1. Gyrene, I would use some of that post as my sig, but I wouldn't be able to decide which to use as it all had me rollin'.
 2.
quote:
Originally posted by Paton Returns: but if you have a program called Res edit witch is clearly what all the people at big time software used to create the game , u can edit the code the textures and the sound litterly its just a matter of copiny and pasteing you textures over the old ones !

Dude, what you are talking about is mearly making new textures and copying them in and overwriting the ones in there. I don't need no special program for that. The textures are in regual bitmap files, so all you have to do is to repaint them. No big deal. You can't, I repeat, *can't* edit their physics and information. That stuff is within the main executable which *cannot* be altered.
quote:
or as the case may be adding your own ones , Sound to if you have SOund edit the name kinada discribes it ! you can edit all the sounds in the game and create yoyr own ones !

No ****, here again the sounds are no more than regular wav files which can be altered as easily as the bitmaps. So here again, no big deal.
quote:
if anyof you guys want these programs id be happy to mail or e mail them to u they r really small

We don't need your stupid programs because they are not needed in the first place. So just how are you creating a GULF WAR MOD? Are you making M1A1 Abrams and T-72 MBTs? PS. Forum members, I'm really not a new guy. I'm an old veteran (member #<1500), I just registered again with a new email. But I ain't gonna tell ya what my other login name is.
 3.
quote:
Originally posted by Gyrene: I smell I prank thread..... Gyrene

I'm not so sure, Gyrene. He's been mentioning it in other threads. I think our ol' boy Patton Returns needs to lay off the hash and realize that he's actually editing Close Combat. I don't know about him, but all the game info is stored in the .exe is it not. Unless he can decompile the executable, then I don't know what he's editing.
 4. I can wait to try Velike Luki. Gonna be awesome seeing that in 3D after some of the classic hotseat games my friend and I used to play from the V for Vicotry game of the same name.
 5.
quote:
Originally posted by Paton Returns: I was working on one myself but i got too ocupied with the GULF WAR MOD im working on check out the section i'l give your senerio a go because i love that movie ! Thanx[/QB]

Can you please enlighten us on to exactly what the hell you are talking about? You can't make a GULF WAR MOD. Everything is hard-coded. This isn't Close Combat boy.
 6.
quote:
Originally posted by Mike the bike: I'd like to suggest that some of the fog of war options that players currently set for themselves only be set for the game in CM2. Hits & ricochets should still be noted, since I believe most shells would leave a spark or be tracer so you would often know where they went. This would allow detailed vehicle hits to be turned off for both players, for example. Additionally I'd like to see an option that removes the bases from AFV's & equpment so you don't necessarily know whether they're knocked out or not. This would provide an incentive to keep shooting until the bloody thing explodes, or is otherwise obviously destroyed.

Well good idea actually. The FoW should be modified for destroyed AFVs. One really shouldn't know unless it is painfully obvious. Excuse the pun there.
 7.
quote:
Originally posted by lcm1947: This idea has been brought up 1000 times? Damn, that's a lot. Maybe not that many times ? 1000 - WOW!

Well you're right. I think I have counted at least 935 times, so yeah, a 1000 times is a bit much.
 8. Care to clarify that statement? BTW, this post should make me a member.
 9. Jesus christ man, can you not take a hint? CM2:Barbarossa to Berlin will cover the Eastern Front. It is due out, hopefully, by late this year. So do us a favor and quit your lying about making these Total Mod Conversions. You can't possibly be altering tank info, it's all hard-coded. BTS made it this way for a reason so slap-nuts like yourself wouldn't go screwing around with game info and making some ubertank that could withstand a 200mm shell in the ass. 10. Boyz, looks like weev fund 'nuther won of dem der Rob/1 impersonators. Get'im! Paton Returns, dude, do yourself a favor and get a clue would ya. CM2 will be the Eastern Front. You'll get all the Stalingrad battles you want.

 12. Another even better question, how are you editing the units? All of their information is hard-coded.
 13.
quote:
Originally posted by SadBloke: im a big fan of sheep (for my own personal and highly secretive reasons) are sheep going to be included in CM2?

Don't let Mace here ya that you like sheep, 'cause he'll get jealous.
 14.
quote:
Originally posted by Schrullenhaft: Which driver are you using - an NVidia Reference driver or a manufacturer supplied driver ? What OS are you running ? The following sequence comes from a GeForceMX installation in Windows 2000 (with Reference driver v.6.50): Go to Start Menu > Control Panel > Display control panel > Settings tab > Advanced button > GeForce2 MX tab (yours will probably vary) > Additional Properties button > Direct 3D Settings tab > More Direct 3D button > Antialiasing tab > "Force antialiasing in all applications" check box - check it. This may help with text if you're running Windows 2000. There should be a slider on this tab that you can adjust. Adjusting to the left lowers/disabled FSAA and to the right increases the level of FSAA. Depending on the version of the drivers you have installed and your OS; the previous sequence may deviate from what is installed on your machine (tab names, etc.). 16. Hi, I've got a Geforce 2 GTS 64MB DDR and I can't figure out how you enable FSAA in D3D mode. The options are available through the OpenGL settings, but not the D3D settings. Does enabling it in OpenGL enact it for D3D applications? Thanks for any help.

"Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, we're going fishing before you are. 19. Hiya all. I've seen on CMHQ, is it? where it has a 6+MB file of all the scenarios that were available at some scenario database. My question is now where are some sites that have new scenarios since the data base shut down?
 20.
quote:
Originally posted by David Aitken: Yeah, geez, really. Why can't everyone take each other seriously, like me?

With a name like Aitken, are you aitken (aching) to drob over dead sometime soon?

But being a fellow FAQ'er, Gustav just kinda ignored it and carried on with the story at hand which was looking for wool to cover his fish or some stupid thing, but then.....
 22. What's wrong with Macs? I love them for their simplicity. Drag and drop interface, I love it. Most of all I love their cute little transparent color cases. You can see the insides somewhat. Blue is my favorite along with a red mouse. And it's a hot little sucker too--speeding around the desktop, clicking away at everything it can find. Who is this Maximus and what does he have against Macs or Apple?

 24.
quote:
Originally posted by SS_Obergruppenführer: Well, not as much blurry as pure crap. It's completely messed up. You can't even know it's the sky. The CMBO maps where you fight are squares, as is the sky. It's so messed up, you can see that. It does not look like a sphere. Why is that?

I'm confused. How long have you been playing the game? The battlemap has always been square. The blurry area between the map and the horizon is file 1503. The sky files are displayed twice I believe. Each wraps around a half of the square box you speak of. Or maybe four times. Hard to tell if you can see the seems.
