  1. I tried em guys, and there's one caveat. When a unit is selected, the highlight box is in 2D, hence you see two boxes. Very disorienting. As far as the 3D effect if you don't select a unit... Stunning! I'm kinda mixed though toward how they would improve my CM playtime though. I like to lock onto units and get the behind the shoulder view. Fatiguing when done with the 3D glasses. As far as the hardware, I happen to have a pair of Elsa's wireless glasses. They are comfortable and cost $80 at a local Computer show. Perhaps you can go to one in your local area and preview a pair? The software, for me, was an easy one. If you are one of the multitudes that possess an Nvidia product, you're in luck! They have extremely stable drivers available on their driver download page at their website. Otherwise, you'll be stuck with using the provided drivers, and they may be a hit or miss affair with the "other" brands of video cards. Good luck! Bigmac out!!
  2. Yes, I just got it last night! Fortunately Zone Alarm let me know something was amiss before I opened it (so I didn't). I've emailed the person that sent it (I didn't recognize his name) inquiring what exactly it was that he sent. I'll get home tonight and let him know he has it. Thanks for the info guys! Bigmac out!
  3. This is a must have for all you QB'ers! My two bucks is on it's way fellas... Thanks! Bumpity-BUMP Bigmac out!
  4. Hi Tom! It just so happens that my opponent in a current game has suffered exactly this type of damage. Just last night, my Churchill VII with HE only was exchanging shots frontally with a broadside Panzer IV at about 80m in the excellent scenario called "Monty's last push" or something like that... Anywhoo, after the Panzer bounces several shells, and my Churchill digging up the ground around the Panzer for an entire turn. At the end of the turn my Churchill got off one more shot before the movie ended. Immediately upon the start of the next movie, the Panzer lost his red targeting indicator to my tank (even though he was definitely in LOS). My opponent is now attempting to withdraw the Panzer away from the battle, but his turret has not budged from the direction it was in during the exchange. The turret is rotated approximately 85 degrees from forward and has been so for the entire turn. He has no targets and has turned tail and making distance between our AFV's... Interesting, to say the least! Bigmac out!
  5. I find that my unassigned Sharpshooters will only automatically target TC's. My MG'ers OTOH, do as you say Jarmo. I always leave them unassigned. Allow them to pick a target (that I know will be an HQ/Mortar/AT team/spotter...etc...., when in a target rich environment) THEN use my Sharpshooter to target the MG'er target. Works every time! 6. Thanks Dave, that's the kind of feedback I was lookin' for. I'll have to bum them from my dad next time I visit! Thanks! Bigmac out!
  7. I have a question for all you well read members. Are any of you familiar with the monthly installment series called "The Complete History of the Second World War" by Cavendish(sic?) publishing? It was sold in book stores as well as grocery store magazine racks from the mid to late 70's. From what I remember in leafing through the 20 something complete binders (each binder has at least 20 issues) it appears very detailed and informative. Plenty of pictures and maps. I'm thinking about borrowing the complete set from my dad for my reading enjoyment, but I guess I'd like to know if it's worth my time. I don't want to be reading accounts that you "pro's" know to be inaccurate. Any help here? Thanks in advance... Bigmac out! [ 06-29-2001: Message edited by: bigmac@work ]
  8. I'm with Randl, Rune. I have all your paks, but will only play them head to head against another human. Of the three I've played, I can state in my most eloquent kewldood speak: "RUNE ROCKS"! WWB, after you're done drubbing my in our current bloodfest, how 'bout a go via one of Rune's digital crack codings? hehe... Bigmac out!
  9. There are zoom keys?? Sheesh... Been playin' the game for 8 months and I haven't used 'em. I have to rush home now and give it a try. Thanks Walter Bigmac out!
