  1. Clicking on a movement path or target line to select the associated unit.

    Would be nice.

Adjusting waypoints by clicking on them.

Been discussed at length and I believe it is on the very long TO DO List for BFC.

A 'select visible target' and a 'select next visible target' button might be useful too.

    I agree

Units to complete a HUNT order if threat disappears (rather than cancelling the order on first contact)

Yes, I wish they would continue on

A 'Save Game' hotkey rather than having to go through menu.

Oh come on, you're just being lazy

More information about the current cover and concealment of selected unit - a small icon in the GUI would do (and at the pointer when selecting move).

I agree, I never know if I am in the trees or in the open, but with 1:1 representation, not every member will occupy the same type of cover and concealment so I don't see how they could do this

Information about the effective range of weapons and their uses by clicking on them in GUI.

See the Repository file 'Alternate Vehicle and Weapon Silhouettes'

Armour colour coded display on vehicle silhouette (as per CM1). This would be more useful than the current defences tab and could link in with a Penetration table at a later date.

See the Repository file 'Alternate Vehicle and Weapon Silhouettes'

To be able to view the number of kills achieved by individual units when reviewing the map at the after action report.

Already in the game. Just Review Map after the battle and the green text in the lower right gives you Kill Stats for the selected unit

  2. . . . Let's just say I'm still hopeful that before we die of old age I might get most of them into some game or another :D

    Steve

Which brings up the question, will the Steve and Charles clones be ready to step in when your Hull Down for good? Like on Sam Rockwell's MOON?

This issue isn't a deal breaker for me. I like the scenarios people make and I likes to take my time and watch all the action.

  3. I just had an errant mortar mission. It was an Emergency request, but look at the picture and you can see they weren't set up for firing. Look out Sgt. Hulka!

    All right, soldier, let's see

    how you fire that mortar.

    - What coordinates, sir?

    - Coordinates?

    Yes, sir. They determine

    where the mortar's...

Soldier, the Army has spent a lot of

money teaching you how to fire that.

Now set it and fire it.

    - We don't know where the shell's...

    - The only way to learn is to do it!

    Now fire the weapon.

    All right!

I don't know how to make the pic bigger, but the blue line was my linear request and the orange arc is where they fired 50 seconds into the round. If you enlarge the pic you can see all the little yellow mortar rounds heading to the corner of the map - not even close to the target!

  4. After just one go on Closing the Gap played from the US side, I agree. Those Panthers were tearing me up with a quickness. They seemed too good. I'll keep playing and see if things settle down.

I had a Sherman on Fast scooting up the road and the millisecond he broke cover, that Panther was rotating almost 90 degrees to ping him in the side. I lucked out with a bounce off the turret, but I didn't think he could spot me so quick.

Loving the Demo, no technical issues with my nvidia card.

  5. I telecommute tomorrow so that would be a perfect day for the release. The week is nearing its end as well, it has to be tomorrow, or tomorrow's tomorrow, right? We'll see.

I agree, the Demo will keep the masses quiet for awhile. Until those fanatic grogs start complaining about the leaves on the trees being out of season for Normandy or something.

  6. This is BY FAR the best forum on the interweb. Even with "The Peng" the Battlefront site is the best place for adult (mature) conversation on a myriad of topics. Most of us could compose an intelligent paragraph with nary a curse word or having to resort to using l33tsp33k.

I check the forum daily not only for games but all kinds of good info on music, movies, books, and drinks.

    Keep it up guys.

  7. And finally, pacing; Why does every commercial break have to begin with a 20 second teaser for the next segment – and even worse – end with a 2+ minute recap of everything we just saw? Why all the padding? The show is only about 44 minutes without the ads and when you take away the padding you have only a 35 minute show.

I have complained about this for awhile now. It seems every show no matter the genre does this.

Coming up ... Next on ... Stick around for ...

Then 5 minutes of inane commercials

Then another freaking recap of the program I have been watching.

This must mean the ADD crowd is now working on all the programs.

Very annoying - Thank God for DVR!

  8. Reading the current AAR between Elvis and Jon got me to reminiscing about Reisberg and those other old AARs that originally got me to purchase Combat Mission. Anyone have a link to them? Are they still out in cyberworld somewhere? Would love to reread them.

Normandy looks like it will be great. I haven't played a PC game in years (XBOX), but this new one will definitely get me back to WWII gaming.

    Thanks

  9. No I don't have an NCStar site. I bought the laser and flashlight combo at the Gun Show kind of spur of the moment.

Afterward I went online and found that NCstar was not that popular with the gun community.

It's fine for me though. I am not firing hundreds of rounds every weekend.

Mike, you don't like my tag?

    "Hawkmek....<sigh>....where to begin?"

I was a HAWK Mechanic in the Army, hence the name.

Kinda corny, I know, in this day and age of WoW and other games but I have been using it for 16 years now.

Your handle is great! It could apply to so many.

Green is the new red until blue is the new green and whatever else the marketers tell the obedient consumers.

Remember when eggs were good, then they were bad.

Coffee was bad, no wait then it was good.

  10. I bought a red dot sight and flashlight combo for my 9mm. Got it at our monthly gun show here in town.

No complaints so far. I hear green is the new red though. Green laser light is supposed to be better.

Only trouble is I am spoiled by video games. In games the bullet goes wherever the dot is. In real life, you can place the dot, but trigger squeeze and grip still determine where the round will land. I need more practice.

    About $100 for this one.

    Good luck.
