  1. WOW! That's awesome mod! I must steal that idea (put some snow to my grass mod) to make my own snow mod. Thanks!
  2. Well I have the same problem. I have Audigy, WinXP and VIA chipset. I don't have the complete cure though. BUT, you can get rid of the loop (at least I did) if you turn the ambient sounds off (shift-S or was it ctrl-S?). You can still hear other sounds, but no bird singing. Hope this helps.
  3. lcm1947 thanks! You should still test my new grass, that picture is bad quality, you can see the elevations easier than in that picture. You can always take the old grass back. --------------------------------------------- Anyone have any comments about those marsh and brushes? Any suggestions to make them better? Thanks.
  4. Hi again people! I've been working with many different terrain mods lately: New grass (looks awesome), marsh, brushes, tweaked some trees (removed some ugly trees and replaced with better ones with a little different tone. woods doesn't look so restless now) I'm soon going to make new snow, new snow treebases, new snow road and maybe some other things. Here's couple of screenshots: The grass, now you can see elevations a bit worse, but it looks WAY better and you can still see the elevations more clear than in other mods. (That I've seen..) Image quality is rather bad though. Then marsh and brushes and tweaked trees at background: I like when different tiles blend with the terrain and doesn't "sting you in the eye". Comments, please. One big problem is, I don't know when I'm 100% satisfied with my graphics, so I keep fine tuning them all the time. I should set up my own web site, where you could get the latest version of my different mods.
  5. Yeah, it's not that bad price for the best game EVER! Buy it now! 100% satisfaction guaranteed! PLUS, you will get the absolutely best game community (a bit weird sentence me thinks, but you know what I tried to say, right? ). Just look at this message board! These people are just awesome! I love 'em! [ 07-16-2001: Message edited by: Wolf^ ]
  6. My vote goes to .. Wolf's hi-contrast terrain. Just beautiful.. Look! Wolf's new treebases included! Shameless advertising or something.
  7. BTW, that highcontrast_pack.zip doesn't include those treebases! wolf_highcontrast_pack.zip = grass/snow wolf_treebases.zip = treebases It seems many started to download that pack and I thought maybe they thought that the treebases were in that too.
  8. Ok, here it is! ftp://wolf:mod@130.234.189.114 Go go go! [ 07-11-2001: Message edited by: Wolf^ ]
  9. I never really liked those dark odd-looking treebases, none of them fit well with my grass. So I created "lighter" version, with shadow-look. If someone's interested, I can make them available. ***CAUTION*** Only tested with Wolf's hi-contrast grass (Get it from CMHQ, now!), with some other grass they may not look good.
  10. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Offwhite: "Aaah, that Sgt Zapalowski, this whole mess is all his fault - somebody ought to put a bullet in his--" *plink* "Nice shooting, Karl - of course we will say it was a German bullet!"<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Lol!
  11. Infantry still looks a bit goofy. [ 07-10-2001: Message edited by: Wolf^ ]
  12. But remember, there's NO turning back!
  13. I could setup a ftp if someone is interested to get those treebases, or that grass (which is mine too). You can get that grass from CMHQ too.
  14. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by gunnergoz: And I suppose Charles and Steve stole your idea for CMBO? <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> That's right! Damn you really are a mind reader!
  15. I hope this works: [ 07-08-2001: Message edited by: Wolf^ ]
  16. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by gunnergoz: For those who find the bases odd, the intended effect was to totally avoid the "undergrowth" look and to instead go for a "tree shadow" approach. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Hey, that idea is stolen from me! I've done that a long ago, altough I never post it here, because I wasn't 100% satisfied with it. Maybe I should post a screenshot if I can find one. [ 07-08-2001: Message edited by: Wolf^ ]
  17. War is brown and dark. (It looks darker when you don't see the sky. But yes, it's not very bright.) Ok, I took one picture from the ground level. The colors look a bit odd there, they look better in real. My terrain-pack and new "Shadow" treebases are at ftp://wolf:mod@130.234.189.114 My treebases are in beta-stage so I'd love to hear some feedback about them. 18. My grass is actually lo-res, so it should run on lo-end machines just fine. I have cel525 (+ Gf2mx) and it runs veeery smoothly. Beautiful.
  19. Wolf's hi-contrast grass is the right answer to this question. New Wolf's "Shadow" treebases included.
  20. My ftp is working again. I had some technical problems.
  21. Yeah, DD's. Great trees! But I think those autumn trees are way too colorful. I must ask a permission from DD to alter those trees a bit for my taste.
  22. You can get it now! ftp://wolf:mod@130.234.189.114 I suggest you to make backup copies of original treebases .bmps, there's no guarantee you like this mod. The mod is in beta-stage so I might still tune it a bit. Give me some feedback to wexu_@hotmail.com **No readme.txt included, use at your own risk!!** [ 04-10-2001: Message edited by: Wolf^ ]
  23. I didn't like the way any treebases graphics looked with my hi-contrast grass mod. So, I decided to do my own treebases. Here's couple of screenshots of the coming "Shadows" treebases mod.
