Wow Thanks for all the info, I am heading out, to get some better Blank-CD's. As I stated before, I am a electronics & PC tech student, but we have not got into CD-Burner technology yet,(not until next quarter will we cover burners). I am sorry, for all the questions, I am generally a very good student,but I am at a loss on this CD to CD burning process. Hopefully with all this knowledgeable info, I will have the problem solved by tonight. JMcGuire, I appreciate the time you spent on the info above. It appears you are well informed on Burner Tech. Well I am off to COMP USA & FRYES. Also I noticed you said, only losing a few cds, in the past few years. I only wish, I have wasted 7 now, in only 4 days. Thanks to all for the help, I am too tired tonight to mess with the Burner. I am going straight to bed. Any other ideas, I will surely check out, so if have a suggestion leave it for me. I talked to my instructor at school, he thinks maybe the software need to be updated. Yes I am a Computer Tech student, and I have never had problems such as these. I usually can get problems solved the same day. I am beginning to wonder if the software is crap, or maybe even a Bad burner. I'll check for more posts tomorrow. Thanks guys

OK guys more questions: You guys who have burned copies of CM as Backups, have you tried to install with them or do you just play your already installed CM with them??? Because I burned CM and the CD showed COMBAT MISSION, but I unitstalled CM on my new PC and then tried to install with my Burnt Copy, and it froze on me installing the Wav files. So I thought maybe you guys just use the CD with your already installed CM. I am sorry for all the questions, but I am beginning to think this burner is not all its crack up to be. I have tried CD to CD Burn Tried drag CM files in the CD wizard creator propgram. I am simply at a loss, I am about ready to smash the damn thing. So if again you might have any suggestions, please help me. Starting to sound like a broken record.

I am dealing with my own problem now. But I also have the voodoo 5500. In your options for your card. How do you have it set. I had problems similar to yours, when I had the Open GL/Glide, and also I had a problem with CM with the 4 times anti-aliasing. Here is my suggestion, mess around with your different options (setting) for you card. Then after changing you options, settings, test the change on CM. Are you guys with burners, copying CD-ROM to CD-ROM or are you saving CD-ROM to hard drive then adding files to Burned CD, through the burner program???

Also, since the Sony CDs are recordable only and the Burner showed 95% complete, before the error occured. Does this mean the CD is garbage now???

Yes in another thread, I said I just purchased a back up copy of CM, 2 days ago. Now I have decided to give my Dad the copy of CM I purchased,as a Backup, for his B-Day (on May 15) since my new PC has a burner. My new PC just arrived today and I can't get CM to Burn on a CD. The Back up copy has not arrived yet, I am trying to burn my original copy, it has a couple tiny scratches,but it loaded onto my new PC with no problem. I have tried to Burn original copy of CM, and get errors: 1.check connects from Burner to CD-ROM,clean CD's,restart computer, when I try to burn on 1 type of CD, type(Imation 4x-10x Compatible 650mb CD-RW). 2.Information was not sent fast enough to CD-burner, close some programs, or defrag system, with another type of CD, type(Sony Recordable 650mb CDQ). I just finished the defrag on my new PC, so I am gonna go try again. Also I will close some programs. One final note, I noticed record Data option, So since CM installed on the new PC, with no problem, I am gonna try to copy the Data, instead of Copying CD to CD. I write back when I find out if I was succesful. ANY RECOMMENDATIONS ON HOW TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM, SURE WOULD BE APPRECIATED. PLEASE HELP ME I HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR HOURS.

AHHHH That hurts, stop it, stop it I remember the old days too. It is amazing how much CM has changed due to our great modders. Modders I salute you.

Man, I really feel for you. I to have noticed small scratches on my CD recently. By my number you would think I have not had CM that long, but I changed names after about 8 months on this forum. I have used those scratch repair kits before, with only about a 60% success rate. My copy still has not given me a problem yet, but I know its coming. I am scared to try to use the repair kit on my copy of CM since it still works properly. I ordered a back up copy of CM yesterday, so I am not gonna try to repair the scratches untill I get it. When my back up copy comes, I will try the repair kit on my copy of CM and let you know if it was succesful. Sorry man, I wish I could do something for you.

I am sure this has been mentioned before, but I never heard anyone say anything. Anyways I was talking with a college buddy tonight at school,(whats up CJ,Dad,Josh & Aron) who also plays CM, and I suggested that 2 seperate players be able to play as the same side. I even thought why not just make each color of the set-up, determine the seperate person units. This way we could have up to six people playing the same scenario. I thought this would be good for new people to CM. My dad just ordered the game, and I sure when he gets it, I will kick his butt several times before he gets the hang of it. If this option that I mentioned was available, I could simply have my Dad play on the same side as I am, and get used to how things work. My buddy Josh has had the game for a while and just last week I showed him that there is a zoom. He had no idea,and neither did a friend of his, now he thinks CM is even better, if we were to have played on the same side there is a good chance I would have told him to zoom in on a cluster of woods or a building, before now. Ya I know it is in the hot keys, but some people don't bother with viewing the hot keys. Not me, I studied all the controls the day I downloaded the demo. (Sorry Josh your good at school, I kill you at CM, I thinks it a fair trade HE HE). So personally I think it is a great idea and all my friends and Dad agree. (Dad just downloaded the demo night before last). I am not sure if it is possible & it might be to late to make it into CM2, but I still think it is a good idea.

I am currently working on another new scenario, and I noticed that the winter mod for my Jagdpanzer does not really blend well with snow. I noticed there is one at The Last Defence site, it is not bad, but it is not high-res. I like high-res mods, and cannot seem to find one. Can anyone point me in the right direction???
