  1. Welcome to the final round of the Farm tournament. Matchups for this round are: Bracket 1 eniced73 (German) vs. Wreck (American) Bracket 2 ~Viajero (German) vs. Odin (American) German player starts the game. Game turns will be sent out shortly. The deadline for this round is Wednesday 27 June 2012.
  2. Thanks for starting the AAR thread, and that's a great AAR. Really gives a great sense of how the battle developed. Thanks for taking the time to do it.
  3. OK, results are in for all games; congratulations to the winners: Bracket 1 eniced73 Wreck Bracket 2 Odin ~Viajero A new thread will be posted for Round 4. Please put your AARs in the dedicated thread.
  4. I think we're done with this round. I've just had a very busy week; give me a couple days and I'll get everything sorted for the final.
  5. As a scenario designer I always put a different terrain tile under any gaps in the bocage to make them easier to pick out.
  6. How much time would you need to complete it? I don't want to drag this out, but if none of the other players objects I could extend it for no more than a week.
  7. The scenario has been uploaded to the Repository and should be available shortly. If you play it, please let me know how you like it (or don't like it). Thanks.
  8. Thanks, but you deserve the credit for creating the terrain; I just threw on a few filters.
  9. It is now midday of 5 August 1944. The U.S. 6th Armored Division's Combat Command A is rapidly advancing across Brittany. So far the advance has been very quick, with only limited pockets of German resistance. CCA has been moving along small roads parallel to CCB's movement along the larger roads to the north. Lead elements of CCA are pushing toward the town of Heulgoat. An ad-hoc German Kampfgruppe has been directed to slow the advance of the American forces pushing rapidly toward the port city of Brest in order to give the recently-arrived 2 Fallschirmjager Division time to better prepare the city's defenses. The general circumstances are historical, though the forces engaged are hypothetical. The map is fictional but offers a reasonably characteristic representation of the terrain in the area.
  10. I agree that the lack of 7.92 Kurz in vehicles is silly and problematic. I also agree that this is in the wrong subforum.
  11. Yes, it's still alive. Fewer active games means fewer reports (hopefully no one's gone AWOL).
  12. They can and will kill armor. I hit three StuGs with rifle grenades (killed two, took out the main gun on the other) in one epic PBEM turn.
  13. Good stuff. Probably a bit small by real world standards, but then again anything too big would likely look cartoonish in-game. BTW, a quick Google search will turn up photos of muzzle flash from various WWII-era weapons if you'd like to see what the real thing looks like.
  14. I like what you're doing with photo-realistic flame effects in the game, but I feel I have to mention that the shape of the muzzle flash in CMBN is wrong. The vast majority of WWI-era small arms had no flash hiders or muzzle brakes to shape the flash by directing the exiting gasses. Thus the flash should be a sort of cloud of flame extending forward from the muzzle, not the star-shaped flash with the majority extending perpendicular to the muzzle. Don't know how much that matters to you, but I thought I should mention it if you're after maximum realism.
  15. Cool - thanks, ~Viajero. I hope others are doing the same.
  16. The Round 2 scenario is available in the Repository. You can download it and examine it to your heart's content.
  17. Thanks very much for the AAR. Lots of detail for just a few turns. Too bad you didn't get to play it out.
  18. Emails with passwords and game files are on their way.
  19. It was definitely a reported bug in v1.01. I had hoped that 1.10 solved it, but this suggests that perhaps it has not. Ugh.
  20. OK, with v1.10 now in the wild, we can proceed. The match-ups: Bracket 1 German - American Cogust - eniced73 Wreck - poesel71 Bracket 2 German - American Wartooth - ~Viajero sfhand - Odin As before, the German players starts the game. Turns and passwords will be emailed out today or tomorrow. This round will conclude in 45 days on 5 May 2012. Please make sure you are patched to v1.10 before proceeding. Also, please get your Round 2 AARs underway if you haven't already. No one has yet posted in the AAR thread ( linky ).
  21. Also, as an aside, please take moment to rate and/or review the tournament scenarios in the Repository. Thanks.
  22. After action reports for Round 2 - Running the Roads -and discussion thereof should be posted here.
  23. OK, boys and girls, I heard not word one from either of the missing players, so we're done with Round 2. Our winners: Bracket 1 Cogust eniced73 Wreck poesel71 Bracket 2 Odin Wartooth ~Viajero sfhand Congratulations to the victors. Now, as to Round 3. As noted, my intention is to wait for the base game to be patched up to v1.10 before continuing. This will avoid any sort of compatibility issues between CW-enabled and non-CW-enabled players. I don't know when the patch will be released, but hopefully it will be soon. I will wait until that time before opening the Round 3 thread with match-ups and deadlines. In the meantime I will post the Round 2 scenario to the Repository for anyone who's interested, as well as opening a Round 2 AAR thread. Since you'll have a little break before the next scenario, you'll have plenty of time to work on those AAR (wink wink, nudge nudge).
