  1. Thanks Logan, Got it! I'll have the other graphics for you tomorrow. Narayan Check this out:
  2. "One concern with giving the USA or USSR a high IT level at the start is Axis gains an immediate research bonus when they enter and can then close the IT gap." Bill, How is that? I have also changed many campaigns to have IT = 4 or 5 for the US, and it works well, I think, as long as other factors are balanced. Narayan
  3. Hi Guys, Is there a reason to attack Portugal if there is no port? The 5 resource points aren't worth it, as far as I can tell. So to get the Iberian, I usually land about five units through Gibralter and adjacent to Lisbon (but not just attack Lisbon) and fight up my way inland. Is there a better strategy? Narayan
  4. "**There is also that feature, I forget who first came up with it, but... some sort of "collapsed" line all along the Atlantic from north to south, where you would have to expend Xtra MPs to navigate through it." Thanks - that was me! I like the idea of a more complex sub war too, but I tend to build a lot of subs as the Germans. It's much easier to sink the American armies before they get to France then to kill them with land units afterwards. I do wish that German subs could get past Gibralter and/or Scapa Flow and/or The British Channel. However, one thing I would also like to see is a need for Allied subs. Allied subs were actually tremendously successful. WWI was ended, arguably, because of Allied subs, for instance, and WWII was because of American subs. JerseyJohn, I agree about how unrealistic (but fun to think about) the gee-whiz German plans were. I added most of the German capital ships that were laid down historically into my Fall Weiss Revisited, but even when I play it, I almost never finish the ships.
  5. Der Panzinator, Did you get it? I'll also have some more screen shots soon. Logan has sent me some great new icons! Thanks Logan! Narayan
  6. Hi Logan, I would like to use a few of your graphics from your 1962 pack with my Cold War graphics that I am going to release with the campaign. I like some of your bombers, tanks and the rocket launchers! Would this be okay with you? Thanks, Narayan
  7. Oops. My bad. I did NOT send it to you earlier. I only sent it to Carl. I'm resending now. And please send me your graphics mod when you get a second too. I would like to see that. Thanks, Narayan
  8. I vote a qualified "Yes" too. It's qualified since Hubert knows and has always known that we would like this, we should take solace in that fact and also assume that he is making the right choice in where to spend his resources, such as his time, where it will benefit the SC community most! And that's probably on SC 2. Just my two cents. Narayan
  9. No, I meant "What does it add to a campaign that was made under a previous version?" Narayan
  10. Dan, AI subs can attack human subs BOTH in unexpected and expected encounters. The reverse is NOT true. The technological level does not appear to be a factor. Narayan
  11. Why do you have to have 1.07 for this campaign? Thanks, Narayan
  12. Der Panzinator, Germany and Italy are hard-coded as Axis in the SC game engine. It can't be changed. But Carl very cleverly figured out how to make it appear to be otherwise. So I used Carl's system. BTW, please let me know if you haven't gotten my e-mail yet. I sent it two or three days ago. I can't get my e-mail while I'm at home here during the weekend, but Carl will also probably see this and he can send it to you too since I CCed him on the same e-mail. Unless he didn't get it??? Carl? Also der Panzinator, the profile graphics look terrific. The B-52 does too, but the straight profile ones look better. Also the flag looks awesome. Narayan
  13. Dear Carl and Der Panzinator (nice name!) Thank you for volunteering to play-test this. Please try it and let me know what you think. Carl, thank you for your inspiration and advice! I should warn both of you that there are several turns where it looks like the game has hung up, and it does look like it has completely stopped for about half an hour with my machine (no status messages at all). But it's still going... and then after turn 4 or 5, it goes back to normal with turns that last only a few minutes. Narayan
  14. TCPilot, There IS hope! There are more images here: Cold War WWIII Campaign: NATO (player) vs. Warsaw Pact(AI) and here: Warsaw Pact (player) vs. NATO (AI)
  15. Thank you Carl, Okay... I know I have/had your e-mail address, but I can't find it. Please tell me again what it is. Thank you, Narayan
  16. Hi Everyone, I am ready for one or two play-testers. Is anyone interested? Thanks, Narayan
  17. What do you all think about an Italian campaign (just for kicks) where Italy is the strong power within the Axis? The Italian geography lends itself better to a fun defensive campaign. I think it would be fun. Narayan
  18. Hmmm... I did find one thing over the last few days that I wanted to share with you. The AI apparently doesn't have a good grasp on how strong his units are. My historically pretty accurate OOBs led me to conclude that many of the German units not facing France should be weak (as should French and British units) to simulate units that were still being fleshed out/paper units, etc. However the German AI assaults the Maginot Line from the Rhine River with 2, 3 and other similarly substrength units allowing for unrealistically easy kills by the French forces. So I had to remove some of the German units and strengthen other weakened ones correspondingly. Now things are working better. Narayan
  19. I also think it is AI only. In any case, in real life, there has only been one sub vs. sub underwater sinking, though there may have been another one or two above water, where WWII subs spent the vast majority of their time. Narayan
  20. Hi Everyone, I am ready for a play-tester. If you are interested, then please shoot me an e-mail to newfrontiers@mindspring.com. Thank you, Narayan
  21. Logan, Regarding reply to my e-mail: whatever you prefer! Regarding Portugal and Greece, you may wish to leave them unactivated until the campaign has been played several times. Then they can be used for balance. But if you activate them, but later change your mind, then... Narayan
  22. Logan, Please see my e-maijl from earlier this afternoon. But overall, looking at it through the editor, it looked really good. What Night said about Finland and Yugoslavia can only be rectified by starting over from scratch - a major amount of work, or finding some way to rationalize it. I had the same problem on my WWI campaign because I initially activated Poland against Germany, but then later removed all of the Polish units and divied up Poland between USSR and Germany. The editor doesn't allow de-activation, of course, which means that I've had to scrap the campaign and start all over. Narayan
  23. Hi John, I suspect that I'm just going to have to give up on historically accurate results. The Cold War General was nice in that sense because there are no historically accurate results to worry about. Narayan
