1. Whats the site anyway. Thought it was guru3d.com but that appears to be something else and 3dguru.com doesn't come up. Was a good place to get the latest vid drivers. Using the 29.90 drivers and they seem fine so far. [ August 29, 2002, 06:07 PM: Message edited by: CJMello ]
2. I had a similiar problem when I first got the video card (Geoforce2 GTS). My refresh rate must have been screwed up somehow and changing that helped. But I also did hit a few other things I can't remember too
3. OK, my OS in Win98. I had installed the 23.11 over the very old drivers via the program (2311) downloaded from guru3d.com. The reason I wanted to reinstall the drivers was I had updated DirectX to 8.1 from 8.0 and had heard it was best to reinstall after updating DirectX. Anyway I noticed some stuttering in a 3D game. True or not I uninstalled 23.11 and used the detonator destroyer and booted. Then applied 23.11 again and booted and still had the white screen. I then attempted to use the disk that came with the card (screwed it up somehow and lock up my system-fixed by a pro:() and now I am back to very old drivers (0533)I plan to do the 2311 again but wanted to be sure of the uninstal process when I want to upgrade from 2311 to better drivers. To answer your other question when I installed the 2311 drivers it didn't appear to do anything at all and I was left with white screen. BTW, thanks for your effort. 4. What I did was to reinstall the drivers. So I removed 23.11 via add|remove programs and then used the detonator. Booted and reloaded the drivers via the program for 23.11 and booted. Nothing has changed and my screen is as if no divers are loaded. Anyway back to the original ones now but want to get back to 23.11 without problems.
5. Schrullenhaft, I pretty much did as you said including the detonator destroyer from guru3D.com. Its just when I went to reinstall nothing happened.
6. Schrullenhaft, I recently upgraded to DirectX 8.1 and then did my soundcard drivers. I was concerned about my video card drivers because I had heard awhile back that when you upgrade Dx it may cause a slight problem with your video drivers. I have a Geoforce2 GTS 32mb with the detonater drivers 23.11. I though I corrctly did the proceedure to uninstall and reinstall. Here is what I did: UNinstalled the 23.11 drivers in Add|Remove programs. Ran the detonator destroyer to fully remove the drivers. Then restarted and installed the 23.11 drivers again, restarted, except that nothing happened. Tried again to no avail. So I tried to install the original drivers from the CD that came with it but now I not booting beyond the Win98 screen. I can get that sorted out eventually but what is the correct proceedure to uninstall the detonator drivers and installing. Thanks, [ March 03, 2002, 12:20 PM: Message edited by: CJMello ]
7. I must agree that the Scenario Depot is a great site for all things CM.
8. Boo, one of my favorite Robert Duvall characters.
9. Running a PII 400 and will go with a PIII or PIV. Whatever I can afford now and probably max the RAM out. After this, next time will be a whole new machine which I am not looking foward to. Too used to this one.
10. Nope. Didn't think vehicles could run over troops.

I thought of tossing him off the porch until I realized who it was, sorry Jeff. The only other wargamer I ever met was Mike Shepard back in the old Campaign Series days.
13. Just like Dustin Hoffman in 'The Graduate.'
14.
quote:
My wife is pregnant with our first. The upside to this in terms of CM game time is that she is now quite tired all the time. After dinner she seems to fall asleep on the couch round about 8pm. That means I get 2-3 hours of game time if I want it. Now, as The_Capt points out above, this may backfire on me in the future once said kid actually pops out. But, for now, I have plenty of game time. So, you can increase your gaming time and contribute to the world's overpopulation problem all in "one shot." Your mileage with this strategy may vary.

One word. SLEEP. Catch up on it now because once the kid comes you will never see enough of it again.

18. Dang, I wish I knew about the get together sooner. I would have loved to make the trip. I was up in Wolfeboro a few weeks ago to see the Wright Museum. I posted some pics here: www.geocities.com/cjmello63
19.
quote:
As far as removing my mods I don't see what the big deal is. It hurts no one as there are more mods out there than you can shake a stick at and more always being made.

Then there are players out there who like your work and always looked foward to it, as with the other modders.
