  3. I do not object to sharing general working knowledge of the game; it is to be expected that some have figured these details out and some have not.

I had another question on this, so let me clarify things: The briefings are intended to be vague, as an actual military briefing might be in an uncertain situation; they are not intended to be explicit instructions for a game. Reading them carefully and inferring meaning is part of the exercise. I will not, in the interests of fairness, elaborate on the briefings. You should consider your mission objectives and infer what type of objectives would be most appropriate; I have selected objective types in-game based directly upon the missions assigned.
  5. The panel line accentuation reminds me a lot of what you see in plastic scale modeling. Not a bad thing at all, but a different look. Takes me back to my miniature tabletop gaming days.

I tried to be as explicit as possible that the first thread was only to see if there was enough interest to go forward and that official sign-ups would be done separately. I have enough work trying to organize and administer everything as it is without jumping between multiple threads.

  22. It looks like we might be able to muster the 16 participants necessary to run the ladder tournament, so here's the official sign-up and information thread. First 16 people to respond affirmatively in this thread with their email address will be in. Once I have the complete list, I'll set up the bracket and get the assignments out. RULES: - This is a basic bracket tournament. Two players go into a game, one comes out. The scenarios will not be mirrored. Every effort has been made to ensure that the scenarios are balanced, but there are nonetheless bound to be unbalanced results. Please do not join the tournament if you are unwilling to accept the fact that the scenarios may not be perfectly balanced in all circumstances. - Each round will run for a maximum of 45 days. The scenarios are all quite small and short, so this should not present a problem. If a round ends early I will bump up the start of the next round. - I will provide game files with passwords already set. The Axis player will start all games. - The default method of player will be PBEM. If both players agree, RT may be used. - All games will be played on ELITE difficulty. - All game results must be reported to me by email by both players. - All players agree to write AARs for each scenario they participate in. I will start an AAR thread in this forum after the first round is complete. This is intended to be a fun little diversion, not a serious full-blown tournament.   23. I'm going to leave this up over the weekend to see if we can get to the 16 necessary; we're a good bit short right now. If it looks like we can make it work, I'll put the formal announcement and sign-up thread up on Monday. Anyone who's interested and hasn't spoken up, sound off like ya got a pair!
  24. I'm not planning on mirroring. I'm doing everything in my power to balance the scenarios, but I already know there will likely be complaints, or at least grumbling. I envision this as just a fun and relatively informal tournament, and I hope everyone will look at it the same way.
