  2. Yep the germans had wirless in WW1 , in fact the young Guderian served in a heavy wirless section attached to the Cavalry at the time . In 1927 the British Army had the Experimental Mechanised Force going . It had Vickers Tankettes armoured cars , a fully moterised Infantry Battalion in both 1/2 tracks and 6x4 trucks , enginners and a full Artillery regiment which had some 18pdr SP guns . Unfortunetly the Force was disbanded in 1929 and the valuable lessons learned were soon forgotten By 1931 the British Army had radio installed in their tanks . On exercise the commander could control 180+ tanks , A full division effectively . Again the advantages were frittered away .
  3. Very good, Squire Simon, your education is progressing nicely. Of course there are also wagon wheels, tim tams, jaffas..... Mace</font>

  10. Morning everybody , its a lovely day today , I hope your all as happy as I am . Harv Only early days here , I'm sure the action will hot up soon , it usually does . Lurker This is some sort of tank battle , well it will be . The Capt He's sent in a big infantry attack which will be dealt with like the first one . Noba His setup will arrive I suppose , maybe he is sending it by carrier pidgeon . Boo Probably has too many games on his hands to face another total defeat at my hands . Lars He may be at his lake , he likes it there , when he gets home he may send me a turn . 11. Thanks Andreas for hosting again , and to Sean for a top BBQ . Next time we should dig a hangi pit and do a real kiwi feast ! Again this was a very enjoyable afternoon , I was able to delve into the game a more and now thats going to make the wait even harder . One thing that I really noticed is the difference between CMBO and CMBB gameplay due to the improvements made . There will be learning curve and some of what ones learned before will no longer apply . Everyone can expect a few surprises . If only the next 8 weeks or so would fly by !.
  12. Afternoon Noba , what a lovely day , I do hope you are well , as i am . I am happy because I am not a Pom , I am a Trinadadian you see , I'm here for the Beer , which Poms are quite good at . I hear its dreary and dreadful 'up north' as they say , but I don't plan on going there . 2000 points sounds fine to me , wing it over as soon as you like .
  13. Well Good Afternoon my Liege , nice to see you 'smiles' , what a lovely day , isn't it .
  14. Well Good Morning everybody , I do hope one and all are well and as happy as I am . Some Updates : Noba I await a setup from him with baited breath . After handing him the laurels of defeat twice now , surely its time for him to return the compliment . Lurker A new fight will soon begin , I've just sent him a setup . After such a crushing defeat , helped by my mind control over his artillery spotters , he is now ready for some more nemesis hehe Lars We have only just begun here , there's town on a hill , and its mine . A J Just over halfway with this fight and whats left of my toothless old gimmers are running away , however my reinforcements have arrived and will exact a terrible retribution Harv Another fight with him begins , its too early to tell what may happen here The Capt He somehow is managing to send turns at a rate that will coincide with the release of the new game , that won't prevent his inevitable defeat though . Boo May have reduced his pbem pile to something more managable to play a reply to his recent crushing defeat .
  15. You really don't want me to take my shoes off , be it on your own head hehehe
  16. Hello Everybody , I do hope you are all well this fine and sunny day A note to my liege Sir Mace a lifelike image will be soon winging its way to Lady P I have decided to be nice and so have allowed the following to be defeated by me Noba , Lars , Lurker , if you would be so kind as to update your scroll Lorak that would be lovely wouldn't it . In addition I would like to say jolly well done to Sir Harv on his recent pro/de motion , although he may well win back his mooseherd , his sheep are safe with myself and my liege Sir Mace , well as safe as they can be I suppose . I won't spend time describing poor Lurkers attempt at his masters quest , it would be too painful for him to read about . A J and myself continue to battle it out for the pension books of my old uns . Well that will do for now , have a nce day you all
  17. Well its 1.40 am and I've just got home , Thank you Andreas for hosting at short notice , and providing a top BBQ . Oh yes , The Game , its superb . I can say without doubt few people will go back to CMBO after playing this . An Impression or two Seeing a company of T34's rolling through the wheatfields , fantastic . Watching a building get damaged then rubbled , awesome . More to follow later when I can get my thoughts back into some semblence of order.
  18. Morning Everybody , I do hope we are all well today Here are some updates hehe Lars Nearly done here , The wreath of defeat will go to his survivors , if there are any Lurk Thanks his artillery's accurate and timely support fire , The wreath of defeat will go to his survivors , if there are any . Harv Half way through this and the fighting has not really started . The Capt awaiting a turn here . More good/bad news Nice to see donkeyfishes grandson doing so well I might have to go to the Isle of Fionn to work for 6 weeks , which I don't want too . Its raining too
  19. I like the flower , I see it comes with a donkay on it . As for the rest of the picture , the ugly stick was well busy .
  20. 'stops vigorously polishing balls' Dear Panzer Leader cricket is not queer at all . There's nothing quite like hearing the smack of leather upon willow , seeing the umpire stick his finger up , backing up your fellow batsman etc etc . You will never understand . Anyhow its time to oil my bat now .
  21. Ooh more cricket excellent , 'settles down on old leather armchair in front of ancient wireless set with several dozen tins of beer , and copy of Wisden'
  22. Micheal , I'd go just visit the "Get your Photo taken with Panzer Pete stall" , which you would be running of course .
  23. OOH Cricket , settles back in armchair to listen , whilst consulting Wisden . I wonder if there will be cakes for tea ? .
