1. Good Friday morning, maggots!! Except for Mike/Stalin, who is on downunder time where every day is Shear-a-Sheep Day. Last night brought another convincing German victory in the BDLRM!! _uxcva was unable to break through the German defenses, while leaving various piles of American scrap metal around the battlefield. The current score stands: Germans 8, Allies 0, with six more Allied commanders in the process of losing. I love this game!

 5. Good morning, maggots!! The sun'll come out Tomorrow Bet your bottom dollar That tomorrow There'll be sun! Just thinkin' about Tomorrow Clears away the cobwebs, And the sorrow 'Til there's none! When I'm stuck a day That's gray, And lonely, I just stick out my chin And Grin, And Say, Oh The sun'll come out Tomorrow So ya gotta hang on 'Til tomorrow Come what may Tomorrow! Tomorrow! I love ya Tomorrow! You're always A day A way! The sun'll come out Tomorrow So ya gotta hang on 'Til tomorrow Come what may Tomorrow! Tomorrow! I love ya Tomorrow! You're always A day A way! Tomorrow! Tomorrow! I love ya Tomorrow! You're always A day A way! That would be nature boy Axe2-4-6-8 who is currently held incommunicado somewhere in the suburbs of Toronto.

 7. It had been so long since I had a turn from you that I forgot what a grotesque abortion of a scenario we were playing. Now that I've gotten to make a move, it all comes flooding back. Germans in sandbag emplacements and trenches on the top of a mountain, and my Tommies trying to climb the thing. I thought I had taken a good defensive position in BDLRM, but this is much better. This could be the map for the next BDLRM! All of my turns are out!! Where are the turns you maggots owe me? GRARGHRRARGHRARGGHR!!  I might as well go to bed!

 9. Hmmm: Boo, Roo, Goo, Poo, Doo ... I sense a certain quality of sameness here. I guess it has something to do with all of these being unfortunate biological by-products that are better left out of sight, out of mind. Certainly none are things you want to talk about in polite company, which is why this seemed like such a good place for the discussion. Gamey updates - Still seven BDLRM games incomplete. Thermopylae and Lurkur are sending a turn every couple of months, if they are especially ambitious. These two make Goodale (the maggot) seem like a speed demon. Keke is still MIA. Boo, mike_the_weiner, and _uxcva are close to wrapping up their pitiful efforts. MTW managed to get my bogged, buttoned, smoke-covered Panther with his engineers, which is giving him delusions of grandeur. He now expects his engineers to sprint off the map, which will be tough since they are all lying on their bellies right now. Gamey revenge scenarios - Pseudo and I are wrecking a village at night in a thunderstorm. Artillery is flying just about everywhere, and many Americans and Germans are dying every turn. Robohn has his Italians hiding somewhere on our map, while my armored British juggernaut rolls toward the VLs unopposed. So far all I've managed to accomplish is to create a very respectable dust cloud. Snarker is hiding out defending his Tunesian airfield against Lt. Col. Frost and his men. Unfortunately we are a long way from the airfield, so our attack will have to wait until we arrive. Gamey Axe is defending a village with four hull-down Pz IVs, which I have to attack with Russian armored cars and halftracks and scout cars. Through the snow. Seems fair to me.

 13. That would be you, maggot. Unless Rune has balanced this scenario as carefully as I balanced the BDLRM. My Brits are in just about the situation you would expect from a completely random arrival. Thanks Rune, great job. I've been spending far too much time over at the GF, and I feel completely filthy. Some of those guys are certifiably insane. Thanks to you all for providing a refuge from the crazies. Kitty, how did you do on your math test? What is the point of converting metric measurements in the US? Every recipe and ingredient is already measured in ounces, cups, or inches.

 15. Axe, is there another Canadian national holiday this week; something like "National Snowshovel Buying Day" or "Stock Up on Supplies for the First Blizzard, Eh! Week"? Can you reporters just take a week off whenever you feel like it, since there isn't any news to report anyway? You seem to have an unusually flexible calendar. I'm jealous!!

 17. Kitty, was there ever by any chance a little girl in your house who got sick and vomited pretty regularly? Not counting you, of course. Oh, and have you seen a set of photos your great-grandfather took of Adolph and the boys in Germany in the early 40's? Apparently the American photographer cleverly preceded the D-Day invasion by a couple of years. You ARE the evil spawn of that Goodale maggot, aren't you!!

 19. You tell 'em, Kitty!! Don't hold back!! Tell them what you really think. Well, thankfully she was in a good mood when she got home from school. Although I do wonder what she's learning about in culinary school if she's suggesting we eat the mold from her basement. Sounds to me like she should be studying brewing instead. You don't suppose MasterGoodale (the maggot) has moved west, do you? If Kitty starts talking about the ants, or using any more of the Goodale excuses, I'm getting concerned for her sanity.

 21. Ever seen Kitty mad? I mean, more angry than usual? The whole world trembles in fear at the might of a Kitty bezerk. Mace

 23. I don't know if it's common, but I have the very same problem. I can't even manage to complete a setup for a one player game. Playing against the AI just seems completely pointless to me. After experiencing the interaction with a human opponent and the head-to-head competition, there's no going back. At least not for me. [ July 16, 2004, 10:31 AM: Message edited by: Dave H ]
