  1. I'm off until 5th January and would also be interested in a CMAK tcp/ip game or a quick PBEM if either of you are interested. You can contact me by PM.
  2. Joe's Bridge on the Escaut Canal - still a Vandeleur. [ January 28, 2004, 03:46 PM: Message edited by: Cromwell. ]
  3. My father was an RAF air gunner on Sunderlands based at Koggala in Ceylon and then later(postwar) in India. He is in the photograph of 240 squadron arranged in front of a Sunderland in the book "Wings of the Dawning". His father (my grandfather) was shot in the head on the Somme in 1916 and had a metal plate fitted in his skull. He lived into his nineties. When in hospital a few years ago, the staff were suprised that such technology was used so long ago. My mother was a child living in Coventry when it was bombed.

  6. The author of that last report was in hospital in Marston Green, Birmingham. I was born in the same hospital some years later. Small world .... The use of the PIAT at high angles and against structures is mentioned in a book I have (Anti-Tank Weapons, by Terry Gander). An effective range of 350 yards is quoted, which agrees the reports here. The PIAT apparently had a bubble sight to allow the desired angle of elevation to be set - apologies if this is common knowledge. Bryn
  7. Hi I downloaded this mod earlier today, but it doesn't seem to have installed correctly - I only get the steppe woods bases - all of the rest seems to be disabled. Anyone else have this problem? Cheers Bryn
  8. Hi I'll take the Brits if anyone fancies the Germans. Cheers Bryn
  9. If anyone is itching to try out these little blighters right now, all you need to do is download my "Kampfgruppe Matenaar" scenario from the Scenario Depot. And don't forget to review it.
  10. Geordie Just north of the wall actually. If you look at the Scenario Depot you will find a map called "Hilly Open Country"; my attempt at creating a CM version of my part of Northumberland. Cheers Bryn
  11. Hi Geordie I live about 10 miles north of you. In fact I can just about see Stocksfield from my house. If you want to see what CM looks like with a full set of mods installed, let me know and we can arrange a time for you to come over. Cheers Bryn
  12. Whilst we are (kind of) on the subject, does anyone know how widespread the "Honey" name was in Europe? Was it only used by western desert veterans or by the UK trained army as well?
  13. I would have to add: Epsom Counterattack by Chris Hall and 49th Recce by Andreas
  14. Thanks to those who tested this one for me. It will be available soon from the Scenario Depot.
