  1. I will do Thank you very much Vinnart
  2. I tried to dowmload the mod but the download manager failed twice. I entered repository again to re-download and got the following message: "Sorry, your download limit has been reached for this file" How can I re-download the file? Thank you very much
  3. Thanks, The truth is that I never edited a movie before. I did it with the trial version of Adobe Premiere and I learned to work with the software while doing the movie with the help of some video tutorials I found on Youtube. I still have 18 days until the end of the trial and if I have enough time I will do an other AAR before the trial ends. I had a great time doing the movie and glad that some people enjoy watching it.
  4. Le Grand Hameau is the third battle of the "Road to Montebourg Campaign". I call it a movie "AAR" but I did not mean to make the kind of serious or formal AAR for grogs. Instead I tried to make something which is more like a storytelling and above all to convey the great fun of playing CMBN. What you see in this "movie" was edited straight from the saves of the battle I was playing and is 100% what happened during the real game (no replayed saves to get better battle results) By choosing certain angles, cuts, camera movements and editing techniques I tried to make the AAR a bit cinematic and to tell the story of my CMBN battle with its cool moments and its many surprises. Many thanks to dieseltaylor for kindly checking the English text for spelling mistakes and some English language enhancements. 5. I have finished the first battle and I have 27 minutes more till the end of the second one and I have a great time: thank you very much to the designer of the campaign. Since CMBO I have always been very bad at using the artillery/mortars and I still suck at it in this battle. As you see on this screenshot two of my platoons and one Sherman have already reached the edge of Ecoqueneuville (the rest is right behind and ready to storm the village), I still did not use the Howitzer and mortars at this point of the battle and I do not know when and specially where to use them. I sent a spotter to the third level the tallest building and still I cannot see any enemy force/target that I should spend artillery shells on. I am not asking to be told the spots where I should use my artillery in this particular battle but more to understand what to do in such a situation where my troops are ready to storm a village and I have a huge amount of artillery shells at my disposition but no enemy is seen and no enemy position is known from pre-battle intel ? In such situations I am always worried to waste my shells by spreading them a bit everywhere hoping to hit something here or there or to concentrate on some spots that are maybe empty of enemy troops and find later, when I have no or far less arty left, a huge concentration of enemy targets that could be easily wiped with the shells I have wasted earlier on some empty spots. What is the best way to act in such a situation ? SPOILER --------------------------- SPOILER x x x x x x x
  6. Yesterday right after I installed Fraps, I played the "Cats Chasing Dogs" scenario. I had so many great moments playing the scenario that I decided to record and edit (my first time ever) a small movie to get an idea to how it looks when published on Youtube. I did not expect the picture to have the same quality like when playing or watching the movie file on my desktop but I find the resolution quite poor (unlike when playing it is difficult to see the German Pumas from the US point of view) and very blurry when watching full screen. I edited this small movie with Window Movie Maker and uploaded to Youtube using the "High quality video (NTSC)" from the WMM movie setting menu. Is there a better setting for publishing game movie files on Youtube and get a better resolution ? SPOILER xxxxxxxxxxx SPOILER xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx SPOILER xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx If you did not play "Cats Chasing Dogs" scenario yet, this small movie let you discover some of the German forces positions in this scenarios and may spoil your gaming enjoyment. http://youtu.be/7xj2i-AHuh8
  7. In CMBN, like in CMBO (if I remember OK) tanks cannot go through the high hedgerows but why cannot they go through/over the low hedgerows which look like about 0.5 meters high in real life ? Was it the case in the real bocage fighting or is it a game's design ?
  8. Wonderful! I love it. This is the first time that I enjoy to play a game based on the CMx2 engine. I have purchased CMSF, played three or four scenarios but found no interest and stopped playing, later I tried the British module but it seems that the modern setting is not my cup of tea. There must be something in WW2 setting that makes the game more to my taste. Right at the first seconds of the first scenario I felt like I am back home; the demo of CMBN brought me back the fun and magic of the CMx1 games. I impatiently wait the full game and for someone to make the CMBN version of 'Valley of Trouble' and 'Chance Encounter'.
  9. Thanks, that makes sense now. I have already tried this but it does not work for me (and I am also signed into imageshack) This one works for me. Khane
  10. Hi, Do you know how I can have the ImageShack's frog logos removed and have them replaced by the AAR screenshots ? Thanks
  11. Thanks, Lethaface. By pure coincidence I was searching the net this morning about the power supply issue and as usual there is a bit of controversy about how much is enough and how much is not necessary. From what I have read until now it seems that at least 450W is required for a rig like the one I want. What about the case? For the cooling issue, are there recommended dimensions and thickness of the case and is a second fan needed? In the list of the cases the store is selling there are some cases called "for PC" and others cases "for Work Station". What is the difference between a PC and a Work Station?
