I know lots of site to download mods, but how to search it?? How i can search for example winter tanks for CM:BO??

You should be able to get all of Tom's stuff here at Tom's FTP

Hey Scott, really nice looking skies. If I weren't so darned busy with another building mod, I'd consider taking a shot at them.
CMBB and CMAK use three textures for each sky, with one of them mirrored on the opposite side to make the fourth side. Really tough to get them all to blend together smoothly.
@Phillipe:
That house is made up pieces of my previous building mods, and even my tree mod. There's not much I can do with it since the CM models can't be changed.
-
I've finished the eight small buildings, and I'm currently making damaged versions. After that, the winter and winter damaged versions. I'll probably release them as the first installment, then a separate release for shacks and the large buildings in the distant future.
BFawlty:
Yes and no. CMBO buildings will mostly fit CMAK models, but there are a few pretty big issues. The main problem is there were no separate damage textures for CMBO. This means that when a building takes a certain amount of damage, it will switch to the default damaged building textures in CMAK.
Also, there were no shacks in CMBO, and the church model might be somewhat different.

Which ones are the photos again?
They really look like the real thing. Can't wait, oh that's right, I already have them.

Yep, that's one of Juju's allright. Besides testing them (lucky me), they keep me humble when working on mine.Originally posted by junk2drive:now that i can finally look at them all, what is the brown brick large building behind one of the houses? juju's sealion?

Man, this is really great ! Add some shutters if you really think it's good, but your screenshots already make me impatientOriginally posted by Bogdan:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by Tanks a Lot:

I'll see if I can add some more?

Great job, as usual, this is brilliant.
By the way, I've noticed that none of your little houses had shutters. As your work is still in progress, I guess this is rather normal, but shutters are, you surelly know of course, very common in France, still today.
Let me show you an oooold woman opening her oooold shutters in her ooold rural house :
I suspect the house, the shutters and the woman to have not change since the 40's !
Keep up the good work !
I'll see if I can add some more?

Thanks Boo.Originally posted by Boo Radley:Superb work, Tanks.
When might they be finished?
At my current pace, I'll be lucky to finish this year.

I'm pretty much done with eight of them, except for damaged and winter versions. I updated my website to include the latest screenshots.
Check it out here Normandy buildings preview

I'm not a master modder, I don't even play one on T.V. I am however, working on a set of Normandy-style buildings, and would like to see pictures of the real thing.
Please post them, or send them to the email address in my profile. Thanks.

I think everyone's happy to see you doing buildings again Juju. Very high quality work. They really do look like the photos.

Looks great Tom. Another winner.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions.Originally posted by Dandelion:Yes that looks like Caen-stone buildings, very good in fact. I worked on a Normandy mod for CMBO myself - for years - so I know what a hassle it is to get those rocks to look good, with the two different stretching of bmp on sides and front. Not to mention that cornerstone you've got there, very good. Can't remember how many curses I spent on trying to make those fit corners like that.
(when Maguas appeared I gave up my project, btw)
Seems to be a glassdoor as frontdoor on picture 2 there. Would perhaps fit better on a commercial building, like a shop or so? Just a sugegstion, I seem to recall there were a lot of sturdy wooden doors on the farmhouses, many coloured, like grassgreen and so. With heavy iron handles and so on.
Yeah please do go on. That was the easy part (yes I am kidding and yes I know what I am kidding about) Now for the Honfleur "Tall Heavy buildings" In my (failed) project I divided the fronts of the large heavy buildings into three, graphically only of course, to create the thin, tightly packed houses typical of older Normandie (indeed typical of any older European city). Used the bright colours too, you know the blue and red and so that they use. Worked well but of course it forced the same colour on all side elements.
And in my personal opinion (I am about to blaspheme) one is more helped by converting the High Hedge to a high stone wall instead of bocage, easily done for a person handy with the stone such as you. There is just no way to recreate a Norman rural village without the high, heavy stone walls. The bocage can be simulated in so many other ways. In reality it looks like low treelines anyway.
Well here I go. What I meant was yes, do go on. Were you planning a building mod or a complete Normandy mod?
Cheerio
Dandelion
Yeah, those stones and corner pieces took a long time to get right. I'll see if I can come up with a different door for the second one.
Does that pulley thingie I put up in the loft of the barn look out of place?
I'm still not sure if I'll make the tall heavy buildings as one, or several different sections. I'd like to keep all the heavy buildings with a stone exterior for easier recognition of building type.
I'm just planning on doing the buildings. They'll take a long time by themselves.
-
Wow, that was fast. You weren't all supposed to look at the same time.
I'm going to have to find a better host for the preview pics. Any ideas? something in my price range (free).

Only the four small heavy buildings so far. I just wanted to see what people think and whether I should continue with more. Check them out here Normandy buildings

Now those are sandbags. I know how tough they are to work on, and he did a great job on them.
-
If that's an early sketch, I can't wait for the finished product. That really does look great, but then we expect that from you.
It is really tough work, and having to make damaged and winter versions doesn't help. I'm still not sure why I've started doing them again, but it's good to know I'm not alone.
-
Right now, I'd be happy if I could just make a complete set of Normandy style buildings. You don't see very many building mods because they are very time consuming.Originally posted by phil stanbridge:So then Tanks, can we expect to see a full "Normandy" style mod coming our way, with greenery et al to suit? From what we can see it looks excellent!

Nothing to see here.

Somebody recently started working on some Normandy style buildings, but he has a long way to go.
He also needs to figure out a way to show his previews.

So many choices, so little time. Some great additions to an already great mod.
