  1. Do you have another drive you can install as your boot drive?

Put in a backup hard drive, or new, load windows, boot up with your "bad" hard drive as secondary and see if you can get some life out of it. Be sure to change the jumper to slave.

If it truly is bad, it won't work now either. If it does show up in BIOS, and you can access it in windows, get all the data you need off of it and go from there.

Like the guys above said, they usually don't crash 'all the sudden', they exhibit signs of failure prior to their final gasp.

    Good luck

  2. Getting back to the "wonder theme"

    And I wonder

    I wa-wa-wa-wa-wonder

    Why

    Ah-why-why-why-why-why the patch ran away

And I wonder where she will stay

    My little runaway, run-run-run-run-runaway

    A-run-run-run-run-runaway

I'm too young for this one, but good music is timeless.

  3. Rollstoy: One mistake that can be made by the commander is to send vehicles to spots that are already occupied by friendly vehicles, resulting in massive chaos!
With All Paths (ALT+P) turned on and no unit selected this should never occur. You can see everything and their destinations.

One thing that frustrates me is with no unit sleected, I see an enemy icon. Problem is which one of my unit has LOS to that unit? I have to click thru them all and wait for the icon to show to have that unit target the enemy.

What happened to the 'target sees me' blue lines from CMBO? Too gamey?

  4. Why do you have a Humvee so far South when the tanks came online? All my guys were halfway to Gun when the heavy armor showed up. smile.gif

This scenario is great but killed my old rig.

Seriously, I had the same issues at the beginning of this scenario trying to get all the vehicles positioned safely because I did not know what was downrange.

Pathing needs tweaking and I am sure it will be taken care of in the near future.

  5. Interesting Battle you set up Redwolf. LOL

As for the pathing, was it Quick or Fast versus Move?

I believe I read somewhere that slower speeds were better for the urban environment. I know your test had no buildings, but there were many turns that one would not normally make in the open. I am guessing it comes down to managing the vehicles' speed, you can't go sliding around corners in your armored vehicle. You have to decelerate, turn, then get on the gas again. The move command is much smoother in this case with the constant speed. Remember the tortoise and the hare?

I would like to see some changes made as well, and I am sure it will improve with future patches.

Armored vehicles pivot well. Why do they have to make those ridiculous Stryker-like turns?

  6. Yes, things like that are annoying. At least let squads share weapons and ammo when within range of each other. Perhaps if Squad A is within the same 8m square the Acquire button would become active and you could swap CLU, Javs, ammo, etc.

Joe #1: "Hey, Smitty, you got he CLU over there with you?"

Joe #2: "Yeah man, I got the CLU but no more Javs."

Joe #1: "Well, I got a Javelin. Give me your CLU."

Joe #2: "No way man, you give me YOUR Javelin."

Joe #1: "NO, you go get your own , GOSH!"

and it regresses into a Napoleon Dynamite scene from there.

  7. Okay, just replayed it.

I put all the troops in and moved all Brads to the far right. First move order was FAST to the trees and hills on the right.

Everyone made it thru minute one. I acquired Javs for everyone and dismounted. Minute 2 I lost one Brad. After that I was patient and used my infantry only. Kept my remaining two IFVs safe til the endgame.

I had a Major victory, but the points were 485 to 250 Syrian. I guess I lost too many personnel.

    He had one left alive.

I noticed an orange exclamation point on a Syrian soldier under fire then he disappeared. Is that a rout? I guess he shows up as missing?

    Played WEGO ELITE

  8. Brent Pollock: Maybe I just haven't noticed, but there doesn't seem to be any wav files associated with medic activity.
What sound(s) would that be? Sirens?

Or the medic saying, "It's gonna be OK Chuck, you're gonna make it. I'll tell your girl you loved her. Umm, can I have your iPod?"

Maybe when a guy gives buddy aid you could hear someone say, Corpsman Up! or Medic!

I agree on the engine sounds, kinda loud and annoying.
