produced more warships and more aircraft than anyone else. Narayan
  5. Norse, Please send it to me if you would like for me to post it on the web site. Thanks, Narayan
  6. Mike, What version of Windows are you using? Also just try leaving the Start bar visible at the bottom. Narayan
  7. Hi Electrik, I have one, but I am still play-testing it. It's called Total War 1939. Plese let me know if you would like to play-test it. Thanks, Narayan
  8. BTW, The problem with purchasing the Allied U-boats is they don't appear to be able to attack anything other than Axis surface vessels.
  9. Kev, The problem with U-boats is the ROI. It takes 400 points or so to build a U-boat, and then it takes 40 turns (at 10 points per turn) to get a 100% return on investment. Narayan
  10. Blackbellamy, Very intersting. Did you have an HQ with you? Narayan
  11. Good discussion everyone! Is it possible to start units out entrenched? Or, alternatively, is it possible to have mountains entrench rapidly? Narayan
  12. Another thought... Hubert, I like the idea of no printed manual (which I think I saw mentioned elsewhere). This will keep your costs down and keep the cost of the game down. An HTML manual should do the job for pretty much anyone now days. Narayan
  13. "One of the main goals was to make the game play as flexible as possible so that if you wanted to try a unique strategy you will be more than able to do so..." Hubert, I completely agree. In any case, there is always going to be an opportunity (or other) cost to, say, deploying all U.S. units to Russia. This should keep some balance in the game. Narayan
  14. Straha, Good point on Crete. In any case, I can probably use it as an air base after Greece is captured. I'm not sure what happens with supply, however. I suspect that Hubert has already thought of the CV thing that you and I are discussing, but it's probably not worth the time and effort to further program the game. But thanks for discussing it with me all the same. Narayan
  15. PTO is fine. But global would work too. And, I'm sure that Hubert can leverage this game to make it a WWIII game. Narayan
  16. Wayne, Those are good thoughts on the map... Narayan
  17. Hi Guys, I attack Switzerland because I've always wanted to do so in all of the other WWII games, and this is the only one that is great enough to offer it. I also get 400 or so MPPs... It does, of course, hasten the American entry into the war, but I was trying to provoke war with everyone just for kicks. I was also planning to attack the US, but haven't had time to properly do that yet. That campaign is still under way, and I may finish it tonight. Narayan
  18. I've started on the fourth turn, I believe. So the first turn, I attack France. The second turn, I'm still in France and I also attack Switzerland and the Baltic states. The third turn is against the same three countries. And by the fourth turn or maybe the fifth or even sixth turn, actually, I invade Russia and maybe Vichy France. Narayan
  19. Hubert and Dan, Is it at all possible to make sure that every island has at least one port or airfield or city or all of the above? I vaguely understand that this may change the MPPs. Is there a way to restrict the MPPs on an ad-hoc basis? This would help create a need for invading places like Crete. Of course, I realize that this may take too much time to program, and I would rather you guys get a reliable software tool out than one that does everything. And from everything that I can see so far, you have done a terrific job of creating a compeling reliable game. Narayan
  20. It looks like you have to have an unbroken line back to a supply city or perhaps a port. HQs appear to extend supply to units within two hexes of the HQ at the start of a turn. Narayan
  21. Nope. I've gotten two out of three numerous times though. Stalingrad appears to be undefended at times. Narayan
  22. Hi All, I have also started a Strategic Command web site, in case anyone is interested, to help Hubert publicize his great game. Narayan Strategic Command @ The 5 Star General
  23. Hi Gentlemen, Is there possibly a typo in the word "Transport" when the computer is running through its phases? Narayan
  24. Thank you Dan, I did figure out where the Italian troops were going after a little bit! Narayan