  12. In Tel Aviv where I live, certainly at the same place where I purchased my previous computer. Their prices are fair, maybe not the cheapest but they are well known for their excellent and fast customers service. I bought my present rig on May 2006I and I called them once because of a technical problems: a technician arrived at my home the same day and solved the problem. During 3 years from the purchasing day they try to help you first by phone and if it does not help a technician comes to your home the same day or the day after, solves the problem there if he can and if not he takes the computer to repair. No need ever to bring the computer to them. I entered the web site of the place from where I am going to purchase my computer (they have a page where you can build your own system like cyberpowerpc.com) I built two systems, one "budget" and the second more expensive: Budget rig: CPU: Intel i5 - 760 Core 2.8GHz Motherboard: P55 Intel WhiteSburg Memory: 4GB Kingston Dual Channel 2x 2048 Video card: Gainward GeForce 460GTX 768 or 1GB ( $40 more for the 1GB) + WD 500GB Hard drive Caviar Blue + HEC case + Antec TruePower 300 W More expensive rig: CPU: Intel i7- 930 Quad 2.8GHz Motherboard: X58 Intel SmackOver Memory: 3GB Kingston Tri Channel Video card: Gainward GeForce 460GTX 1GB or 1GB + WD 500GB Hard drive Caviar Blue + HEC case + Antec TruePower 300 W The expensive rig cost $400 more than the budget. The price of the "budget" is a bit tight for me and to add $400 is quite a problem. The question is how much noticeable will be the difference between playing with the budget and expensive one? In which cases will the difference be really noticeable?
  13. Schrullenhaft, Not being a computer geek ,most of the technical stuff about the difference between Socket 1156 or a 1366 motherboard , Core i7 8xx and Core i5 CPUs and i5 7xx CPUs and the rest is new to me and I will re-read it again. It is very important for me not to buy this new rig only according to what the computers store salesman recommends to me; I prefer to buy it one or two weeks later but not before I have a good understanding of what I purchase. I will not be able to connect to the Internet for the next couple of days but I will be back later. Thank you very much for the useful information.
  14. Thank you guys for helping So if I cannot afford myself a Intel Core i7 Quad 2.80GHz + let say a GeForce 460GTX 1GB, then a Core i5 Intel 2.80GHz PCU + a GeForce 460GTX 1GB graphic card + 4BG memory will give me a better result/performance than the Intel Core i7 Quad 2.80GHz + GeForce 9500GT 1024MB + 3GB memory combo from my original post? By the way the brands avaible for the GTX 460 1GB in the two stores I visited where: Gigabyte, Gainward and Zotac. Is one among these brands more recommended than the two others?
  15. When Shock Force came out in 2007 I played for a couple of months only and it ran great with the computer I had then and I still have today: GeForce 7600 GT, AMD Athalon 64 3500 2.21GHz , 2GB memory. But 3 years have past and I assume that the upcoming CM:Normandy will be more demanding from a graphic point of view that the original CM:SF. Since 2007 I almost did not play any new PC games so I have no experience with the newer games of today. Not long ago I downloaded the "Empire:Total War" demo and I could only play with the graphic set on "Low" (with a bit of lag). "Medium" is almost unplayable and the game does not even give me access to the "High" option and of course certainly not to "Very High". In 2007 I played other games of the Total War series ( Rome and Medieval II ) with the graphics on "High" with my present computer without problem. So I guess that my computer is quite out of date for some of today's games. I am not a PC geek and I have no idea. The proposal I received from the store has this "3GB Kingston Triple Channel" thing in it. I don't play flight simulators. Apart the Strategic Command series and "Total War:Medieval II", CM:N will be the first game I purchase since CM:SF. I only spend very little of my spare time with gaming and when it happens I play almost these kind of games. That's the link to the CPU specs. I guess that it is 64bits technology. http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=41447
  16. I am going to purchase a new computer very soon. I would like to know if the following specs will be OK/enough to run most of the upcoming CM:Normandy scenarios properly ? Intel Corei7 Quad 2.80GHz MotherBoard: DX58SO Intel SmackOver GeForce 9500GT 1024MB DDR2 Memory: Kingston 3x1024 1333MHz DDR3 3GB
  17. +1 for Yair #102 All the barbaric/civilized (Arab/West) is complete nonsense. Barbaric and Civilized are both very loaded expressions and are reciprocally used by both sides. Each side declares that he only performs "civilized" actions like blowing up civilians in a bus or dropping bombs and rockets on other civilians. I have no idea what's in the minds of the Israeli political and military decision makers when they decide and order to drop bombs and rockets on civilian populated areas to reach armed fighters/terrorists hiding inside or in the minds of Palestinians who plan and order to blow up civilians in Tel Aviv. I guess that on both sides it is not from mere sadism or viciousness but simply a cold decision and as Yair wrote mostly through indifference.
