I knew the M24 was using a bomber gun, but i've always wondered how did this plane use a 75mm , and for what purpose exactly ?
-
What about favourable wind conditions ? It could explain such "miracles"..

It is the Marcus Bloess version i mentioned and it is downloadable at CMHQ/CombatMissions Temporary files section (ICM1947 provided the direct ling above). It's an Hi Res version of BTS graphics, with the star redone.Originally posted by Hoopenfaust 101:Great version...but where can I DL it from?

Still much to do ?
But it's already far better than the graphic i'm using !

I see... The dreadful Silence of the Modders.
Anyway, thank for the response, Keith.

Wich one do you have ?
I know only two HiRes version of the original BTS graphics and that's it. One is by Tiger and the other one by Marcus Bloess. Both are available at CMHQ.
But i agree with you that the Hellcat needs a new mod now... It is the most needed along with the Chaffee for the Allied vehicules.

Will the v 3.02 include incoming Tiger I (Makjager), Tiger II, and allied TDs (M10 and M36)mods ?
Will it also includeAllied (Americans) uniforms ?

Look closer, suddendly it becomes obviousOriginally posted by Bruce Robert:I don't get it. Everything looks normal to me.

I wish i were as lucky as you when my regulars squads don't shoot or miss their Panzerfausts-100 in ambush at 20m...
Please do not say your troops are conscripts...

Jaw-dropping, really.

Depends on what you call NORMAL relationship. If it's just about saying hello in the morning and good night before falling asleep there should be no problem.
I think AT tank guns will fire at everything because they generally have HE. Shrecks and bazookas fire sometimes at soft targets. To be sure not to reveal their position for a not worthy target, place the ambush point very next to the team, so you are sure they will not fire unless somebody steps on them, hide it and target yourself after checking manually the killing chance (you can do that when plotting orders by using the target line ; it will show you for exeample Hit chances 80% Kill excellent _je ne sais pas comment c'est traduit dans la version francaise).
Hope this helps
Salut

Thank you very much Agua, i've already been able to get the scenarios i was looking for from one of my PBEM opponent.
But it would be of public interest to save (at least the best among them) somewhere. I don't know how numerous they are.
And Manx, it's not the right thread to do that, but many tanks for your work !
-
Thanks Capt, i know those and they're nice , i'm using them of course, but i also think there's still room for improvement and CMMOS compatibility. I was aware of Marco's M10/TD project but i'm not sure if the Hellcat is included.
Marcel, i'm already holding my breath for Makjager's Tigers and all the beauties displayed on your Incoming page

...they haven't been modded for a long time, and now they look a bit strange among their photorealistic cousins of both sides.
I know some people could tell me to try myself (actually, i did but the result is so poor my crews refuse to embark the tank modded by me), but i'm asking the question : are there any plans to convert them at today's very high modding standards ?
-
Many thanks, Andrew.

The delay shown when ordering the mission is never very accurate ; minutes are not minutes and second are not seconds ; what i'd compare is the actual delay for the mission to arrive on target.
And maybe it's also partly random (which would be realistic, as 2 batteries can perform differently)

81mm is more for suppressing purposes (unless used on troops in the open) or for smoking missions (for those of course you don't need to fire the full load, and your 81mm will last the full game is used carefully).
If you want to inflict significant casualties to the ennemy, go for bigger shells.

Number of rounds for off-board arty is limited indeed.
Two turns is long enough for whoever is under raining 81mm.
-
I realized that scenarios from Combat Missions are no longer available because the site is dead.
Are the scenarios archived somewhere else like the Mods ?
If not it is too bad because some of them seem to be great and should stay available for download.

Suddendly I realize how credulous i'm...

Go on the Tips and Tricks forum, usually you get plenty of answers to that kind of questions.

Really impressive

First, thanks to all of you.
You're right , blitzkrieg is not the appropiate term here, i used it in the litteral meaning (a sudden and brutal attack based on surprise). Coup de main is far better describing my original idea, not to mention it's in my native language, as you've guessed.
I'm sorry i've no clue how to post a screenshot of the map, althought i realize it would help.
It is a ME type battle (both sides are equivalent in size, i.e. 2000 pts) but the difference with a QB is that we can start very close to each other, separated only by the river and the bridge ( if both sides decide to set-up forces near to the river). And the 4 flags are close together, 2 big in the village each side of the bridge, 2 small a little bit uphill on a road perpendicular to the river axe.
There is actually another way to cross the stream, some fords among tall pines on my right aisle. But nothing easy as an ambush would catch the crossing troops exposed in water and swamps.
I'm pretty convinced by analysis done : crossing the bridge early would't give me any decisive advantage and would put my forces at high risk.
So i have to find a way to oblige my opponent to expose its main assets so i'll be able to destroy them before any attempt by my troops to cross the river and conquer the opposite bank.
Cheers

Guns and infantry sounds
in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Posted
I observed that sometimes unspotted guns are temporarily identified as infantry ? or infantry sounds... I had the case with 40mm AA US guns or germans guns.
I wonder how the troops can make such a confusion ; the sound of a gun is clearly distinct and recognizable, and when the gun comes to shoot at your tanks from 1000m away, it is very clear that it is not infantry only.
