How does one get up in the morning without having one? But I guess if you take every little snid-bit personally or seriously then I guess one wouldn't. I don't know about you, but I have had a seriously bad experience in my life in the last couple of years. (A bad car accident) If didn't have a good sense of humor, I wouldn't be able to deal with my situation. I would have probably committed suicide if didn't. So live a little bit and smile every now and then, like this

You know what..I am glad that you manage to smile and have such a wonderful sense of humor. I feel the love vibrate from you. You are pure light, baby. All love. And fun, fun, fun. And to think that all that is wrapped up in such a neat little package. My My! I am simply stumped for words. No, really. And before I forget. Thank you for your obviously kindhearted concern on my behalf, but let me assure you that it is better spent elsewhere as I am sure that even your vast pool of love and care have its limits. Mr. Winterbottom All roses and peaches, baby.
 2.
quote:
Originally posted by Mannheim Tanker: Ummm...several people, including myself, did respond to his question. I poked a little fun at him too, but I hardly think it's worth all of your tears. I really don't care if you laugh Mr. Winterbottom, because you are either having a bad day or are simply a humorless wet blanket. Good day. EDIT: Spelling (how ironic is THAT!? LOL!) [ 05-01-2001: Message edited by: Mannheim Tanker ]

Heh..somehow I expected you to go personal on me. I guess it kinda fits you rather nicely. Mr. Winterbottom
 3.
quote:
Originally posted by Mannheim Tanker: You guys need to lighten up; we're making fun of his spelling, not his manhood for crying out loud. Everyone take a breath and make a quick common sense check Now, get back in the FAQ thread where you belong, MrSpkr!

Ok.. So imagine that you have something you wonder about or want to say. And all the answers you get back is making fun of your spelling. Now how can you read that as "we are only making fun of his spelling"? In my opinion that goes well beyond that. Sounds like respect or fun? I know you will not hear me laughing. Mr.Winterbottom
 4. I can't say I subscribe to the idea of getting your cheap thrills and laughs out of somebody who seemingly is trying so hard to reach out and engage in the exchange of ideas. It just baffles me completely. And max, yes he *was* a pain in the ass in his first posts. And yes, I have to confess I did have a good laugh out of it. But this "good natured" flaming should be well below anybodys standards. Give him some breathing room I say. Next thing you know, I will be up for the Nobel peace prize. Mr.Winterbottom
 5. Aaw...come on now!!! For Christ's sake!! The man wants our opinion and most of us starts to make fun of him. Granted, he may do well with trying to do a bit more research. And I am well aware of his first posts, but this is getting out of hand. With all of the flaming in his direction I would have thought that I was browsing a FPS board or something of that nature. At first I was thinking he was a troll, but I am not so sure anymore. I think it is only fair to give him room to fall on his ass a couple of times to see if he figures it out or not. Instead of just pouncing on every mistake he makes. My 2 cents anyways! Mr. Winterbottom
 6. Heh.. But then again, you gotta hand it to Paton.. he *is* persistent. Good show, old man. Mr. Winterbottom Edit: Retarded [ 05-01-2001: Message edited by: MrWinterbottom ]
 7. *BUMP* I am amazed at the knowledge that this board (sometimes ) represents. An extremely interesting discussion to say the least. I for one, am all ears and eyes. Mr.Winterbottom Edit: Spelling [ 04-29-2001: Message edited by: MrWinterbottom ]
 8. Must be pretty amazing stuff judging from the comments... alas..I seem unable to get then now...
 9. I would rack it up to old fashioned bad luck with a little bit of learning to do. Mr.Winterbottom
 10. I remember taking a quick look at the pictures on the box a while back and it looked to me like all they had done was to replace the graphics from the mildly mediocre Warhammer 40k series. (Except the very first one which was a pretty good hot seater) Of course I promptly threw it away in disgust and proceeded to wash my pretty hands. Mr.Winterbottom
 11. Ehhh..good thing I brushed up on my russian before I went there..... heh...
 12.
quote:
Originally posted by coe: ...snip... Also I was wondering if there is such things as (nonTank) anti tank guns these days, or are they like all missles (hey are there any sticky - anti tank mines anymore?)

Well...I am sure weapons such as the tried and true Carl Gustaf is going to be in use for still quite a number of years. (Swedish toast ) Seen it be put to good use in Lebanon and Bosnia. But then again, you might have been thinking about less mobile assets? Mr.Winterbottom
 13. Methinks that kiwijoe is about to get spanked. Mr.Winternottom
 14. Hmmm...It doesn't sound overly unreasonable. I gotta try this. Thanks mate. (And if it doesn't work...well..curse you!!! ) Mr.Winterbottom
 15.
quote:
Originally posted by Pak40: I agree! The world was also slightly fuzzy and had occasional scratches. If BTS does a WWI version of Combat Mission, they will have to speed up the replay feature because according to old WWI film footage everyone moved faster back then.

Hmmm...that would take care of the no-we-don't-run light MG issue............ Mr.Winterbottom
 16. I think it is safe to assume that all can agree to disagree on this particular subject. Mr.Winterbottom
 17. I agree with Fangorn. To have the riflesquads light MG being able to run, while the independent light MG cannot strikes me as odd. Especially since I do know for a fact that MG teams are able to run and keep up with the riflesquad. (as stated earlier..yawn) Well..I will give this a rest for now... But seems that the issue is atleast somewhat controversial. Which is a good thing. Mr.Winterbottom
 18.
quote:
Originally posted by Michael Dorosh: I've seen photos of German squads with the ammo distributed amongst all the riflemen - at least on the march. If you have a specific source that states that the Germans did it differently, it would be more definitive than either you or I using outside experience to "settle" the question.

No, can only back it up with my own experience. And yes, I have also seen pictures of german personnel on the march with ammo. But as you yourself stated, that was under march. I really hate to nitpick, but under actual combat conditions I have a hard time imagining a squad trying to pass the ammo down to the MG team. The thought of having the MG "tied" down with the rest of the squad when it really could have been put to good use further out to the flank for example gives me the shivers. It just doesn't sit right with me at all. But then again, what do I know? I wasn't there so for all I know that was the thing back then. And I am not trying to "settle" anything. I am merely trying to air my little view on what I think is overly leisurely light MG teams. By all means though, feel free to disagree.
quote:
(One minor nit, also - I think you were thinking of the term ASL (Assistant Squad Leader) or 2 i/c (second in charge) instead of the term XO (Executive Officer) which would not apply to a squad-sized unit.)

Actually, I wasn't thinking of any specific term at all. Was just trying to illustrate how we used to do it. And I still think that the whole concept of "non-running" light MG teams is quite odd. But I for one still like the game and will quite happily game on with it even with "limitations" like that. Mr.Winterbottom
