  1. What eventually turned out to be a small flak gun kept bouncing shots off of three of my Shermans last evening, but I couldn't see it. I even went so far as to have one of my tanks unbutton to get a better look-see, but still the shots came out of nowhere.

Finally, I was able to see the pesky varmint, but none of my tanks targetted him and when I tried to force two of them to target him, it appeared as "Area Fire". How can this be? If he can see me, shouldn't I be able to see him. It's not even as if he was hidden. He was in the middle of a field, fr' cryin' out loud! Do you have any idea how frustrating it can be to have this Bozo "sp-tanging" shell after shell off my turrets and have two of my tankers saying, "Nope...nuffin out here."

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes! How many times have I wanted one of my tanks to BACK UP! JUST BACK UP NOW!!! But alas, it doesn't happen and then there's one more crew wandering the landscape. Even dragging a red waypoint to the vehicles rear doesn't seem to get them out of harms way quickly enough.

I hear you Chris and I feel your pain. Imagine my dismay when I finally get my hands on CMBO only to find out that CMBB is due out shortly. But I think we'll find that there are many folks out there who are on the same page as we are. I think we'll still be able to find a lot of challengers for games.
  4. I've played several scenarios where minefields have been featured and I played the demo version (Valley) at least a dozen times and I don't think I've ever had a man step on a mine whether he's my man or an enemy. Is this common or have I just been extremely fortunate? I haven't given them a wide berth either, I've had men pass by the signs on all sides.

I do agree that sometimes they seem to be identified a bit easy; in general they could be identified due to the FO teams' scissor binos and their radio equipment incl. antennae. That's the only explanation I can offer.

That's a good point. I know that if I happen to see the enemy arty spotter in the field, I immediately target him. I hate it when he drops 88's all over my head.

Another mystery to me is how quickly sharpshooters are taken out. I can have a large group of men moving across a map with maybe one sharpshooter in their midst and the next thing I know, the sharpie's bought the farm. Do they have targets painted on their jackets?

Does moving a commander into effective radius make a difference? And if so, does a commander with a particular attribute (lightning bolt for example) make a faster difference?

Don't know if that would make a diff or not. I've never had a jam last more than two turns and have never taken the time to try to send the nearest commander over to check it out. Usually they're needed elsewhere.

Last night during a QB, one of my .50s jammed. The CO was right beside it and the jam still lasted 3 turns. So I don't believe they can make a difference.

I still think that .50's should be more effective against light buildings and wooden bunkers though, at least to the point of reducing their cover factor for the people inside.

That's something that surprises me with CM. The .50 doesn't do as much damage as I would think.
